Then what type of holiness might such a one be that is attained and presumably maintained by men through their "utmost" effort? Would it not be by definition man made? And would such an effort not be based on the man's hope of "BEING LIKE GOD" (Genesis 3:5)? I am astonished that this type of thinking has been given such a foothold among Christianity.
