Didn’t even watch the full video and I subscribed. Absolutely love your voice and excitement about plants. Super excited to watch your videos. Glad I found you
you saved my time I was gonna try to use the local palm tree leaf to propagate a new palm.
You take it from the mother plant at the bottom super easy it comes with its on little root!
Thank you for the video I was just about to try the cuttings 😅
Thank your for sharing with us.
Good Effort
You go girl!
Thanks for do this i keep dream It Is posible 🤔😁
Ameging 😊
Thank you for sharing this collective information... this sure has helped me understand and save time
Thanks for the info I have a had a couple of cuttings since Palm Sunday then found your video That big leaf you are showing resembles a pineapple leaf. I have one and the leaves are thick and very stiff and pointy.
Thank you for being honest!
Nice
Also, you can make a new plant from any plant by roots dividing, it’s a guaranteed success if you get to split the roots
I tried the same when I was first gardening. Every palm tree ever has come from a seed. That's it no other option :( and the ones that have suckers/ pups where also originally stared by one seed. Happy growing
Thank you for saving me time and disappointment!! The movers broke my Majesty palm shoot. I put it in water yesterday lol
OMG your dimples are so cute❤
If only it worked cool video

So how do you start with the seeds to grow a new plant
The
Thank you for making this video. I just got two Roebeleniis, trimmed them, and was curious if they could be propagated
Just found this video and you are adorable!
Hey hun tha is for sharing this video.... I ha e noticed that it can take longer than 4 weeks to see roots
Palm leaves won’t root 😂
Hahaha... 🤣 OMG... 🙈 You're hilarious Ruby!! 😂👍😍 I think for this video your alias needs to be, The Playful Botanist!" 🤓🌱❤ You're wonderful for experimenting and regardless of failure, still happy, hopeful and optimistic -- and all Beautiful qualities❣🐬 Wishing you success, love and many blessings‼️ 🙏 🙏 🌹🕊 🌾

Thank you for the honest contents. I have subscribed.
Thank you for sharing this. I am very much interested on how to grow a Buri palm tree. I just bought some of its fruits, though, and i'm thinking if i can grow from its seeds.
Thank you so much Sure, you can grow palm trees from seed. It's a long process, its like growing other fruit trees from seed and if you have done so before you know it takes years and years before any fruit even grows depending on the tree its better to buy a half grown tree in my Opinion hope that helps 💖.
My bongayan itanim
Did you try root growth powder? I have Bontone root growth powder and it works. I've done fig trees, English Ivy with it and other plants. Works great.
Yo Ruby, I am right there with you sis. Haha. Been trying different methods every now and then for a while but no success, so thanks for clearing that up! Also love your passion and style, it’s wicked.
I’ve been doing heaps of fishbone ferns lately and having decent success with that. It seems like when there is a nodule in the roots you are on to a winner. Happy propagating and good luck to ya! ☀️ 🌱
Btw, I’ve heard wild honey on the cut edge after it’s dried after cutting for an hour or two can help prevent rot. I think it works like an antiseptic.
Nice ...hari om
I have a pup from a cat palm and I'm wondering if that can be propagated cause it's not just a leaf it's a real pup but with no roots...?
Hi Ruby, saw your video, I have what I believe is a rainbow palm, I have had it in water for a long time now, too long and it has roots all over the place. It also has an offshoot with many nodes, I'm going to put it in water and hopefully, it will also grow roots. I also have a long spindly rainbow palm with a long offshoot that has nodes growing from the bottom. The other plants came from this plant. I plan to put these in water and once they grow roots divide them between several pots.
what is a rainbow palm
How’s it doing so far?
@@qxwt mine tree is a small palm tree with different colors on the outer leaves
@@armandomeza6387 haven't done anything so far, it's still in water but appears healthy.
@@cmuller4159 yellow, brown and white?
I love you Ruby ❤
Lol 😂
the long leaves one, by accident its propagate it self from a branch that once I cut and throw it away, roots just spread out into the soil
Could be wild onion or an amaryllis, these grow from a bulb and the leaves look like what u showed, I have both.
I got a cardboard palm stem today
.I was really hopeful that they can be propagated..now what to do..pl advise
Cardboard palms are propagated by seeds and can not be Propagated from a cutting sorry thats not what you want to hear did the seller sale it to you saying it can be Propagated?
