Finally, consistent P.O. Box hauls. We are one step closer to transforming him into a full time UA-camr
Yep, My plan worked back when he introduced the inbox thing😂
You'll know he's fully formed when he starts asking us to "smash that like button."

I am so glad my Mac Tonightmare made it to corrections!! Thank you Seth for making me the coolest dad to my son. We look forward to this every week!
So it was you!
@@bbrucet3 yep! I was really hoping it’d make it into the video. It was better than I could’ve ever hoped for! My son said “I’ve never been more proud”.
I had to pause the video at 14:17 to appreciate your handiwork. 👏🌛 Awesome job! 😆💀
Well done, jackal!! I'm so curious about your inspiration for the severed doll's head as a resting place for the Mac Tonight figurines... are you a fan of John Oliver? He had a whole running gag about nightmare baby dolls that washed up on a beach, with objects attached by their time in the sea... it's truly disturbing, and your work is too!! 🐾😬😊🥰

Deliberately misprpnouncing crocheted to get the known-to-be ferocious fiber artists up in arms is 10/10
It got me so mad I had to listen twice hahaha
Needle warriors are not to be skewered.
I think Seth went with the safe path of being intentionally wrong because he knows there is already too much debate over how it is pronounced. My gran used to say it as "cro-shered"
Wait - fibre artists? People paint with Metamucil??
Seth was extra sassy this week and I love it 😂
Sad that most of us won't be alive anymore next week.

I do love when Seth is building towards a joke and his smirk telegraphs it. :D
Agreed. I am also starting to see how funny he thinks his next joke will be as he is telling it somtimes too. Some times it turns into him busting up before he can get it out repeatedly. Call it an unintentional build up
Specifically, a dumb joke
My husband watched Thursday night's episode with me, but he doesn't usually watch the show and didn't get why I laughed so hard at the clip of Mike Pence shown during A Closer Look. I explained that it's a running joke.
Running joke haha nice one
Hehe nice double entendre

I showed it to my daughter and she went back and watched EVERY EPISODE
As an occasional science teacher one of my pet peeves is how the "Newton and the apple" story is routinely condensed to the point where the real story is completely lost and all that's left is "An apple fell and Newton called it gravity", which is stupid- any caveman knew that when an apple detached from a tree, a force pulled it to the ground. For anyone interested in the real story, Newton lived roughly a century after Copernicus and Galileo had found that the planets orbit the sun. By this time scientists figured the planets must be held in orbit by a force between the sun and planets, and they knew how to calculate the centrifugal force on an object in a circular path. By looking at the (relative) distances from the sun to the various planets, and the speed with which they orbited the sun, they could calculate the (relative) forces, and found that it decreased with the square of the distance between the sun and planet. What Newton added to this is that he considered the apple, and the moon orbiting the earth. From the moon's orbit, he knew the centrifugal/gravitational force pulling the moon towards the earth, and recalculated for an object near the earth's surface, and found that it matched the force on the apple. So the force that had been known on earth since the days of the cavemen was shown to be the same that was holding the planets in orbit around the sun.
Not to mention that he made many contributions apart from describing gravity -- the laws of motion, calculus, numerical analysis, fluid dynamics, and the spectrum of light come to mind.
“For anyone interested in the real story” … friend, I think you have the right audience
I found this interesting, thank you. I always tell my son that his generation will never invent anything new or make any discoveries because they're always just watching crap on TikTok. Maybe this is mean, but these sciencey guys from earlier centuries had a lot of time for thinking and look at all the stuff they came up with.
P.S. Yes, I realize that I waste my time watching stuff on UA-cam but nobody is expecting me to invent anything. I'm past my prime.
Has anybody given any thought to what happens to the apple when earth's core stops spinning and then goes the other direction? Wobble. Wobble.

Congrats on your new job! I saw in another comment that you're working in local news - I did, too. It was a transformative experience and gave me skills I still use every day despite no longer being in a newsroom. It can be exhausting and emotionally wearing at times, but nothing compares to the feeling of contributing to coverage that makes a difference to your community, including by making it possible for them to hear it! I hope you have the time of your life ✨
@@schempgirl1 Just remind yourself that being new and getting yelled at is how it goes for most new jobs, and it won't be long at all until you're the one who knows everything, and you're watching some newb screwing it all up and you'll be remembering how it was for you back in those days.
And then, to break the chain of yelling, you'll be the one to calmly tell them what was wrong and how to fix it next time, and you'll tell them them a story of some mistake you made to make them feel better, and the world will be a better place.
And then when they're the one who knows everything, they'll remember how great you were when they were new and struggling, and they'll pass that on to the next new person.
So enjoy your new job, and if you can, just keep telling yourself that it won't be long until this rough stage is just a memory. And congrats on working at your dream!
How do these keep getting better and better? The best part is that, unlike the nightly show, you're not worrying whether everyone in the audience will get each joke. You make the jokes, they're brilliant, and the people they're meant for will get them. That makes me so happy!

