So fun fact, I work at Walmart. They have their own radio station for all their stores. They play BTS, all the time. They even are playing the english version of Jimins "Like Crazy" now. I know there is a lot of hate for Walmart lately, but love them for that a least.

The industry doesn't even need to help BTS. BTS could skyrocket easily if the industry simply stopped interfering. If they stopped meddling, scheming and sabotaging, BTS and ARMY can handle the rest. The issue isn't that BTS isn't getting help or support, it's that folks are working hard to block BTS's success. Without those unnecessary hoops to jump through, BTS would eat the music market up.

RE BILLBOARD....has anyone looked at the UA-cam channel that does the Billboard top songs of the week. She's right...the songs ppl "are buying and streaming" have a smaller amount of radio play. 97% of the songs that are in the top 10 have a ALOT of radio play but "low when it comes to ppl streaming it and buying it." RE UA-cam: UA-cam is making me go look for BTS now after all these years. Even tho it's 80% of what I watch. They never recommend BTS to me anymore. the point is ''money'', the american music industry can not make money off of bts. bts are independent artist that does everything on their own with their own label 'big hit and corporation 'hybe. all productions period of bts and their overall business is ''in house. therefore, why should bts lose and give up the great thing they have just to be ripped off, put in debt, sell their souls and have their music rights stolen by the music industry in america. ''hybe just needs to be more aggressive and cut throat. i think hybe' learned a lot by suga's latest u.s. concert tour which set a industry record both in album sales and concert sell outs.'💜

HYBE is not a label. It is the coporate part of multiple more or less indepedent labels.
BTS is now under Big Hit Music.
What do you think they should do? Create their own label? It still needs a coporate part and that goes in different ways:
      - no time for their own music or family/friends (Psy didn't make any new music because he concentrated only on his artists and had no time to concentrate on his own music till Yoongi offered him a song)
      - financial proplems with the books etc. (Zico put his own label KOZ under HYBE and seems happy with that; Sleepy - the one who found Namjoon - was a rapper but his old label was s* and so he founded his own label; do you know the music he does these days? trot)
Under BH and HYBE they do have agency and do not have to work themselves to the bone while still being able to be creative.
So please stop being an armchair manti and look at how it works: They in part created HYBE and now that it pays finally they are supposed to leave because you want what exactly?
Do you work for free? Do you like being paied badly or not at all for working more than the official hours? Because artists can work the night through or in the Idol industry work through multiple days without even half an hour of sleep during promotion.
Their beginning was hard and they have said it that they could not do it again and why should they?
Because you are priviliged and pouting?
Bang Si Hyuk gave up the poistion as CEO to have more time for music creation - which he is using well - but in the end if he wants control he still has it.
They have their own streaming plattform.
What do you think "Jack in the box" album is played on? And they may be doing also something with the K-Drama "Youth" and it's distribution - we will see.
All that cost a s* load of money and needs people they trust (how many Western artist lost all their money because they trusted someone that used them/accidently squandered their money?) controlling it. Stop living in a fairytale/conspiracy theory (most of them are not true even when the one boracity shows is) and come back to reality.
A new beginning would also take about a decade to built - and they do not want that because they also pay bills (sometimes also for their family) and may want to built a more "tradional" family and have more free time.
Quiet a bit of Army is built also from vibers/antis etc. that will not hang on because they have their own life or want only specfic stuff.
Write your fanfic but do not forget how the real world works. They are humans not some kind of magicians that can just snap their fingers and everything coporate works without their daily input.
      Peace! 💜

