One of my favorite albums of all time, and also one of my only no-skip albums. Eternal Blue is up there with one of my favorite songs, too.
is this.. Yep still my fav album of all time!🖤 Also seeing them live supporting Architects is my best live show experience ever 😍
when I think of it.. it goes hand in hand with Heavener by Invent Animate :P
the bridge of halcyon (35:08) is the best moment on the album for me. it's sonic perfection. the riff, the chord progression, the floaty ambience, the swap between ethereal cleans and raw screams, the drum pattern and how the kicks swap from normal time to double time... when i heard this live, i lost my fucking shit. it was lifechanging.
Mike writes and plays all the music on the recordings, or, as was pointed out, programs the drums. For a while, they didn't have a permanent drummer or bass player but that's changed. They now have both and Spiritbox is a proper four-piece band now. Though, so far, neither the drummer or the bass player have actually played on a recording because that's just how Courtney and Mike write and record... up to this point (or last year when they released The Fear of Fear EP). They are currently writing/recording their second album so we'll see if the other band members play on it or not. The bass player will definitely sing on it since he's posted pictures on Instagram of his vocals being recorded.
Side note: the interesting thing is Courtney's vocals are so impressive that people, including vocal experts, think she MUST be professionally trained. She's not. And if you ask her how she does what she does, she'll just answer that she does it and doesn't know what technique she is using.
You should definitely check out their latest EP The Fear Of Fear
the wiki page for the album does list a couple of drummers, so it's possible there are live drums. Could be possible that they were recorded and sampled for programing.
They do have a drummer called zeb
Could you do their singles EP please?, it's about 5 songs if I remember correctly
