seeing a lot of confusion in the comments on why i jump off between phases of the final boss
the way the in-game timer works is it only counts time spent in combat - the timer starts counting as soon as you drop out of a start cage, and pauses again as soon as you beat a level, or in this case, as soon as you die
this means you dont have to spend about 5ish seconds of in-game time waiting for the boss to spawn its next wave of portals. its nothing to do with charging tristrikes, you'd get those again for the next phase even without jumping off
also about me pausing before going into the 3rd phase
1) it loses 0 time because the ingame timer at that point isnt counting
2) it gains 0 time, its not doing anything. the only reason i do it is because the portals are in like, the best possible spawn locations. which shocked me.

learned how to take out the rotator quickly bc of ur strat
(people who are wondering how it works if u take out the 3 layers that spawn in the ultimate attacks like spamming splat bombs the rotator can’t do any more ultimate attacks which makes it self destruct for some reason.)
It's interesting how strategies based around an in-game timer can differ from strategies that would be based around a real-time timer. (I'm not saying either is "more valid" than the other; I just find the differences interesting.)

@@BrothersCourage take 1 hack of damage resistance, it goes a pretty long way to reducing the amount of times where you have your armour broken
otherwise just try to remember which levels are which and always try to avoid levels you struggle on
and take vending machines whenever youre offered them

The pause before the platform might be a Splice as that is common in speed running, especially if one is trying to be the first to reach a sub number.
That is likely. I 100% agree with you.
This is not evidence of a splice. The IGT only starts to add when you drop out of the lift, so you can wait as long as you want before getting onto it. Being on sub-3 pace means you definitely want to take the time to calm your nerves down.

This is the correct reason why we jump off after every phase.
They said in another comment under this video that it's because it reduces the amount of time the in-level timer ticks down for. The in-game level timer doesn't tick down between lives, and this way it skips the delay before the next set of portals spawns.
The fact that panicking don't even react when aimed at made me think this was hacked at first. But then I remembered that I am horrible with chargers. I still can't fathom how charger mains get the shot with practically zero time to aim

3 minutes is absolute insanity
From the looks of it, they have a lot of Support Colour Chips and 5 Range Colour Chips. My guess is that the Range Chips they chose were actually Special Charge Up ones. That Chip increases your Special Gauge from inking surfaces. When you defeat each phase of the Final Boss, you already have a lot of the ground covered in your ink, and losing a life clears all of the ink that was on the stage when you respawn. So it makes logical sense why to actually fall off the stage and lose a life once the checkpoint is triggered. It is MUCH faster to do that instead of going around and covering what's left of the stage to get your Special Gauge up again.
Why to go with Marie's Pallet for the record speed-run? When you fully max out the Quick Charge Chips, your charge speed will be 5% - which is SOOO quick! Shiver, Frye and Octavio's Pallets when maxed out with those Chips will only have it be at 33-37% in terms of charge speed, which is quick.
Most of those range color chips are actually main range, those chips help with bounder as it tends to bounce pretty far away
and they also help significantly with the fish levels
