@@spatsbear ok you should have "don't worry darling" playing on the sylvania as they have one in the movie and harry and florence have in their living room
Philco, once owned by the Ford Motor Company :) It’s interesting when people claim these are difficult to work on, but from what I can see they are fairly easy to work on since it’s smaller tv and the chassis slides out for easy accessibly to certain components.
That's in MARVELOUS condition. It was a 1961 Philco TV that sparked my old radio passion. Quality wise, it was awful--built using that awful Predicta-era wire-wrap technology.
So good to see another video from you guys! Sorry I never got a chance to say hi at AC23’ this year. Hope we can cross paths at a future convention. Keep up the great work!
WOW, a blond wood predicta, nise find. I am very happy to see younger guys like you take an interest in vintage electronics. Us old timers are dying of. Who will get my radio collection when I die ?????,
Awesome work, dude! Great video. Great choices for demonstration. That Calvin and Colonel cartoon was pretty cute. It's so "of the time," early 60's. Loved the GTA ride pimpin' too. I laughed so hard!
It's always nice to see your restorations. You take pride in the stuff you fix, even if it takes longer. It's really cool that someone makes those new couplets too. Sometimes I wonder how those even worked at all when so many components are bad. It's like they go bad just sitting in storage or something. I've never seen that cartoon before. Looks pretty funny. Is that a fox and a bear?
Amazing find! Plus, I haven't seen Calvin and the Colonel in years (even and though it was an attempt to bring back Amos and Andy to prime time TV)! Looks nice on this set.
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 It was like that when I got it. I tend to buy things if they’re special enough even in non working order. It was the only one of these sets I’ve ever seen in person in an antique store and didn’t want to miss an opportunity to own one.
Amazing job! I have a very clean but slightly non-functioning Philco Predicta Holiday I’m hoping to get repaired myself and watch Star Trek and The Twilight Zone. I know it’s probably uncouth to ask, but do you take on repair work?
Hi! Can you tell me where I find what is going on inside this TV as far as what is all attached to the exterior antenna rod? I have one of these with just the rod and ball joint, but no idea how it connects to anything inside the TV. Thanks!
50:51 What's the source of that? It's come full circle. I thought respecting the original aspect ratio finally became standard practice on DVD but now TV, streaming and UA-cam channels are tilt and scanning. God forbid they do it on DVD/BRD. 😡
A most beautiful restoration!
Thank you sir.

I love the look of these kind of sets, having the picture tube just hovering above the cabinet is the most space age thing ever.
Welcome back! I love Predictas.
Thanks!
Glad to see these again! This was an absolute joy to watch! Now you got me wanting to watch Calvin and the Colonel since I love old cartoons LOL!

Those Couplets look so nice from that tv restore guy. Very Nice! I don't blame you as it looks so much cleaner!
Thanks.

Thank you, and there will definitely be other opportunities to meet.
This looks like the TV that Al had in Toy Story 2!
It kind of does
Pretty much!
I think that’s because it is. I dunno
Correct. The director John Lasseter owned one and the one in the movie was based on his.
Awesome restoration! Good to see you're back too. ^^

You mean 0:18 ?
@@danek_hren No, that's Spats and Harley. I was talking about the characters in the cartoon that's playing on the TV later in the video.
@@Maxxarcade ok
Thank you. And the cartoon is from 1961, Calvin and the Colonel. If you watch closely, it is the same cartoon being played on the Munsters clip.

That's the same TV from Toy Story 2 that Al had in his apartment.
At least you got yours going. I dunno if mine will ever work again.
What happened? Why won't it work again?

Great Scott!
43:58 that bear character reminds me of mr spacely from the jetsons for some reason...
Does the picture tube have to be plugged into the chassis for the chassis to turn on?

Thanks. And unfortunately no, I do not take on repair work, as I do not have any time to do so.
@@spatsbear Completely understand. Thanks for the inspiration!

That was a UA-cam video I had grabbed for a specific episode I wanted to use… hence the incorrect aspect ratio.