You clearly have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. Bighit may be part of Hybe, but they aren't UNDER them, they're a private company. They make all of their own decisions, Hybe literally can't do anything without their permission. And what do you really think Hybe ISN'T doing to support them? You want them to pay for radio spins and industry clout? That thing BTS does not want them to do and is literally illegal in the first place? You want them to sue basically every part of the Western music industry for fucking with BTS? I'm sure they'd love to, they may even be working on it, but it's almost an impossible task and they're not stupid enough to go for it if they don't have a solid case. You want them to focus on only BTS and not have any other artists? Do you not understand how companies work?
Diversifying actually takes the weight off BTS's shoulders, so they can take breaks, so they can enlist or hell, they can even breathe for a goddamn second without worrying about the company crumbling without them. And it's not like the other artists on the "roster" as you call it are slouches, Seventeen was the 6th highest-selling artist in the world last year, TXT and Enhyphen are both in the top ten highest-selling KPop acts of all time, New Jeans and Le Sserafim are under a year old and yet they're already selling a million copies of their albums. They're good artists, many of which are friends with BTS and contribute to the bigger picture. Yes, some of them have engaged in some "tactics" mentioned in the video to increase sales like creating more editions of albums, but it's not like they're hiding it, it's literally the LEAST shady tactic possible because it still relies on fan engagement and support and gives money to the members and the label directly rather than to some random American megacorp. No one is claiming that any of the other Hybe artists are going to outsell BTS, but at this point literally no one in the music industry but Taylor Swift can even come close, that's an insane standard to try to hold them to. BTS had the opportunity to step away or to make their own company, and they CHOSE not to because being BTS is enough pressure as it is without having to also manage an entire company by themselves.
They're with Bighit because they trust them and because they have the ability to do whatever the fuck they want, which they have made clear REPEATEDLY. And doing what they want includes not playing the industry's games. Stop trying to pretend you know what's best for them when you don't even understand the basics of how companies or the music industry work. Do what Army are supposed to actually do which is support BTS, which includes trusting them to make their own decisions.

@ruthfischer7615 Dear one, the comment section is not where I would deem it necessary to detail a business plan nor would I propose to provide them one as I'm sure they have the sufficient means with which to do so also let us remember their own education & experience, more so than most successful artists that did the same.
You have deflected by arguing semantics of labels but fail to recognize that both the label & the corporate front are businesses & in business. If the label hands over operations, then that part & the label are responsible for decisions. I don't believe you picked up on the poor business (corporate) strategic measures done by Hybe and in its part Big Hit. That is why Hybe is at the forefront of the commentary. If you required differentiation, simply put, Big Hit the label lost sight of its initial mission statement and embraced corporate( cash grabs etc) over art. It's initial mission which set it apart from the big 3 and drew in the fan base that wanted more & dedicated itself to wanting more.
Hybe (corporate) is in the driver's seat & their focus is on their other artists/labels taking for granted that the BTS fanbase Goliath will auto rake in w/o any effort on their part. Machiavellian but short-sighted, which insults Machiavelli. Unless they gameplanned BTS is at its ending cycle, then what they are doing/not doing makes 100% sense.
Well, enjoy deflecting and smokescreening away from the key issues not refutted. ( You made the mistake of being a bit condescending so I had to call you on what you were doing for those who would be intimidated & not see throught it, sorry) Hope you got some enjoyment and pride in your detailed rebuttal though. No clue what happened in your day to inspire, but I'm honored in your attention and effort for an ignorant, uneducated nobody such as myself. I suggest copy/pasting as it may impress, intimidate or deter someone else w/ less logic, education, or common sense. 🤔
You do realize that most creative works from literature to business trending and forecast analysis & and strategy are a form of fanfic. No? Hmmm. Fascinating. I was entertained. Thanks for playing. Have a great Sunday!

@@monkat3759 "Experience"? sure. But also hate and working the nights through and a lot of money. it is especially tiering when you have to fight the industry again and again. (try boracity magazines videos)
Why is it so hard to understand that?
I have seen other business owners do that. Always working and never going anywhere to the point where everything was full of undone work, tried to make grandchildren visiting to work and - despite living in a big city - behaving like the first time in the city when attending a funeral and actually not working. It's sad.
And very naive to think they would want that. It's a giant amount of time and money that they have better uses for.
Not to mention that the label has 1600 employees that they are also part responsible for. Because yes, a lot of people would be in danger of losing their job. In SK where people are already struggling so that could mean suicide.
It could be seen as selfish and they are not.
We are talking about people that create and maintain jobs in a bad economy that can turn deadly fast.
Do you really not care how you get your entertainment?
And poor? where? It's in some points experimental but also overall successfull. There is a reason why they are on lists for most influencial companies in the world. You not liking it does not change that.
It's alway "cute" when people that have zip understanding how a big business works complain about it. 1 600 people are not small. You better hope that there are professionals handling the payment/finances for the output.
Because the labels are soly responsible for trainees, artists, music and promotion. HYBE has other jobs and are the coporate part of them meaning they connect to outsiders/other companys, create city promotion plans during concerts, do the books, lawyers, hire cleaners & security etc., weverse... everything that the artists/labels need for their work they offer (within reasons) and the labels/artists decide what they need from those.
I'm sorry that you think that their people should not know where their paycheck come froms and if it is sufficient and on time.
It's not a "cash grab" because you can't afford it or don't like it. And what is your problem anyway?
      BTS English songs?
Were for Army in the pandemic. Just because they were in English does not mean it was for the US market. Those songs saved lifes. (in SK still on the charts, charting well in Japan, in India used for public safety, a major football club in Europe used a line to celebrate a championship etc.)
      The anthology albums?
where already planed to drop much earlier - politics and Covid delayed them.
      Merch?
You don't need everything and everyone does it. I think that it is only right when an artist makes at least 40% of their income from not direct content. I dislike artists having to work without holidays, time for friends & family and time to rest (which is what essentially happened to BTS because it was necessary).
I'm sorry that you fell for the anti-coporate cospiracy theories because you do not understand them. Learn. They are teaching us and you have access to all decisions on their websites and youtube channel.
Because you sometimes need to question what you "know". Your viewpoint is only how it impacts YOU and because it is not what YOU want YOU hate it.
Try living in reality for once. Logic, education and common sense don't seem to be your strong point: Only "me right, you wrong!" Daeng! - stubborness.
There are BTW some great works on statistic. I know one that is called "The dog that lays eggs". (in other words - never trust a statistic you haven't falsified yourself aka. try to find the context)
Watzlawik wrote a book "The Situation Is Hopeless, But Not Serious: The Pursuit of Unhappiness" (those books are good).

