Im from a country way up north. I met my Filipina wife in her resort in Palawan and she had a wonderful stray dog called Odjo she was the one take care of him bath him in the ocean and then shampoo in fresh water Cut nails and prepare food and water. He accepted me directly and my wife said he didnt do that to every body even Filipinos. It was a fantastic dog with such good maners . He even helped me find around town well atleast how to get back:) Odjo is gone but we will for ever remember him for the good times,and even maybe putting us together.. I am sure u guys will have only good memories from this to Salamat. And Im a follower now

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for nursing Lily 🧡🐶🧡. She is such a sweetheart! I love animals too and yes, strays are a huge problem here. Not just dogs but cats as well. My cat was a stray too, and i am also feeding 2 others. And these are just from my neighborhood! What the government should really do is to spay and neuter them esp cats coz they multiply so easily. (I had a cat when i was a kid who was always getting pregnant, lol). But i guess the government just doesn't have enough funds for that. I mean let's face it, we have many beggars too in the streets esp here in Metro Manila. If the government couldn't help (all of) them, then much less these strays. Anyway, at least you guys, and Jonathan, were able to help some of them. So again, thank you! And i hope you find a good loving home for Lily like what Jonathan did for the kitties. 😻
I'm Canadian. I'm a dog lover. I'm still recovering after the loss of my 11-year-old dog; It hurts me deeply. I also love cats. This world would be a better place if we take care of these adorable animals around us. They feel love, care, fear and pain. I support you guys!

My grandfather save a lot of dog in the Philippines we have a big property they are very loyal until my grandfather dies but we still keep doing it adopt cat and dog back home we love dog and cats until this day thank you guys for saving lily

I applaud you2 for being truthful when you see things for what it is. When I moved here from the US I saw so many unacceptable problems that the 🇵🇭 have. They are very hard to fathom/comprehend. It’s unbelievably sad to see so many stray dogs and cats. I cringe when I see people throwing trash everywhere. Too many to mention but these are just the two of many endless problems. I hope that there will be solutions to all these 🇵🇭🙏
@@emilio2020 I guess all you want to hear is all the good things that the tourists see, but not the negative side that can be corrected, but you don't want to hear about it. People love pets and go out of their way to do something about it, maybe you grew up seeing things like this and find it normal and it doesn't bother you.
I understand what you are feeling I myself hate some ofmy fellow countrymen even they take care thier pets here yet i noticed they tend to abuse them by putting them in a very cramp cage or so so short leash that the the poor dogs almost cannot move comfortably,that i rather see them free and roaming but that's the reality here in the Philippines most people can't really take care properly our own local dogs or even cats maybe becoz they are so many of them and it's costly to bring them to vets so they are just being ignored if they are sick or something. But I really thank you,Godbless your heart for caring and helping Lily you are one of the few foreigners that gives their time and care to our local dog in need of help,but I don't judge those who don't Becoz as i say even the locals here tend to just ignore them and deaf to their cry of help.
You did great in helping the dog! 😊 Yes it is true, there are so many stray cats and dogs and they scavenge for leftover food. There are lots also in our neighborhood, I also give them water and food when I see them. Some don't care much about pets, so they are not concerned about them.

You are 200% true and correct about the cruelty of many filipinos to dogs and cats, i myself here in my place experienced the same, i fed 2 dogs and 2 puppies outside my house that's the only help i gave to them, because i have no work or income. I always cry and get angry to people who abandoned their dogs and cats and saw them so pitiful wandering and looking for food and water in the streets. So many people here are cruel to animals. Shame on them!

Thank you! We’ve thought about it a lot and the problem we’re facing is it will be incredibly tough to travel with a dog. We’re trying to find someone who can adopt her and give her love here in Bohol. If it was easy to travel with her we would adopt her but it’s so hard
Reason being is that due to poverty, people in our country look after their own empty tummy first before looking after animals... it's a sad reality here in our country...

