Sutukoba Kankiling Festival

A cultural festival in the village of Sutukoba. Sutukoba is located in the URR (Upper River Region) of the West African country, The Gambia. The villagers are primarily from the Mandinka tribe. This festival is put on for them to express their culture and share their traditions with the next generations, as well as, to act as a homecoming for all the villagers who now live in the capital area to work. Such traditions include: wrestling, dancing, drumming, Kankurangs, post male circumcision ceremonies, a mock wedding ceremony, pottery making, farming, and socializing with loved ones and friends.
