I sit here with tears streaming down my face. Glen lived- and now has died- in Dixie. His trials are indeed now over. Rip, dear man. Through your musical legacy you'll never be forgotten.
I could not agree with you more, B B. From a child I have watched and listened to this great, great artist and man. Yes his trials are over. Finally over. And he has finished very well indeed. God bless Glen and family. He will never be forgotten nor equaled.
I love this song esp the way Glen sings it. Such great emotion and tenderness. When I sing along and get to the part: glory glory hallejuah I get chills on my left side ever time! Amazing! Many songs touch my heart but that’s amazing to me. My fav version of this song. ❤️🙏👱🏻♀️
Happy Birthday beautiful Glen…22-4-24. I love to imagine that when Glen was born early on that April morn…that the sun shone brighter and the bird song was sweeter. When life gets tough for me Glen is my healer. Love always Glen. 😍
@@christysmith2908 true, Elvis brings huge power, energy and emotions into the song while Glen - being an excellent musician - ... his version seems pretty boring
Hi Bill. Yes must have been great playing with Glen especially for the BBC with the orchestra. I was just starting to learn bass around that time and watched and listened as you played on the TV shows.
I have to make regular visits to this vid because no other rendition of this song touches my soul like this one does. Even Glen's other versions can't compete with this one. Thank you for this upload, +oldgoody1 !
I hope that everyone understands the full story behind the sadness of this song. Those who fought against the republic should be mourned & so many fought & lost their lives for a way of life they would never attain nor benefit from. :-(
@@bobvocal100 please stay on the Elvis channel then. To not recognize both were great, but, different? So sad for people that can’t absorb talent. Always needing just one hero
@@normanmcneal3605 My heroes are not musicians and people I have not known personally, but after 20 years performing on stage as a solo vocalist, I do have an opinion of my own

So Wonderful Greatest Glen 👏👏👏
Incomparably stunning performance by the MASTER
I love Glenn but imo it's not as good as Elvis version

Absolute perfection ... Love from this totally smitten Brit.
That was my last trip with Glen to Merry Olde London. Wonderful memories! Fantastic orchestra to work with. :-)

Just Amazing!
Absolutely beautiful❤️
My god, peak powers. He cld sing so purely at this pt, it seems effortless.
Interesting version by Glenn. I am so used to the Elvis version.
The BBC knew how to do TV 📺 shows.
Brilliant version. Thanks for uploading. When was this performed ? 1974 or '75.
You're welcome. 1975 at the BBC in London.

This is better than Elvis
This version is nice but doesn't hold water to Elvis. Elvis is The King!!!
Elvis was good but could not compete with Glen who also was one of the finest guitar players in the world , not one talent but two!!

@@bobvocal100 that’s great bubba. This channel was not about honoring Elvis. Your bad
Yes Elvis had a great voice, charisma, good looks, and a great showman but not even close to Glen's musical talent.