No worries my brothers and sisters, no one dies soon, say thank you to the digital era. I'm really worried about the crew. They saw it live. Seth should do a repeat of the show to save them. I think he means seven days till we see him again... not death 😂
Actually Sir Isaac Newton was a keen alchemist, so the whole photography/videography thing would have interested him a lot.
Fun fact: Newton believed in alchemy. Seth seems to also with his jokes.
Also wrote a treatise on optics (or "opticks," as he called it.) Glowing screens would have fascinated him!
The bit about the naked woman would be true, though. Newton died a virgin.
@@BWintJack Newton's understanding of physics is sufficient to at least get him to mid-20th century photography and filmography with a little outside help.
I feel like the notion that photonic excitation can induce electro-potential in solid materials, and that the topology and composition of said objects can be used as a medium for complex computational methods, resulting in the storage and transfer of information in replicable electrical forms and multiple kinds of material storage methods may just wind up looking like magic to him though.
And that'd just lead him straight back to alchemy, which... I mean... there aren't many alchemy rehab facilities left anymore.
Newton had the opportunity to be known for more than gravity, but he dropped the ball.
@@stephen3164 👏
As it happens, you're accidentally correct in saying that Sir Isaac Newton would be more interested in how she came down if a naked woman fell into his lap, as Newton reportedly had no romantic relationships his entire life and died a virgin. He even outright ended a friendship over a dirty joke about a nun, such was his prudishness.
Correctness is a feature, not a fluke! And Sir I believed in fairies, so the "prudery" act was more like homoerotic self-punishment. I had a teacher like that.
Seth, I just want to say corrections is the best! Keep it up and give me some more vince vaughn and owen wilson impressions!!!!

I will never get over why the roadrunner looks like an ostrich not an actual bird called a road runner
fun (?) fact: in the Polish version of the cartoon the bird is identified as an ostrich (struś)
Yep. As a kid I always tought "Roadrunner" was the name of the ostrich coyote tried to catch.
You know, like Stargazer or Skywalker.
im still pushing for a Mac Tonight flash mob staring everyone who works under him or the cast of SNL doing a whole bit.
"Starring." Normally I wouldn't, but this is Corrections.
I dropped my pen at the scream oh my lord.
And then Amelia pulled a piece of a wing out of her backpack and said, “I don’t see what all the *flap* is about. HEY-OOOOOH!”
I had my eyes closed at just the right time, but heard the scream and went back to see the image. Damn you, damn you to HELL, Seth!!?!
That’s so funny about the eagle/red tailed hawk. We have red tailed hawks around our house and I always wondered why eagles sound like hawks 😂 Sometimes I marvel at my lack of curiosity.
lmao. this is actually done with MANY things in audio editing. when you watch a movie with a car chase, you're probably not hearing that car's actual engine. Definitely not hearing that car's tires screeching. Almost everything is replaced with a better sound. But the red-tailed hawk is definitely up there as the greatest "find" in Hollywood audio. Whoever did it first did a good job!
It'll be so weird when you're in a straight jacket, sitting in a wheelchair, all comfy in the asylum, and the Sea Captain is arguing politics with Al Pacino, and the only time they get really upset is when Shoemaker interrupts, which he does very often. "Hey, you guys!" etc.
Hey everybody, *HUGE* jumpscare warning for this video. Right when the video starts, you'll see Seth isn't wearing a suit, even though he's the host of a late night show. It might give you a fright; it certainly spooked me. Just wanted everybody to be aware!
LOL "Seth Tonight"
You're actually completely right about Newton; he would definitely have ignored a naked woman. Newton was famously misogynistic, in fact, he apparently had no interest in any kind of sex. He avoided women his whole life. Near the end of his life, he said he was proud that he would die a virgin. So, yeah.
And his right hand was found to be two times larger than his left
Seth didn't say Sir Isaac would have ignored a naked woman.

I was working on a TV show on the back lot of Universal Studios in California and heard the eagle/hawk sound and thought that we were really really close to a ride just beyond the trees making a sound effect, but we weren't it was just an actual red-tailed hawk.
We have 'em flying all over the place where I live and you learn the different calls they make. Some of their juvenile calls are almost easily confused with bald eagles in fact.
The Roadrunner does not say "Meep, meep." It says "Beep, beep." It's even written out in a speech balloon in one of the episodes.
Similar tangent, different cultures have different ways of writing sound effects! I know in French comics, gun shots go "pan pan!" instead of "bang bang!" for example. It's cool to see the different types.
I showed that to my good for nothing mother-in-law and said, “seven days.” She didn’t get it lol.
Was Tiny Secret Whispers given a second season? We need a recap!

Missed opportunity to replace the beeps with Meeps.

Lol. I am 81, born the same year as Joe Biden. I tripped downstairs one time when my foot suddenly "disappeared". Well, that was how it felt. However, I regularly tripped up the stairs. My room was on the second floor, and the stairs were barely deep enough to fit my medium size feet, and I am a small woman. Often it seemed that my foot wasn't getting planted fully on the stair. This is what I saw happening to Joe. I could totally relate.
@@dragonkitty5578, doing it 4 times in a row on camera is special, though. If only he'd had toilet paper stuck to his shoe ...
I wondered why he was doing the Mac tonight material at the beginning instead of the end, but I should’ve known he was just setting us up for a brilliant payoff. So good!
BTW, is there going to be a Corrections anniversary show this year? Perhaps with us finally getting to see “Cicada, Cicada”?I. certainly hope so!
Highlight of my week when Seth reads my correction
I looked up merch and found that a vintage Seth Meyers Weekend Update bobblehead is about $21 on ebay but an old cracked foam head of mac tonight is $70. I believe if you looked into it more you would see that Mac has a higher base value than Seth.... and I dare you to tell me otherwise
