Graham is a modern Swiss luxury watch label that builds timepieces named after a 17th-18th century English horologer; most of the company's watches resemble something Duke Nukem would have worn had he flown Spitfires in the Battle of Britain... does that make sense? No?
In that case, the Graham Chronofighter 1695 is the Graham for you. With a killer steel/black dial color combo, a gorgeous 42mm case, and distinctive features that set it apart without bombast, the Chronofighter 1695 is Graham's olive branch to luxury watch traditionalists.
Consider the size and color palette: perfect. This Graham Chronofighter is suitable for black tie or short sleeves, and the style never tries too hard to to win admiration. Even Graham's signature "quick lever" chronograph actuator is pared down for this, the "gentleman's special" of the Graham watch collection.
Graham keeps it simple on the dial. A black base, a date window at three o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph register maintain a clean visage with close-shaven credibility among polite company. This isn't the Graham to wear if you're trying to out-bling an Hublot King Power. But if you're determined to keep it real - real sharp - the Chronofighter 1695 is ready to be your wingman.
Like all Graham Chronofigher models, the Chronofighter 1695 features a prominent chronograph start/stop lever. Absent the overboard showmanship of the larger Chronofighters, the lever's fundamental logic and ergonomic qualities take center stage on this watch. It's easier to start, stop, and grip securely when using the chronograph, and the ability to actuate the lever with a right-hand thumb makes the Graham system feel like a truly meaningful upgrade to the traditional mechanical chronograph interface.
On its case back, Graham treats the owner of this Chronofighter 1695 to an engraved image of the legendary Greenwich Observatory. Chartered in 1675 and home to the Prime Meridian since 1884 (GMT, naturally), the Observatory has played a central role in world horology since its inception.
Any watch enthusiast who hasn't seen the Graham Chronofighter 1695 simply doesn't know Graham. While the Swiss-British hybrid brand makes no bones about provoking love-hate reactions from the watch community, this Chronofighter 1695 is the kind of timepiece that should redress the love-hate balance among the watch purist cognoscenti.

This model really seems attractive. In terms of quality and craftsmanship, how does Graham compare to a Carrera Tag Heuer or Breitling? Thanks

    Hi Tim,
Thanks for the video, I found it well done and your commentary was on point.
I've just recently bought this watch (white patterned dial version with date window at 6 o'clock) and love the more subtle Graham aesthetic but was wondering if it was your experience too that the trigger has a little play/wiggle to it? Thanks

Shereif Rostom Hi Shereif, thank you for your kind feedback. My experience with this 1695 exceeded personal expectations. The trigger was very secure and exhibited no play on this example, and the security of the lever was impressive given its length. The whimsical brand image and overwrought design of certain Graham timepieces isn't to my taste, either, so the Chronofighter 1695 was refreshing to experience. While I'd still prefer a conventional chronograph, the feel of the 1695 did justice to its price and luxury billing.
      Best,
      Tim

Can you use it on the right hand? Although it's a nice timepiece.

Denis França Hi Denis! Indeed, this watch can be worn comfortably on the right hand (I tried it out of curiosity).
The one consideration when wearing this Chronofighter 1695 on the right hand is that the trigger was designed with a right-handed thumb in mind, so when the watch is worn on the right hand, the chronograph controls will not be readily accessible to your left thumb. The chronograph can still be used, but the action isn't quite as natural as when worn on the left hand.
      Best,
      Tim
