- This product from 27won is really awesome, i like how loud the sound of the intake is. sounds like it has a blowoff valve installed. i love it, especially with my velossa tech snorkel intake. Funny enough, I have the same HVI+Duct and I too have a 27WON SRI in orange, replacing it. Figured I'm up in Michigan where average temps are 60s most the year or colder. Wanted the SRI figuring its louder than the PRL one. Sorta hoping its 'noticeably louder' and not just 'a little louder' as I feel the PRL one would def. be muffled fully-out, if you ever did exhaust swap. At least 27WON lets you upgrade to a future enclosure down the road. So you could always pop that on ( probably be a lot quieter ) but optionally, I bet you could take it on/off pretty easily for whenever you just wanna hear it haha
I also live in Michigan thinking about getting this intake...how is it working on your car unlike it any problems with the heat....
@@Kingreyes13 If the car is in motion ( like 25+MPH ) The temps read exactly the same regaurdless if it was 90F outside or 60F outside. The only time you see hotter temps, is when the car was idling at a redlight. My IAT1 temps would rise up quiet a bit, but the intercooler ( stock ) kept it cooled, so IAT2 temps were pretty un-effected. Talked to my tuner about it too and was told there's not gona be any performance differences in most cases. I dont really experience 10mph rush-hour traffic, havent experienced a traffic jam in countless years so..I cant really speak on that? But my datalogs on both setups were stupidly identical. the PRL looks more stealthy/sleak/made-to-be while the 27WON looks more 'out there'

@258JUAN Uhhhhhh I wouldnt describe it as *much* louder. I do feel its more noticed, if I have music off I can pretty easily hear the air sucking in, and the wastegate dump, with my windows up. On the highway i can faintly hear the wastegate dump when im going 70mph and give it some gas and let off. More road noise. Driving windows down though on the main road its definitely notidable, especially if your driving through an area with walls near. Unmistakable to hear it.
Ive been happy with it though. Still running the 27WON SRI and ended up listing my HVI+Plus duct for 300$. I saw 27won's blog about the upcoming enclosure for the SRI and honestly, I like the noise so much I'm not even considering it haha. Definitely lost a few MPG because even today im still enjoying driving for hearing the woosh and wastegate dump. I think its worth a shot..if you dont like it you can always probably find a buyer for it. Im on a CVT so I get to hear it less often as manual owners. I basically have to intentionally drive for hearing it, even if I use paddle shifters.
27w got so many turns and different sized hosing, prl was straight flow. Might lose some power or even heatsoak faster.
Doesn’t matter on a car with a intercooler

I honestly prefer the PRL…especially at idle. Too much valve noise in idle with 27WON. Everyone has their own preferences….
Any heatsoak issues?
It's probably gonna have some because it's exposed. Haven't had any issues though and I've added the air vent snorkel so it shouldn't be a problem, hopefully haha I'm in PHX AZ so idk haha

For how much are you selling the PRL? Also which one you prefer 27 won or PRL intake ?
$300 still brand new, PRL is for more performance cold air intake and less sound. I love the 27WON cuz its loud bit it will be just hot air, no case just open air induct. Less of a performance. It doesn't matter now since it's hot in PHX haha, I like the 27won intake.

Nice install. I have a ‘23 Si, was considering this intake. I live in Vegas, so we have a climate similar to PHX. The website advised that the heat could be a factor. Wonder if this intake along with the snorkel if heat soak issues could be minimized or avoided all together.

How much louder is this compared to the PRL HVI you had when accelerating hard? Do you hear turbo spool up too?
Thx much appreciated!! And yes it's much louder I love it and it sounds like it has a BOV. And yes I was gonna get the one from 27WON but seen that is had the LED and I had to get it. And you can choose what ever shape you want on the face of it. They have like 8 choices.
i live in phoenix too. im thinking of getting this air intake. i orginally wanted the prl because it seems like would get air from outside easier but i l really want something louder that brings out the turbo noise. how has this been with hotter weather
Does this come with resonator delete? Ir do you have to purchase from PRL?
