This video covers some of the basic level editing tools found in CryEngine. We recommend watching our CryEngine setup tutorial for help downloading and installing the plugins. • CryEngine3 Setup
This was very interesting and the narration was clear, well-stated, and easy to follow. It amazes me how far game creation has come - user-level game/level level design and content creation is now more complex and advanced that working with professional-level 3D modeling programs like Infini-D 4 or Ray Dream Studio way back in 2000-2003 when I was doing it. So crazy.
I use UE4, but this is probably one of your best tutorials. I would very much like to see more "conceptual" tutorials from you, rather than technical. This one was VERY helpful. Thank you.
Exceptional tutorial. Although I already knew most if not all of the content covered in this video, it was good to have a refresher. Thanks! Is there an ETA on the lighting tutorial for CryEngine?
This is an awesome tutorial and I have a suggestion for future videos... In the description it'd be super helpful to have the list of things you explain with the time link that viewers can click to quickly find the info they need. Even without that though definitely subscribing
don't care bout engine, not my job but damn the scene is beautiful, i plan to getting into environment creation in the industy, i am stuck in my learning phase, i just am not getting things done, too scared of getting my hands dirty, i know maya but need to learn substance suite, zbrush, marmoset toolbag, marvelous designer, UE4, unity, etc,
I've only just stumbled across your channel and this was a great tutorial! I have never used CryEngine before and have always used UDK. But I think this looks phenomenal.
So AWESOME... but one suggestion (and I'm guessing I'm not the only one to comment on this): Why not post your Videos in HD... instead of low-rez so we can see the "settings" on the PS Tool Bars? Otherwise... Fantastic Stuff! Thanks for Posting!
hey Futurepoly, this was an amazing video and very helpful. if you can make more videos of this tht would be awesome and teach us how to use this program even more. you explain it so clearly and i want to learn it thanks
How can i make a black game with small dots? I need it for my eye exercises but i don't know how. Most of these tutorials are for serous big game programming. It's pretty much a black background with a small yellow dot or a circle that i can give directions to. Left right up down simple as that. That should be really easy to make, right? Help please. Because then i can make exercises for myself and not adapt to other posted on UA-cam (really low number of videos).
Hey there When I put something on the ground and delete it the the shadow don't delete. He stay there and I can't do anything. So my hole map is dark cause this shadow. Please can someone help me.
can anyone help me? if i paint over a texture with a different texture, black bars start to show up like they're part of some sort of grid and it messes it up? any way i can stop this from happening?
When you say an item, such as shadows is expensive, what do you mean? Do you have to pay for each separate feature you use? Sorry if this is a stupid question!
Hi, obviously I'm not the video's creator, who I'm assuming you asked that, but I may be able to help. He is referring to that feature being "expensive" to say that it is stressful on a pc's graphics card. Having many of those lighting features would cause a lot of lag, so they should be used sparingly. Hope that helps.
mannn that's my first time i see a graphic/game making app!! actually you made me like it! but it looks pretty hard, how many years do i need to learn to be a good graphic maker?
I'm a unity user and this looks less complicated and even more fun, but do you have to pay for what you place? like with actual money, just wondering because I've been trying to develop a game with my brother and we have had a tough time finding the right editor
So whats the point of downloading game engines? What can you do in them? Is it just for spectating? Do you make maps to run around on or make fan made videos/cut scenes? Can anyone download them and do they cost anything? What is the best game engine I could run? AMD FX 6300 six core processor 3.50ghz RAM 8 gb 64 bit Windows 8 Video Card AMD Radeon R9 200 Series 4gb
Damn CryEngine is the best engineer and development tool ever I played a game which he we're developed by cryengine which name is Warface! this is amazing
haha nah, cryengine has full multithreading support now and has for awhile. It is still a demanding engine but dear god is so beautiful. i dont care what it takes, this is the one im learning
Imagine a horror game with this engine.
edit: Guys, check the date of the comment
I was just thinking that.... 2 years from you!
There already are
Check the comment date, there are barely any games with that engine 2-3 years ago.
Wait, there are any? I looked up all games made in Cry Engine and there's not one.
Sorry, I was mixing up Cry Engine to another engine.
you helped thousands of first timers wanting to create some new indie games...thanks dude!
Not a game, but a mao

Please new tutorials cry engine 5 is quite different especially if you have no clue what you are doing
I 100% agree
100000% agree i
Yeah, do Unreal Engine, it's far superior.
Yeah with that 5% royalty fee which is a bitch to know how much gross revenue you get each quarter
Cryengine 5 is far worse lmao. It hurts to say that actually.
I wish Unreal would add some of those level designer tools. The snap to surface and snap to another object's position alone are awesome!
Exceptional tutorial. Although I already knew most if not all of the content covered in this video, it was good to have a refresher. Thanks!

best tutorials ever watched.
You are a great instructor! Nice job mate. Thanks for making this video.
This program reminds me of one I had the chance to use in class called "Autodesk Inventor". The controls are similar.
Bro you should get more than 100 million subscribers. Thanks bro
Truly fascinating... A very user-friendly engine...
I've been playing around with cryengine since the first one, and thanks for all the shortcut tips ^^,
the ctrl alt shift click is awesome, they should add this in UE4
So AWESOME... but one suggestion (and I'm guessing I'm not the only one to comment on this): Why not post your Videos in HD... instead of low-rez so we can see the "settings" on the PS Tool Bars? Otherwise... Fantastic Stuff! Thanks for Posting!

