Coz this game is not much valued in India unlike cricket... Facilities are less there is no proper selection done across many states.. infact I was an handball player (even I can play now ) but my handball secretary is not improving the game rather he makes money to his pocket... There are many games in India which we couldn't shine In International meets untill there will b a situation where the talents are identified and encouraged in a right way with international standard training...
I hope one day India will play to world cup to face the superpowers of Europe :). Actually, India has so many young people that could do sport, but to make performance, rather focus on a very small amount of good players. Handball it's preferably, a sport for tall, strong men, with powerful shooting arms and also with long legs. It's important to jump high and to shoot very powerful and accurately while doing this. After that team playing, players should pass to each other blindly.
You can see by distance why this handball is limited, first the players are not tall, second they are not able to jump high and third their shots are not strong. It seems pretty similar with a game between the best teams in handball for women.
you dont need tall players in handball, this game requires agility and coordination since there is a goal post unlike basketball where being tall is an advantage (or was since steph curry revolutionized the game by solely depending on mid range shoots)
For all those who have commented on the level of skills displayed by the players or think this is time pass.....please observe closely...these are special players....some having artificial limbs.....or some having under developed ones....things are not always what they seems n probably we should b less judgemental......hat's off to the players for the skills they have attained despite a handicapped body
Nah dude, they aint disabled, neither are they bad. They just aren’t pro’s. We’re used to only watch high level pro’s but if you and me played and got filmed, (given that we both play handball) we’d look pretty similar to these guys.
