The Timberland 6 inch boot has become a staple in New York City fashion - so much so, that Timberland and NYC have become almost synonymous. It's a timeless classic both style and performance wise. In the biggest city in the world Timbs have risen to the top, and so we teamed up with Finishline to hit the streets. We wanted to get New Yorkers' opinions and reactions to these boots. Timberland reduced their lifetime warranty to a "1 year warranty" because many people were sending back the 6" waterproof boots because they have a defect that causes rain/snow to leak in the toebox area. Due to that fact ; in my humble opinion it's a bad investment to spend $190 on boots when Timberland warranty will only cover the "waterproof" boots for 1 winter. Even in NYC it's less common to see Timbs; aside from the classic wheats. Ironically ; many clubs,bars,lounges,venues, etc. have a strict "No Timberland Boots" dress code policy at the door in New York City.

Grabbed my first pair of Timbs last year, but definitely didn't realize the cultural significance in a place like NYC. It's cool to hear those stories, since it's a very different mindset here in the midwest.

As someone who was born and raised in NYC but now lives in SE Louisiana (retired military), this is a true statement. However, I would feel awful ruining a pair of Timberlands for an SHTF event. I'll use my steel toed black leather boots or my desert combat boots for that. Even though I consider myself a prepper, I still respect Timberlands for what they are from a NY fashion standpoint.

I think this style Tim looks good, but on smaller feet tho. I've owned a couple pair, and they in my opinion never looked right on my feet.
I think timbs are definitely east coast, no hate about that. Can't really wear timbs here in socal, where weather is 85° during the fall, 75° during the winter
