The last game seemed especially entertaining.. How did Magnus even find ...f5 in that position as Black as I had to agree with Robert, David and the Eval. Bar...the position looked so bad for Magnus ...but no ....here comes ...f5 ...that the computers didn't like either but ..that was the beginning of another Stunning Magnus Win! ..unbelievable

I really wanted to see how Magnus would win this position. you can't just exchange a bishop and a pawn to a rook. the computer finds couple of lines for Magnus to push and for Firouzia to defend - but what would be best human moves - I'll never know : ))

      @@TheViking75
Long post - summary in last paragraph.
Your post made me curious about WC results since Carlsen first became one so I did some reading. It's more one-sided than I realized.
Magnus started his current streak at #1 rated in July 2011. He skipped candidates in 2011, then won it in 2013, got to challenge Anand and became WC that year. Since winning it...
there's been 9 world blitz championships, of which Carlsen won 6
there's been 9 world rapid championships, of which Carlsen won 5
there's been 5 world classical championships. Carlsen defended the title 4 times and declined playing to defend it on the last run - citing dissatisfaction with the format and prep involved. He confirmed this after finding out he would have fought Nepo, who Carlsen had won against decisively last cycle. He had been hoping to match Alireza who's style of play he's a big fan of.
Of the world championships since he first became WC, Magnus has won 16/24. Not bad.
The only other currently active players with multiple WC wins in the same format are the legendary Anand (won classical WC 4 times before being dethroned by Carlen, and won rapid WC 2 times, amazingly one was in 2017 at age 47!) and Alexander Grischuk (won blitz WC 3 times, most recently in 2015).
Vasyl Ivanchuk and Sergey Karjakin have both won a blitz WC and rapid WC each.
So for active players with multiple WC wins we have:
      Magnus 16
Anand 6 (once while Magnus was competing)
Alexander Grischuk 3 (twice while Magnus was competing)
Sergey Karjakin 2 (both times Magnus was competing)
Vasyl Ivanchuk 2 (once while Magnus was competing)
There are another 5 players who've won a single WC event Magnus competed in:
Lê Quang Liêm, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Daniil Dubov, Nodirbek Abdusattorov.
If we extend this to chess variants we can add two names:
Wesley So and Hikaru Nakamura have each won 1 FIDE 960 (slow rapid) championship that Magnus was participating in.
Additionally Ding Liren won the most recent classical WC, which is the one WC event since 2013 that Carlsen didn't participate in.
So while Magnus is by no means guaranteed to win a WC, it's also true that no one is consistently fighting him for that top spot.
Worth noting the WC medal comparison should only be considered in light of the active players since Magnus started competing for WCs. Anand ends up included here because his reign directly proceeded Magnus. Obviously there are many legendary players that are not counted here because there they are not currently active, or out of prime. This is very much a recent player comparison. I chose to not compare inactive players directly to Magnus because it would be an unfair comparison. The frequency of WC tournaments has increased dramatically (there were almost no rapid or blitz WC matches prior to 2012 for example, but they are now held annually) and someone like Kasparov or Anand among with many other greats would be completely undersold by a medal count comparison since they basically only had a WC classical title to compete for every few years.
In terms of classical world championship wins Lasker, Karpov, and Kasparov won 6. Botvinnik, Anand and Carlsen won 5. Only Carlsen and Anand (50+) are not retired right now, and neither seem interested in fighting for the title again. It's a bit unfortunate since Carlsen was a clear favorite in a rematch with Nepo which would have left him with only one more WC defence left to set a new record of 7 WC wins. But it's his life and he said he hated the endless engine preparation for it, so I can't blame him for being done with it after a decade.
Last note: I didn't research it heavily, but I'm pretty sure Carlsen has not performed as consistently in other prestigious tournaments. That said I'm not sure there's any non world title events that he always plays. He also seems to care a lot more about the FIDE world events based on his appearances. Only so many tournaments you can play in a year after all.
TL;DR: Won 16 of the 24 WC titles since 2013. Sergey Karjakin and Alexander Grischuk are only two players who won more than one (they won 2 each) WC tournament since Magnus started competing in them.
