A hugely enjoyable example of why Ron Goodwin was so highly thought of by film makers. This piece makes this
listener want to throw his hat in the air and cheer! The composer's range knew no restrictions in the telling of stories on film.but he excelled in excitement, that's for sure.

The film is pretty bad, but once again, the score brings the film to life thanks to Ron Goodwin. Another master tactician who could easily adapt his style of musical thought to any film genre. Ron deserved more work in the 1980's and 1990's. Great man, great film composer. Sadly missed like so many.
@Morgrim I think you've been watching too many Marvel movies. The Guns of Navarone, the first film, is a great film. Force 10 is just a farce. AirplaneII: The Sequel has better comedic timing and acting.
@Morgrim Another Millennial pretending to be a non-millennial. I'm old enough to remember having the displeasure of watching this film in the cinema's when Force 10 came out. Robert Shaw was the only reason I actually went. Plus Ron Goodwin's enjoyable score. The rest of the film is tedious. Force 10 was very much my own annus horribilis.
