Their offense can be a bit 'questionable' to an extent.
It's their speediness that makes this team good enough to make up for the lack of power in that lineup. A power bat at the trade deadline could definitely give Washington a chance to secure a wildcard spot in the 2nd half of the season.
With Dylan Crews still in AA, and James Wood and Darren Baker possibly close to making their MLB debuts on offense soon, who could they likely go after at the deadline to really add some "thunder" into that lineup? Washington's teetering around the near-.500 mark, but if they plan to secure one of the top wildcard spots, they need to make a few decently good moves there to bolster their chances of securing a playoff spot. Where should they start first?

Agreed the teams above them in the NL East are suffering injuries on big names. They just have to stay healthy and keep on this grind.

First thing they need is to DFA Corbin. That'll give them the spot to get the best rotation in baseball.

@@martinythegreat808 James Wood seems like a good idea.
In Triple-A this year, James is hitting such otherworldly numbers that Nats fans wouldn't expect. Hitting at .365, on-base at .465, slugging at .596, and an OPS of 1.061, albeit with only 9 HRs and 31 RBI. In total from the minor leagues, 50 HRs, 206 RBI, and a slash line of .301/.401/.939.
If GM Mike Rizzo is not comfortable in wanting to give up Wood or Crews up for a power bat at the trade deadline, you wonder if he's willing to part ways with somebody else like Brady House, Robert Hassell III or Yohandy Morales as part of a trade offer for a power bat to inject some life into their offense.
With the Nats only 3 games below .500, and the Braves already looking far and away a surefire team that's likely gonna secure one of the three wildcard spots at 37-30, there's still plenty of time for Washington to make up plenty of ground there with certain teams like the Padres, Pirates and Giants somewhat struggling. If they hit it right at the trade deadline, then a possible run for a playoff spot might be in the cards for them.

    THESE NATS ARE FOR REAL.
I wouldn't be mocking them for flaring Tempers. That is sometimes going to happen in a Season, but what matters is how you RESPOND, and the Nationals RESPONDED WELL TONIGHT.
6-2 Against the Braves, and Making the Marlins look like a Joke? I'd say you're on the right track, Washington!

Because of schedule it's tough for every team to win in a division. But you've got two top tier teams and two scrappy teams. So it's not that unheard of.
