The boys are so cute. How adorable when Kian sang to his daddy. Adanna your German sounds good. When our kids were little the dad only spoke German and I spoke English. When we lived in SA and the kids went to German school we concentrated on German cause the environment was English and Afrikaans anyway. In Europe we changed the setup. Today all are super trilingual. Keep it up.

I also wonder why you are targeting black Americans specifically, when America consists of many, many other ethnic groups who only know how to speak one language and oftentimes it is not English, never mind U.K. English.
Because my best friends that I met here on utube are black Americans. One visited me last week and we were having this conversation because she adores my culture and we're happy to meet other blacks from Tanzania and Caribbean but she complain on how she felt so lost. We went to the London as her second flight were from there for the weekend. She could not understand the seller because she ask to buy a pants and got panties she didn't know it's called a trousers. All this to say, you do not have to take a comment as something negitive when it is not, but something to forge ahead. I just realize for the first time that it's normal to be here in Europe and can see any black person who can help you find your direction in another language but you can't in America but it's possible.

I took German for 3 years and it’s been 2 years since I stopped. I thought I didn’t learn much but I actually was understanding what he said (although the caption helped refresh my memory)
So love you guys. You both have such good energy. The kids are allowed to be kids and you make such sweet room for them to communicate their innocent reality so respectfully. I love that you have dinner together after the children are fed and asleep. That's such a healthy ritual and so beautiful. David's German was great.
