Divine "Shoot Your Shot"
After Divine (real name Harris Glenn Milstead) became known in a few films in the 60s and 70s, first to the underground and later to the mainstream, he decided to pursue a music career in the 1980s. For this he fired his manager Robert Hussong and replaced him with his English friend Bernard Jay. It was Bernard Jay who wanted to position Divine as a disco performer.
The real breakthrough came when Divine teamed up with Bobby Orlando. He wrote him some of the great Hi-NRG singles, including "Shoot Your Shot". But he was only able to score points with this music in Europe. "Shoot Your Shot" didn't even chart in the US and remained a pure disco phenomenon there. Things got tight for Divine shortly after “Shoot Your Shot”. He was completely over-indebted, not least because of his lifestyle. At the same time, the record company managed to force Bobby Orlando out of Divine's contract and place Divine with producer trio Stock Aitken Waterman. This should make Divine's records more profitable.
Unfortunately, Divine and Stock Aitken Waterman only had four years left, because Divine died in 1988. Unfortunately, the evening before his day of filming in "A Terribly Nice Family" as Al Bundy's Uncle Otto. "Shoot Your Shot" was Divine's biggest hit in Germany. The hit went to number 15 and stayed in the charts for six months.

Hi Jason this is Ronald also known as FiO and The Shrink. Wow what a great remix. I met Divine in 1983 and even remixed this song in 2002 too. Still great nostalgic memories of him ❤
