Should just spun out in the grass instead of saving it that sucks tho man atleast it’s a learning experience
This is why I haven't turned off TC at the track yet.. I haven't really learned countersteer correction and it can cost me my car...or my life.
Countersteering shouldn't be this difficult. The car is way too twitchy compared to ones I've experienced in the past. Don't be scared to give it a shot and learn with small gradual corrections.
@@scpagent086 yep, no doubt. A longer wheelbase when paired with the right chassis tuning and smooth power delivery makes it easy and confidence inspiring to pull off skids.
Just did my first track day in an ND2 last weekend. The first 3 sessions I did TC on. The last 2 I did TC off. Because I’m such a novice I’m doing most the track at 7/10th, especially in areas of high consequence (no runoffs or higher speeds) so it felt pretty safe to experiment on low consequence corners (and when no one is nearby) letting the car move ever so slightly more. AutoX is also good for testing no TC control with low consequence but it’s lower seat time and harder to focus on individual things while also trying to set good times. This all assumes you’re driving something similar to a Miat. If I was driving a 400hp+ rwd beast I might also be hesitant to take off TC in any condition.
Was about to say oh no not again, but thankfully just a past highlight lol
I actually crashed it again few months after this when getting coached how not to crash it again like this :D But it was in lower speed with almost no extra damage.
Left right left right threw you into the wall, I don’t blame you though, I would have freaked out too. Glad you’re ok man.
Man, wish could put all the people saying they coulda saved this in driver seat and see how many do. I’ve had some rough tank slappers and spins over uniform surfaces in the ND, let alone when you have the car transitioning between 3 or 4 different surfaces (track, strip, concrete, grass/dirt).
Everyone says the Miata is “uncrashable” but I feel like that is a dangerous over simplification. It’s only _less_ crashable and can for sure bite during drastic maneuvers. Started Autocross this year and it’s made me more careful on street because I’ve had plenty of situations where I lost the car unexpectedly on course.
Bro saved it then panicked and ruined the save 💀
Never been on the track, I’m guessing over correction on the steering by the looks of it
Dont feed the wheel when you are on the track hahahhaa
Unfortunate, you had it in the beginning. Maybe if you release your foot off the gas a little more you would of gained enough traction for the first correction to be effective. Also unfortunate that you lost the position of the steering wheel and overcorrected, which aggrevated the situation. At the end of the day just be glad your safe, everyone makes mistakes
Makes me sad watching that. Glad you weren't seriously hurt. Wish the car wasn't either.
I wasn't hurt at all. The car had damaged steering and a ton of cosmetic damage but I managed to get it running again in less than three weeks.
@@OKMX5how bad was a crash like that in terms of cost / time? taking mine to the track soon and very curious
@@coryagami6391 I didn't fix the visual damage and fixing the functional parts was about $3000.
@@OKMX5oh is that DIY cost? once you start tracking it regularly did you just sort of start to ignore fixing cosmetic damage? with the thin SRC paint it gets little dings and scratches just from cruising around so I'd imagine tracking it would just be too much of a pain to keep up w all the dings
@@coryagami6391 it was done in a non-Mazda repair shop. I never did any cosmetic fixes, there is some small paint damage on the hood but other parts of the car are fine.
Usually people don’t say this after a crash but good job
That sucks and can happen to anybody at times . Good thing is you are alright.
Grip was just too good
Notice something in your driving around corners..even in your old videos ..your turning too fast with the steering. Its a rwd let it steer it self and ease up off the gas...
I do not see a problem with steering here, no sudden inputs. The problem was too much gas too early.
@@OKMX5 that's not true.. way too much input. You counter-steered far too much. I've lost it in the same spot several times on a couple different cars. Almost crashed the formula mazda due to over steering akin to what you did here. Over the years I've learned that, especially in very light cars, being lighter on the steering in king. Even when you are in grip, being steady about opening up in the corners will make the weight of the car less dynamic.
Was savable but as I can see he panicked which is so bad to do in this position but is understandable
How do you prevent this? It was snapping all over the place. You coulda just skid into the grass but yn how would somone recover
Staying on the track would be very difficult, you would have to do perfect countersteers, not overcorrect like I did.
I see a few things wrong and the main being that you panicked. This could of been corrected easily if you stayed calm. It’s happened to me in my Miata as well but at the end of the day I’m glad your safe and keep practicing
Over over over over over corrected.
That situation i would say f it and turn the wheel fully to the grass
Its a learning experience. Sucks but youll bounce back.
My personal advice is less steering input, more throttle modulation. Keep tracking tho bro 🫡
Always slow and go head on in the dirt
you panicked and over corrected. all good. when you track it’s gonna happen sooner or later. you’ll learn.
No shit if turn the steer fully around 😂
Terrible control ....over compensated
I had one incident where i spun out and my immediate reaction was to slam on the brakes
Hella over corrected
as long as we learn from them, mistakes are part of the game.not just in racing, but life itself.
bro took too much kerbs
Outch ! Ça fait mal 😬
👍
Sorry dude
over correction. should have lift the hand brake and let go of the steering wheel. The dirt on the Left rear tyre makes LSD kick in and steer to right when you added the steering it goes crazy right.
How bro
Oh no I’m sorry man
You know as a professional, all I can say, it happens man sometimes you think it’s fine till it ain’t fine and boom like yeah can happen to anyone I’ve lost control a couple of time I just keep getting lucky salvaging the situation back into control
Driver error
Traction control is off I suppose?
Pretty dumb question honestly you don’t go fast at the track with trac. on
@@Agilepickleuniteit's not really a stupid question. Some racing series allow for tc
Зачееем
Ну каааак
Oh yeah that last snap is so relatable
Oof
Ah bro you should let off the gas way sooner you could have saved it
The safest way to save it was to let it go straight into the gravel trap. The right way to save it was to reduce throttle (but not let off completely) and countersteer properly.
Lol dude you literally had it back on the track and panicked it’s cool it happens to the best of US. But because you didn’t let off the accelerator you are applying power to the rear wheels AS you are whipping the wheel side to side trying to save it. All that dose it make you start loosing more control. That’s why you went from doing small wheel movements to big huge ones before finally crashing. But hey man your the one who smacked the wall so let em take your advice to keep on the gas when you know your loosing control 😂
No problem This is how Beginner drive in the corner
is this stock? Or is this tuned? If it's tuned, how much HP? and what tune? What mods?
During this time it was not tuned, now it is. Each of my videos has a description with all mods at the time.
Just let go of steering wheel completely next time. It will stop the tank slapping on its own.
Dang should have been more clam all that grabbing and turning in unnecessary directions caused it people get too panicky same thing happened too me with my lifted Wrangler TJ in a Back Road i just chilled and moved left and right 4x total Moving Softly but Quick and softly hit the Brakes with each Turn without Braking Hard (even if you Want too will lock up Brakes and kick the back even more) all while having a 4 inch lift 35 inch tires made it out good but definitely calmed down after a bit was my first RWD you also moved the wheel too fast and Hard
Silly sausage
Worst driver ever. You had it! Then you oversteered and basically gunned it. Seemed suicidal tbh. Thumbs down!
Super oversteering
Ran out of talent. Went too wide, over corrected. Easily done.
Ran out of talent about half way through the corner, for a race track that's pretty much an average speed impact for a car that powerfull, ..
as i can see in your rpm, it was too much gas i suppose during turn in
Amateur
Lol learn to drive
@@louiedoee he is already learning with a coach on how not to crash in his last comment , you forgot we all make mistake