Thanks guys, it’s been hard but so worth it. It’s so strange how normal it is for us to see stray dogs now compared to when we first started travelling. Makes us appreciate the animal rescue in the UK
Some of our dogs didn't receive any treatment for vaccination against rabies to people getting hurt but we treat these dogs as saviors that gives us a lot of fun to play with neighbors dogs as well.
The dogs are so sweet. We’ve always stayed very cautious with them because we know not all of them have been vaccinated so we usually give food and walk away and then come back each day and see if the dog is receptive to kindness and if not, then we continue to just leave food for them
I can hear from your voice Dion that you are hurting for Lily. I couldn't agree more that my country has a big problem on stray dogs. There are many non-government organizations who offers spaying and neutering for free of charge, or a little donation, yet many dog/cat owners are still irresponsible and didn't want to take the initiative.
It’s heartbreaking and we would really love to keep her but it makes travelling so hard if we have a dog😞 we’ve seen many wonderful organisations offering the spaying service for free but it’s surprisingly not as popular as we thought it may be
You're both good hearted people. I pray all people who are concerned about suffering humans and unborn children, are at least equally as concern for animals. Abortion and human abuse and lack of care is cared about less than concern for animals. Let's be concerned much for both. But what about concern for rats, insects and bacteria? Most stray dogs in the Philippines live good lives. They're almost the community's dogs. They get fed somehow and that's why they hang around and mostly friendly to everyone. Also, some of them are not really stray. They go back home every night and back to where the tourists are during the day.
Stray dogs and cats are a problem in the Philippines. while I was watching your vlog I thought that foreigners like you are really concerned about stray dogs and cats. I agree with you guys. Neutering dog is not yet in place as a law in the entire Philippines. In some areas, I know the government gives free neutering. I hope it will be remedied soon. I believe animal lovers are kind people. We love you guys 😊❤
I've heard that stray dogs are also a problem in eastern europe. The country already have the laws on animal cruelty and responsible pet ownership and we are having an on and off spaying an castration program but with out foreign help we might not have the money for the programs. Many times there are filipinos who take in a puppy or a kitten but not prepared for the dog or the cat they will soon become and if they are not neutered their owners are also not prepared for the litters. Thats why we are having programs to teach people responsible pet ownership.
The programs are a good idea so that people can get a bit more education around caring for pets. It would be great if the government could do mass spaying programs more regular to try and control the pregnancies

The culture is different. I’m the US but when I come there I see dogs or cats all over. No food no water. You can go to jail if you do that up here. But if you go to BCG.. it’s a different culture. It’s about money!
Bohol must have a public center for animals (dogs and cats) just like here in Manila. You can go to that barangay or in the city to surrender that dog in the authority and they will take care of it. Thanks for taking care that dog. For info there are lots of cats in BGC but they are being fed.
We have been told by locals if we report the dog here she will be taken to the pound and put down, and all of the shelters are currently full so we are trying to find somebody to adopt her

Wow, that's so, so sad to know how bad it is there, guys! I apologize to my birth country for treating GOD’s given creatures like they do! I wonder if there's a Humane Society like here in the US where you could take Lily to be taken care of and get adopted. I give a monthly donation to ASPCA and the International Humane Society to care for and save these innocent animals. You know, when you spell “Stressed” backward, it's Desserts” and “Dog” for “God.” I wish that someday when I get a chance to revisit there, perhaps I can check out their “Humane Society.” My husband and I can't travel overseas because we have three precious fur babies, and we can't imagine leaving them here for months since we have that opportunities since we're retirees! It’s true there are many stray dogs and cats in the Philippines…many people are still not educated about animals and government is not implementing enough laws and protection …some cities like Davao where I grew up…gives more stricter laws to owners of the animals….im so happy lily have found you ! watching from France ✌🏼🇫🇷

I applaud you2 for being truthful when you see things for what it is. When I moved here from the US I saw so many unacceptable problems that the 🇵🇭 have. They are very hard to fathom/comprehend. It’s unbelievably sad to see so many stray dogs and cats. I cringe when I see people throwing trash everywhere. Too many to mention but these are just the two of many endless problems. I hope that there will be solutions to all these 🇵🇭🙏

I understand what you are feeling I myself hate some ofmy fellow countrymen even they take care thier pets here yet i noticed they tend to abuse them by putting them in a very cramp cage or so so short leash that the the poor dogs almost cannot move comfortably,that i rather see them free and roaming but that's the reality here in the Philippines most people can't really take care properly our own local dogs or even cats maybe becoz they are so many of them and it's costly to bring them to vets so they are just being ignored if they are sick or something. But I really thank you,Godbless your heart for caring and helping Lily you are one of the few foreigners that gives their time and care to our local dog in need of help,but I don't judge those who don't Becoz as i say even the locals here tend to just ignore them and deaf to their cry of help.

