It's impossible to explain just how big Dane was unless you were there. He would have families listening to a comedy special on a road trip instead of music. His peak was higher than anyones ever
I’ve grown another love for Dane from his podcast appearances. Such a down to earth, funny, honest guy it seems. The wisdom he’s grown over the years shows and I respect that.
I have watched countless podcasts where people talk to Dane Cook and I've never rarely seen a host get as much out of him as Santino did here. Fantastic job on this one. I think Santino's interview/conversation skills are underrated.
Santino is great at setting the tone and stage and letting the guest talk. He’s not constantly interrupting. I bet he’s taken notes from Sean at hot ones!
For me it was the beginning of UA-cam, being 7/8 years old finding MS paint animated videos of his bits. I watched them so much, memorized them and would retell them at school. Some really amazing memories there. My first intro to standup comedy was Dane 🎉❤
I just want to add, that it's really good to see comedians like Andrew Santino, Theo Von, etc starting to touch on more serious subject matters from time to time. It's very impressive. I love seeing this evolvement .
I have some many bits from vicious circle memorized. My brothers and I still quote it to this day. The first comedy special I would regularly go back to and rewatch. I even had some of his stuff on my ipod. Dane is definitely one of my gateways into stand up.
I am towards the end of this interview and I’m so excited to watch Dane’s new special right after this. Dane, you were my absolute favorite along side Hedberg back in the day and I’m just so happy to see you back in the game at full force after all the hardships you’ve gone through. Really blessed to be able to enjoy your work again man. All positive, no stalker! ;)
Dane and Cheeto if you see this thank you for this get together. Retaliation is still one of my favorite comedy specials. Bring Dane to bad friends please.
I got into a warzone lobby with Dane recently. It was crazy! He even killed my brother lol. I was so excited to be in a video game with one of my earliest comedy idols.
6th grade I wasn’t allowed to listen to Dane’s two disc retaliation CD but then in 7th grade I stole it out of my sisters room and my comedy life was changed forever. Love you Dane & Tino!! 💪🏽
My buddies and I still accidentally talk like Dane. So much so that it’s weird hearing him talk. Like he’s an old friend I’ve never met before. Love you, Dane.
Dane Cook really did walk so all the guys we love now could run. Tough to imagine the Santinos and Schultz's and Dillons without him. Great ep!! Glad to see DC back out and about!
Am I the only one that experienced the audio quality dip at 1:07:24 ? Don’t see anyone else talking about it and I’ve tried to rewatch it several times with the same issue.
Apparently people hated on Dane Cook for awhile but long before I was really into comedy I was really into his stuff. I STILL - 15 years later, think about his bits on a weekly basis, or a line will pop into my head like "let's do this I'm a cashew" for a random reason. That's pretty incredible. "Thanks for the candy."
I still think of the bit from vicious circle where he comes home from cheating and the hardwood floors know about it and every squeak in the floor sounds like "cheeeeeeeater"
I grew up in a very confrontational home as well, hearing Dane describe these situations hits home. I never really realized what normal is until I got married and settled down later in life too, I just never realized it

in my early 20s and have only gotten into comedy within the past year and a half so don’t know much about Dane beyond hearing his name a lot but he’s a real one for shouting out Andor up top like that. Fantastic show that I wish got way more attention.
The breaking and entering bit is what got me in to comedy. A story like that, and better yet, DELIVERED the way he did. That’s what I found for the first time as stand up.
Growing up in the early 2000 Dane cook introduced me to stand up comedy… someone I downloaded limewire clips from , and now podcasting with my current favorite podcaster\actor we are lucky fans
Core childhood memory- My brother calling us over to the family computer showing us a message Dane Cook responded to on Facebook. We were a BIG Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin family, that moved to Dane Cook and Jim Gaffigan in the early ‘00

Dane was my introduction to comedy. Dominated the internet in the late 90's, early 2000s.
Dane awakened my childhood fear of chainsaws and redneck cannibals.
Same!
Same! Came to my college in 2003 for FREE. It was unbelievable.

Him and Jeff Dunham. Household name wise
man, Dane's voice still hits. something about it, there's a kind of familiarity to it. i love his cadence.
Dane Cook is the man. He came to FOB Diamondback in Northern Iraq in 2008 when I was there and really lifted our spirits. 🤘🇺🇲
Thank you for your service
@HeyYaKnow
Thank you ❤
Diamondback, where was that? I was at Qwest In '06. Good times ....kinda... not really, I lied about that part.

Perfect pod for Dane to be on, andrews sillyness and emotional intelligence was a great foundation for this conversation
couldnt agree more on the emotional intelligence, you see a lot of that on display on bad friends
