This is not good for the environment. It's better for the environment to be vegetarian. Less emissions from animal agriculture, less land used to grow crops. When you're eating meat, you're causing the food to be grown twice. Much more animal feed has to be produced for animals to eat than the amount of food you would eat if you just ate plant based food directly. Land is taken from nature to grow soybeans for animal feed
I don't think it's a good idea to have a slaughterhouse in the same building and run by the same set of workers. Because once those pigs are slaughtered, their immune system will naturally fail, and some microorganisms will inevitably breed in the meat and offal. Then sooner or later these microorganisms will inevitably spread to those pigs that are still raised, no matter how clean the slaughterhouse is.