@@monkat3759 Scooter Braun and Lenzo Yoon are the co-CEOs for HYBE America. That includes everything under Ithaca Holdings- Geffen, SB, QC, etc. Braun manages the American artists; Yoon's role is organizing American 'K-pop' groups. Park Ji-won is the CEO for HYBE Korea now that Hitman Bang has stepped down to Chairman of the Board of Directors and focuses on production. HYBE Korea's labels are Source Music, Pledis Entertainment, Belift Lab, Koz Entertainment, ADOR, and of course Big Hit Music. (There is also HYBE Japan, CEO Han Hyun-rock.)
Naturally, each CEO is responsible for their particular branch of the company, but each label within the company maintains its own staff, its own idols, its own creative teams, and its own training and promotion procedures. The two Big Hit groups, BTS and TXT, continue to have considerably more freedom in making their music than most other groups, including the ones under the other labels within HYBE Korea. Braun and Yoon, as managers of HYBE America, have little input to the Korean activities, and the same is true of Park as the Korea-branch CEO.
Big Hit did not 'lose' their artists for healing. HYBE America's acquisitions of various US companies doesn't affect HYBE Korea's musicality. Nor is Big Hit's titan status the result of catering to a US company. Big Hit has been a serious rival to the Korean 'Big Three' since 2016, and surpassed them in performance well before the company decided to buy up Ithaca in 2021. It's *because* BH surpassed SM, YG and JYP that Hitman Bang was *able* to buy up Ithaca. Bang Si-hyuk is no fool; he realized early on that having 90% of his company's income funneling through BTS was short-sighted and potentially disastrous, and that is why Big Hit began diversifying. BTS is still the powerhouse of Korea, but the other HK label-groups are popular enough and profitable enough that BTS's hiatus will not cripple HYBE Korea.
HYBE, the collective of different nationalities, branches and labels, isn't supposed to focus on BTS. Big Hit, their label, is supposed to focus on them, just as Pledis is supposed to focus on Enhyphen and QC is supposed to focus on the various HYBE US hip-hop groups. The branches of the company are remarkably autonomous, which results in the various artists not being shaken up by conflicting management techniques. Which is only sense when one is dealing with such different countries and management policies. HYBE Korea does not stoop to payola techniques; that's been one of Hitman Bang's core policies from the beginning. Scooter Braun probably does use payola techniques- but he doesn't attempt to enforce them on his business partners.
BTS are not at all likely to break off from BH or HYBE-K; they are part owners of the company, and together, they represent a majority stock-holder. They are not well done by in terms of the US music industry, but that is not the fault of HYBE- neither Korea nor US. BTS are poorly treated by the US for the same reason they are poorly treated by their own media; they don't play by industry rules. The industries resent their success and tries to ignore and undermine them. If it really bothered BTS, they'd have either conformed or quit years ago, when their contract ended.

