Kirstie was 3-4 months pregnant at this time, but hadn’t disclosed it yet. There’s another fan cam of this song at another venue where she struggled to keep it together without crying. Only is hindsight did folks realize why. ❤❤
To clarify, the band knew about her pregnancy, but it hadn’t yet been announced publicly.
Scott's Dad was so nervous for this but was such a touching performance although not the best quality but I still love it. Thank you 🙏🏾❤

This one is so special. For everyone who has seen the Parent-Con 2019??? I think. You saw the parents of the 5 and really got to know Pentatonix on a different level. You realize how close Scott, Mitch, and Kirstie were in HS. It's great!! ❤
Thanks, Nick! Scott is very close to his parents, especially his mom. He's played his new releases ( before release date) over the phone to his mom and pretty much every time they get to visit him or he visits them they find the time to pose with Mark and he for lots of pics. There's also a few tik toks out there with the whole family.
Mind you...all of them are very close to their parents. Many fans have seen backstage photos or life event times with some or one of the band's parent's in the pics.
They are good people, the members of Ptx, and when you have good a loving family, you should be a better person, I think one of the reason they keep very normal, humble persons are because their families.
Such a heartfelt song! So this video is from PTX Weekly News channel. She also has a 10-ish minute clip of some of the behind the scenes from this concert (compiled from the band's various social media accounts). It was their final concert of the Evergreen Christmas tour in 2021, and was a hometown show for the Trio, so Scott's whole family and Mitch's family were there I'm not sure if Kirstie's mom was at this one or the night before--they had two shows in the same place 2 nights in a row. It's fun to see them rehearsing with Scott's dad, getting ready.
What i would suggest is listening to them from the beginning of their career from the beginning after they won The Sing Off. That way you can see the evolution and dynamics of the group. Btw, i love your appreciation and reactions.
I'm not sure, but it's possible the video camera man who paused briefly in frame is Ben Hausdorff. He was a videographer and video director for some of PTX tours / videos. He's now Kirstie's husband, and yes, she was pregnant with their daughter during this tour.

Ever since I first heard this song, I can’t help but thinking of it as a Peter, Paul, & Mary song. I grew up listening to that group, and this song could have been on any of their albums. It and “Thank You” are my favorite PTX originals from their Xmas albums.
What a beautiful song about the love of a mother! In the studio version is one of those song they sing with and instrument, the guitar, I really love this song and not a people talk about it! Thank you Nick for reacting to this!

As a mom this song always makes me cry. No shade to my mom, but this is the way I feel about my grandma who isn’t with us anymore.
Thanks Nick, for another great heartfelt reaction! I was lucky to first hear this song at one of their Christmas concerts. They invited their opening act (A Girl Named Tom) to sing wirh them. You should also check them out sometime...I believe they were the winners on one season of The Voice
Man, A Girl named Tom's harmonies are second only to PTX, in my opinion. Helplessly Hoping and Wichita Lineman are two of my favorites by them. I'm so glad you covered Evergreen, I get choked up every time I hear PTX singing it.
they have another song in this vein called 'light in the hallway' which is an original. i think scott and maybe avi wrote it. it is sort of a lulluby and a sweet and wonderful and soothing song, beautiful too. its another that should get more play but the quieter songs often don't; they're still great songs.

Scott also has two sisters. Lauren has a beautiful voice. Sings the National Anthym at least once each Texas Ranger's baseball season.
