Methodical and efficient!!! There is a fiber that comes in a big bundle, it is like string, it is vegetal in origin and they sell it in all the hardware stores in France...plumbers use it, they take a strand, which looks like thread or fine string and they wrap it around pipe fittings as a second security measure with the glue, it works wonders if you can get into the habit...it is dirt cheap so when any seepage happens in the joint of the pipes it expands and should the glue have a slight sport inside where two pieces are slid or screwed together the fibers prevent leaks from spilling out. French plumbers have used it for centuries. When you go into abandoned chateaux you'll find it when taking out the old pipes and fixtures and us Yankees just look at it dumbfounded and wonder why they'd take their wifes thread to solve a leaky faucet...they don't, they us natural plant fivers along side the glue and screws and washers!!!!! I was here for 4 years before someone explained to me what it was and how it worked.....
Very cool, we did not know that. Only have seen the thread seal tape in USA for pipe threads. It’s so interesting seeing all the different methods used between countries… Thanks for sharing!
I am REALLY surprised that an area of France would not have a building code, that would require waste pipe joints to be cleaned and glued. Learn something new every day. But then again, I'm seeing a lot of things that surprise me on your building journey. Your editing skills are not THAT bad. Keep learning. We'll do our part and keep watching. Enjoying it.
Hey! There are building codes, but it’s true that for renovations, you are pretty free! Although we did clean and glue pipes first, the tape was just an added measure.. You can’t touch before the water counter and need authorization from the city to throw water from the septic tank in the city ditches… The in between no one really cares if it’s for yourself.. you do need to get everything checked before selling, and be transparent to the new owner. Fun fact, a conformed sewage system is not obligatory to sell your house in France! They do come check if you have a conformed septic tank, eventually give you a 100€ fine, but that’s about it… Super happy the inspector approved ours! Thanks a lot for watching, makes me sooo happy! 😊
Slow and steady wins the race or completes the job! I stumbled across your channel a few days ago so I checked out a few of your older videos. Thank you I appreciate the videos and all your hard work. ❤
I am very sorry to say, but you should really avoid 90 degree curbes, instead use 2 times 45 so the slope is smoother. You put 2 90 degrees behind eachother. That will clogg up. Sorry
Don’t be sorry, we know…it’s supposed to be « temporary » as we used what we had on site… (after getting tired and figuring out a shape for that toilet)… we will fix it! No big deal! Thanks for watching! 😊
I don't understand your problem with the flexible connectors - we have some since years in our house and no problem. On the other hand, your assemblies for black water evacuation are not good - never use 90° connectors - they get clogged over time - use two times 45° connectors.
Can I ask why you didn't just put the the pipe through the wall and then just down on the outside of the house. Then you could bury the waste pipe on the outside of the house.
Absolutely, we thought about it… but since the septic tank is like 20+ meters away from that side of the house it was shorter to pass the waste pipes all the way straight across the house, don’t know if that make sense. From where you are pointing, that would have add us another 5meters of piping length (plus the slope), so we would have ended up with a very high waste pipe to burry outside. We couldn’t really decide neither on where to place the septic tank (the special bureau decided) taking on consideration the permeability of the ground. 😊
Pray for me to improve my editing skills guys! 😅 thanks for watching! 😊

Hello, from Canada. I just started watching your channel and I love your videos.
Hello, glad you like them! Thank you for watching! 😊

We got some comments about how these flexible connectors get clogged 😣 would have like to see your comment before! We only used 45 degrees raccords 😊

Thank you the answer. I was just curious.
No problem, would have been fun to have public sewers… 🤷🏻♀️