You did great in helping the dog! 😊 Yes it is true, there are so many stray cats and dogs and they scavenge for leftover food. There are lots also in our neighborhood, I also give them water and food when I see them. Some don't care much about pets, so they are not concerned about them.

You are 200% true and correct about the cruelty of many filipinos to dogs and cats, i myself here in my place experienced the same, i fed 2 dogs and 2 puppies outside my house that's the only help i gave to them, because i have no work or income. I always cry and get angry to people who abandoned their dogs and cats and saw them so pitiful wandering and looking for food and water in the streets. So many people here are cruel to animals. Shame on them!

Thank you! We’ve thought about it a lot and the problem we’re facing is it will be incredibly tough to travel with a dog. We’re trying to find someone who can adopt her and give her love here in Bohol. If it was easy to travel with her we would adopt her but it’s so hard

Some of our dogs didn't receive any treatment for vaccination against rabies to people getting hurt but we treat these dogs as saviors that gives us a lot of fun to play with neighbors dogs as well.
The dogs are so sweet. We’ve always stayed very cautious with them because we know not all of them have been vaccinated so we usually give food and walk away and then come back each day and see if the dog is receptive to kindness and if not, then we continue to just leave food for them
I can hear from your voice Dion that you are hurting for Lily. I couldn't agree more that my country has a big problem on stray dogs. There are many non-government organizations who offers spaying and neutering for free of charge, or a little donation, yet many dog/cat owners are still irresponsible and didn't want to take the initiative.
It’s heartbreaking and we would really love to keep her but it makes travelling so hard if we have a dog😞 we’ve seen many wonderful organisations offering the spaying service for free but it’s surprisingly not as popular as we thought it may be

Most stray dogs in the Philippines live good lives. They're almost the community's dogs. They get fed somehow and that's why they hang around and mostly friendly to everyone. Also, some of them are not really stray. They go back home every night and back to where the tourists are during the day.
Yes we’ve seen a few dogs who look very well fed still sitting around restaurants looking for food haha
They are community dogs like feral cats. What they need is spay and neutered. So they don’t multiply as much.

I agree with you guys. Neutering dog is not yet in place as a law in the entire Philippines. In some areas, I know the government gives free neutering. I hope it will be remedied soon. I believe animal lovers are kind people. We love you guys 😊❤
I've heard that stray dogs are also a problem in eastern europe. The country already have the laws on animal cruelty and responsible pet ownership and we are having an on and off spaying an castration program but with out foreign help we might not have the money for the programs. Many times there are filipinos who take in a puppy or a kitten but not prepared for the dog or the cat they will soon become and if they are not neutered their owners are also not prepared for the litters. Thats why we are having programs to teach people responsible pet ownership.
The programs are a good idea so that people can get a bit more education around caring for pets. It would be great if the government could do mass spaying programs more regular to try and control the pregnancies

The culture is different. I’m the US but when I come there I see dogs or cats all over. No food no water. You can go to jail if you do that up here.
But if you go to BCG.. it’s a different culture. It’s about money!

Bohol must have a public center for animals (dogs and cats) just like here in Manila. You can go to that barangay or in the city to surrender that dog in the authority and they will take care of it. Thanks for taking care that dog. For info there are lots of cats in BGC but they are being fed.
We have been told by locals if we report the dog here she will be taken to the pound and put down, and all of the shelters are currently full so we are trying to find somebody to adopt her

Because in Phil esp province area we just give dogs freedom to play outside, that's why you see dogs ouside, sorry lily get well soon.

Wow, that's so, so sad to know how bad it is there, guys! I apologize to my birth country for treating GOD’s given creatures like they do! I wonder if there's a Humane Society like here in the US where you could take Lily to be taken care of and get adopted. I give a monthly donation to ASPCA and the International Humane Society to care for and save these innocent animals. You know, when you spell “Stressed” backward, it's Desserts” and “Dog” for “God.” I wish that someday when I get a chance to revisit there, perhaps I can check out their “Humane Society.” My husband and I can't travel overseas because we have three precious fur babies, and we can't imagine leaving them here for months since we have that opportunities since we're retirees!
