    This is my hometown! A very nice little city. My junior high was spent around the west lake. Those were the good times

      I’m afraid they won’t let me now; security watches me closely.

    What a beautiful city. The view from the pagoda on the hill top must be spectacular. On the map just north of Huizhou city is a large Xiantoushan National Natural Reserve, probably a very beautiful area. Would love to see what's there.

    • @WalkaboutRojo
      @WalkaboutRojo  4 роки тому

      Awesome recommendation. I'll be going back to the city next week, so maybe i'll have to hit that up.

      @@WalkaboutRojo Another suggestion: just watched a clip about the new glass bridge at Lianzhou, Guandong. Opened on July 18. The surrounding hills are very scenic too.

    how would you compare huizhou with zhongshan?

    • @WalkaboutRojo
      @WalkaboutRojo  4 роки тому +2

      there are a lot of similarities, but also a lot of differences. I don't know enough about Huizhou to make a full comparison, but generally i found the people to be very friendly, the city to be well developed and a lot more mountains to explore.

    7:17, the sign says "Conserve ancient banyan". The place looks a bit deserted. Maybe because of the time.

      It was also the middle of the week on a very hot day. I didn't mind too much.

    @3:59 - Does the health code indicate whether a person had been outside China? Are Chinese students coming back to China excluded from this discriminatory policy (for example)? The police in Shenzhen is involved in this matter favoring foreigners. But how are the police going to enforce their stance if they need to?

    • @WalkaboutRojo
      @WalkaboutRojo  4 роки тому

      I don't know anything about the police in Shenzhen, but the health code does take into account where you have been (or at least where your phone has been). There are generally two codes you need to have with you; the proximity code and the health history code.

    actually this city is Hangzhou which located in Zhejiang province. Huizhou is another city located in Anhui province

    • @WalkaboutRojo
      @WalkaboutRojo  4 роки тому +1

      Haha. Well, actually this is the West Lake District of the city of Huizhou, Guangdong (I was just there). There is a west lake in the city of hangzhou (quite famous) and there’s also another city in Anhui with the same name.

    From other China vloggers. They'd said that the locals told them that ghosts can't cross zig-zag bridges which is why you'd often find them built in that way. Interesting. Obviously, on them straight glass bridges, you'd have to run for your life if you happen to be chased by a ghost.

    • @WalkaboutRojo
      @WalkaboutRojo  4 роки тому

      Yes, that's right. I have heard that too. It's interesting, but also makes for more interesting parks.
