There is a small discrepancy in the video (maybe because at a point it was cut). It is true that less than a thousand Bactrian Camels left in the wild, but let it not mean to you that the rest are in zoos. There is over 2 million of them in domesticated herds across Central Asia, Tarim Basin, and Mongolia. These guys were the Cargo Ships of the Silk Road back in the day. Extraordinary animals.
Unfortunately, turns out the Domestic Bactrian Camel and the Wild Bactrian are actually two separate species, known as Camelus bactrianus and Camelus ferus respectively. Thus the domestic numbers aren't used in head counts for the wild ones which, while doing a bit better than at the time of this documentary, are still critically endangered.
It's true but many bacterian animals are gone like the horse said to be very very fast but would sweat blood due to skin condition, lots of imperial members would be rewarded this horse or known as a kings horse. It's amazes me how something from my country still alive today...
Thank you for pointing that out, @Fwufikins. Unfortunately, even some zoos don’t make the very important distinction between wild and domesticated Bactrians.
At ALL COSTS? Really? Even the cost of all human life? The cost of your own, Perhaps? See How over the top it seems when people get on here saying Things like at all costs we must do this or that? That is actually what brought me here. I was on the Doom Wiki and read that their death sound is a Bactrian camel's mating call so I wanted to hear one, haha. So thank you for the timestamp.
The Lion Guard did such hard work getting to the Tree of Life while meeting lots of animals. Take the Bactrian Camel for example. Bactrian Camels have two humps, instead of one.
Hahaha you’re NOT ALONE. I DIED LAUGHING.. I Callsd a friend and told her I can’t have to see this by myself And made her watch it too. I died laughing. Was really grossed out too haha but no. Not alone. How could they not laugh? I have to be serious all the time, usually I have a dry sense of humor but when I say I lost it? Hahaha. I couldn’t help myself. It was disgusting and unexpected and hilarious. Like what do they think? Hey females , is this working for ya ? Oh no? How bout THIS? Hahaha I can’t
Forget the polar bears. Commerce between civilizations were literally carried on the backs of these poor guys. Imagine how bad climate change is treating them.

Good photography and screenplay. A knowledgable piece of documentary about one of the harshest desert and its native anumals i.e the Bactrian Camel.
Deserts are usually harsh. This is not the harshest one. Sahara desert might be.
They're beautiful. Pray for them.
why are there 2 fully fledged out ads before what appears to be a man rapping over camels in the wind?
Happy 90th Birthday, David Attenborough!

That undeniable llama face.
Camels and llamas are actually closely related. The llama’s nose and lips resemble the camel’s nose and lips.
CAMELS are so cool .

although the Imps do have death sounds coming from Bactrian Camels, but they're far more throaty sounding
It's like trumpet's sound in Lord of The Ring.

It's a former human's death scream though xD
I love all camels 😘😘😘😍😍😍.
The climate is so dry and cold that the camels literally have to eat snow. Nature has a way i guess

Bactrian camels originate from Northern Afghanistan from the region of Bactria, hence its name.
