The land in which my family have made houses is in our possession since 1950s. But on Jamabandi we are only mentioned ‘Kaasht’ ,owners mentioned are different also they have left our village since 80 years. According to grandfather we also had a dispute with our neighbour on this land that neighbour is also still mentioned on Jamabandi but as rehan (mortgage). Maybe those real owners had sold this land to our neighbour as mortgage but court gave us protection we were given ‘Muzaria Mehfooz’ (type of protected tenant). Now the problem is according to Railway surveys our land is going to be acquired. Will there be any dispute? Also who’ll get the compensation? This whole land is in our uninterrupted possession since decades & real owners never claimed.

No, Such land is purely for self agriculture purpose only… we can’t alienate this kind of land… however it can be transferred through inheritance Mutation…