I wish she had left Seventeen out of it (and besides that are more than 13 different albums).
    Why so many?
Because quiet a few K-pop artists put personalized to a member albums out (the choosen member on the booklet, photocards of that member and perhaps - I have never baught a personilzed CD, not yet at least - a photobook concentrated on that member). Which is what SuperM did (7 members - I think) and Seventeen - who have 13 members.
    But otherwise?
Idol music keeps changing and there are more artists recognized who play a role in their own career and are part of the music creation etc. (Seventeen being even more self-made than BTS for example)
Nevertheless the sabotage is very real. Wish they would stop fighting against BTS that hard but it is not really in their interest that BTS succeeds.
    💜

    • @emcoffeebreak

having personalized versions is one of the main ways to increase sales. fans of a group tend to buy several, if not all, of the versions, which can give the illusion that the album is much more popular than it really is. that was the case with SuperM, where they managed to sell a lot of albums, but none of their songs charted on bb100 I believe. she mentioned Seventeen because essentially that's the core of why there are 13 versions - based on the reasons for many versions, not necessarily for the creative aspect - is to make more sales. either way, bts were attacked for no more than 4 versions, but others seemed to be greenlit to do as many versions as they want, for lack of a better word - is interesting.

@@emcoffeebreak Seventeen is not quiet the problem that BTS is... if they were they'd have been treated the same way BTS still is. (except if their label payed - but than I wondered why they are slower in raise... I think their label is not as good in promotions)
Mind you the ones complaining about more versions are actually to be located in the West mainly: Industry and antis.
So mentioning Taylor Swift makes more sense than Seventeen as it is about a different market alltogether. She could also have mentioned her favorite "I don't want to talk about them" girlgroup. Like I said naming Western artists here makes more sense.
      Otherwise: 💜

@@ruthfischer7615 you know what's make svt slow raise? bcs they didn't tell their own stories heavily like bts did especially deep lyrics. bts been promoting their own brand as story teller idol since debut. their pillar is hiphop. they are real students of hiphop. that's one thing that makes them more unique in US. what i notice is svt is good example of idols, they did it all but what's make them not having popularity as big as bts bcs ppl attracted to bts messages since beginning. it's not merely about label promotions. bts never get good promotions in their rookie era. they are big bcs their music more appealing in US than their own country since beginning

@@ruthfischer7615 if Seventeen is truly great like what you have said, they'd naturally get big without promotions just like BTS did in their earlier years. Not mention they had it easier now since UA-cam don't delete any of their views compared to UA-cam's unfair treatment to BTS. Also it's easier for them to be known since Kpop is now big in the US thanks to BTS paving the way for Kpop in the Western industry.
So I don't get your reason on saying why Seventeen's slow on rise is something to do with their lack of promotion.
Black Pink for example relies heavily in promotions and media play but why aren't they as big as BTS if the factor for BTS success is promotions?
So why are you blaming Seventeen's slow rise on their label and BTS?
Besides I've never seen a BTS promotion or ad before in UA-cam or TikTok even after following them for like a year. But ironically the group Seventeen whom you just claimed that has lack of promotion just popped on my screen the moment I clicked this video.
(I wish I can send you a screenshot)
So I don't get why you claim they lack on promotion when they already have ads in UA-cam?
As for BTS, I don't see any of their vids or music unless I searched them.
But other Kpop groups can easily popped in my feed once they released some teasers or official MV's.

@@ellengustina ... except I'm Army not a Carat (I have maybe heard 2 Seventeen songs and one of them I didn't like)
      Seventeen is more selfmade actually:
bby gang mag "you are wrong about K-pop"
They may not have (had?) BTS depth but they do everything themselves - by pure necessarity it seems.
I listen on occassion to other artists but I'm actually still happy if I know how many members the groups have. I'm still learning some other names but I can't even put those names I do know to faces.
Bad memory on my part. That and I'm not sure I'm that interested in them and have trouble to make myself.
I do know BTS quiet well, thank you.
For them I have watched quiet a few video essays, news and read articles. With that much fiction out there it was not easy.
But I hope to be a fair person and I'm under the impression that the Seventeen members are actually quiet nice.
      If you haven't seen them:
      bby gang mag/Elliot Sang
xCeleste (This is BTS, This Army, Hardship vids)
Rice Squad "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On"
      Taylor Mari Bangtan 7
      DKDKTV
      Bookish Theory
Italian Army "what you still don't know about BTS spring day"
      The Rise of Bangtan

some of the BTS movies (since I saw them close together I'm not 100% sure of the titles I actually saw, sorry)

Still amry suffers from a persecution complex. At least in Korea Hybe became the most powerful entertainment company several years ago. How can they say bts is still persecuted by other big3? Some army have mental disorder. Go to hospital plz.