Here’s why ua-cam.com/video/Mtw91h3W2Y0/v-deo.html
I have a diffrent palm tree i have cut one of the stems and have it in water for about a week already but nothing yet but the leaves are very much still green
I think it’s a Yucca Palm. Looks just like mine. I actually have a top that broke off while moving it outside after winter that I have put in soil. Hoping it will propagate.
Put it in water! I growed 4 yukka in this way! But it takes time 3 to 4 months! I put them in the water outside to the sun and when I was ready to throw them I saw they were full of roots! It's been a year from that moment and they growed very big and healthy!
Mine is still going, and looking great!
Name of plant at 6.43??
I believe you can’t grow any plant from cuttings unless the cutting has nodes that can develope some roots. It’s different with succulents but palm trees are a no
You can with roses
You are right mam I did but no result found . Even two months I waited seriously No result plantation in water impossible for palm tree
It's like an aloe leaf but not an aloe leaf ;)
The stem of my areca palm is brown and dry. I tried adjusting the way i water it and i put it to different places in my house and it still dying. Can you help me please
Hiiii it could be few things not enough sunlight bright light like from a south- or west-facing window and may last longer with some direct sunlight.or its being watered to much like many palms, areca palms are sensitive to overwatering and cannot tolerate being waterlogged or sitting in a water-saturated potting mix. Let the soil or potting mix dry out slightly between waterings. Areca palms are sensitive to fluoridated water, so should be watered with distilled water or collected rainwater. sorry this is happening to the poor baby try a few different things and see what works hope that helped you 💕
@@slightlyplantobsessed4194 but there's a chance it will go back right? Thank you so much! ❤😊
@@irishapalla657 yes 100% chance as long as the roots are not rotting or died. new leaf grow I dont know what it looks like but you can cut of the brown and it should help it grow new leafs. you can message me directly on Instagram on slightly plant obsessed 💕
I just placed cuttings in water and now I’m extremely sad 😭
If you're interested there's a plant ID app.
The reason it did not work out is either the leaf was cut out or picked up too late or you didn’t put sufficient water. Yeah I can see even at the end you have only like half of like 1 inch of water it has to be filled up to the top to stimulate the rest of the, Stem and
U have wasted one leaf but u did good
You are so beautiful 🥰
1st 2 cuttings had NOTHINK
In the second example, how can you wrap between plastic and expected the chlorophyll to survive? This is like killing the tree right there it needs to to breathe. Have you heard of chlorophyll chlorophyll needs oxygen?
You are not using a stem you are using leaves. Have you tried stems?
Not true. I took one of the side sprouts off an indoor stumped palm plant bc I wanted the baby to have true height. it totally worked. 3 years over 6ft tall & im no expert 4 sure. prolly just wet it & stuck it.
side sprouts or aka pup's do work for sure wow amazing 3years 6ft nice one thanks for sharing 👍.
I hear , it because plants like this are too simple an organism to regeneration from its cells then the complexity of a tree like and oak or willow.
Aloe plant
This is like trying to root a pine needle 😂 you can’t root palm leaves. You have to grow them from seed ...
Says who
Who died and made you boss of what can & can’t be rooted?
@@macysondheim says google
@@macysondheim says me. im right
@@qxwt you grow from propagation of offspring, I don't know what palm she's trying to grow probably a Washingtonia or something similar, these palms are normally propagated from the parent plant since seeds take too much
This is my palm tree thanks now I know you can't, take a cutting
Grows from a trunk cutting in watery soil
Mine came as a baby from Devon and it's now full size got three stems on it now
They are generally grow from seed.
Depends what palms, coconuts and date palms as well as Washingtonia are grown from propagation mainly otherwise the growth of fruits would be too slow. They are rarely grown from seeds
U crazy! 😅
Way less time took🙂
U r more beautiful than lecture
Please keep the volume of backgroud music little low...
😂
The long leave looks like a snake plant.. there’s few variety of greens and they do grow roots if you try to loosen the leaf from its base trying not to break it and then stick it in soil.. it will grow as an independent plant.
So disappointing. Royal palms are my favorite!
TL;DR You can’t
Darling, you showed all the wrong way. I’m in come on wrapping a plant in Plastic? Who told you that depriving a living breathing thing like Aleve of oxygen is gonna make it grow roots?…🙄
These are amateur methods of propagating a palm tree and it seems to me that none of those two methods are appropriate not only that but wrapping a leaf in plastic? Jesus, you gotta be kidding me.