11:00 if cryengine still has voxels you can use those to create overhangs and caves, i'm basing my knowledge on cryengine 2.
This is gold dude, amazing job :)
you said "how expensive the scene is"
do you have to pay to make the maps?
No, he means how much lag it may put on your computer.
You have earned yourself a new subscriber!
How do I make it so I have a fresh character and not the character with the gun and UI?

Use gamemaker studio
Are the assets from the sample project free to use in commercial games?
Are all the assets in the engine free for commercial use?
How do you finish you're project and test it out?
Will I lag badley if I download this and I don't have a good enough computer, or can I just turn the graphics setting donw to the lowest?
Hey there
When I put something on the ground and delete it the the shadow don't delete. He stay there and I can't do anything. So my hole map is dark cause this shadow. Please can someone help me.
Can I make TPS, or isometric games with this engine?
What do you mean by "this is a vary expensive option" around time stamp 16:15 minutes when you are talking about shadows from lighting?
can anyone help me? if i paint over a texture with a different texture, black bars start to show up like they're part of some sort of grid and it messes it up? any way i can stop this from happening?
Try painting with the hardness set to zero. This way it keeps the default ground colors.
that`s awesome is this the Steam version?
Hi. Do you have any updates videos for CryEngine?
what do I do if I downloaded the engine through steam
Is there a way of opening this scene on CE 5.3?

I am interested... I may start learning this soon, I dont have much time for now
All 70s, 80s and early to mid 90s games never used WASD keys instead they used arrow keys or joystick.
Tutorial? Nice!
mannn that's my first time i see a graphic/game making app!! actually you made me like it! but it looks pretty hard, how many years do i need to learn to be a good graphic maker?
Nicely made
Can you create a game on the free version and play it???
Hi, I am a new developer and started out with Unity, and then Unreal Engine 4. Do you think that this engine is better than Unreal?
Also, does it have included assets such as materials, skeletal meshes, and such?
I'm a unity user and this looks less complicated and even more fun, but do you have to pay for what you place? like with actual money, just wondering because I've been trying to develop a game with my brother and we have had a tough time finding the right editor
gabriel waters kinda late but... its free :)
sweet, thanks for replying either way :)
Why does my map don't look as realistic and detailed as this one? I'm using cry engine 3 :s
i've got the same question. Anyone who knows the answer?
It's matter how good pc you have,Bro
E3_Smasher inc
but would the final result be the same?
Daniel Gonzalez
obvious question coming up, but have you set the 'config spec' to (very high) ?
you might have it on medium or low
Yeah, i did.
as a star citizen backer I came her to understand what CIG has to do or how cryengine works.. I think they modified it though to star engine.
great video man. keep it coming please!! great help
Is this program Mac compatible?
Wow this tutorial is very good
is it cryengine 3 or 4 ???
minimum processor required to ply cryengine??
is cry engine SDK?
How do you create geometry ?
Nice tutorial thanks
WASD is only standard for right-handers. Arrow-keys are important for lefties!
+Jianju69 yes
HOW DO YOU GUYS JUMP?!?!?!?? OR RELOAD?!?!?!?! OR INTERACT WITH STUFF?!?!?! OR CROUCH!?!??!?!
I usually use the '0'-key on the NumPad for jump. Maybe I'd use right-ctrl for reload; it depends on the game, I guess.
Jianju69 Thanks for not getting mad xD its actually really interesting to hear about how left handed gamers play.
orley LOL, anyone who gets mad about questions on the Internet needs to chill.
This game engine reminds me of the Far Cry 4 map editor.
+Matthew S Far Cry is made with Cryengine
it should be a fucking law that outdated tutorials GET DELETED so they dont waste peoples time
Do u need any Crysis part to do this?
no you can download the free SDK here www.crydev.net/dm_eds/download_detail.php?id=4
I don't have any levels except my test level when I open level.
It's interesting how similar the UI is to 3dsmax... 0_o
Fantastic, thanks a lot!
So whats the point of downloading game engines? What can you do in them? Is it just for spectating? Do you make maps to run around on or make fan made videos/cut scenes? Can anyone download them and do they cost anything? What is the best game engine I could run?
AMD FX 6300 six core processor 3.50ghz
RAM 8 gb
64 bit Windows 8
Video Card AMD Radeon R9 200 Series 4gb
Jessie T You make a game with a game engine.
You bring all the elements of a game together. Scripting, art and animations
And you could run any game engine, only it may not look as good as this
Brilliant
Awesome.
Realtime viewport looks better than many renders ive seen...
hy guys i am new
can any one teach me how to use cryengine 5 on daily basis plz
cry engine is free?
So cool
wonderful :)
Link to the sdk won't work for me!
Oh bummer, looks like they took it down. You might have to get the version on Steam or find the link from a reputable site. Thanks for the heads up.
Futurepoly Aww, that's unfortunate. I guess I'll have to find another way to obtain it. If I do, I'll make sure to notify you in the future.
Spark did you find a way to obtain this asset?
Liked and subscribed.
i've never heard anyone say WASD keys like that before

Cry engine is like if unity and unreal had a baby
unity 5 is also good dont underestimate it. its just we dot know how to make wonders with it
Thanks a lot ;)
Can you sell games on steam, mad with this sandbox
If you buy the steam version yes, however you need a steam licence to sell games unless this changed when greenlight came out :P

Damn CryEngine is the best engineer and development tool ever I played a game which he we're developed by cryengine which name is Warface! this is amazing
Cryengine has one problem.
You need a Space Computer to run this.
nah
so true
It is so much more performant than UE, I used them both for quite some time.
haha nah, cryengine has full multithreading support now and has for awhile. It is still a demanding engine but dear god is so beautiful. i dont care what it takes, this is the one im learning
it has been two days and still cryengine's essential things are still downloading
