And this became a "minor" surgery when the writers had a enough of Maura's storyline and needed to get back to Jane and her new best friend,Korsak. LOL

i know this a sad way but i think stripping the onion layer when faced with quite overwhelming news i think maura is just covering her bases should something go wrong with surgery i think sasha is quite brilliantly acting its a shame she doesent get much recognition for how much she puts into the character to bring it to life so beautifully

What is up with people NOT hugging Maura? Grrr. Jane and Kent, for god's sake... "I'll continue with my analysis" "I have to look at something for Nina." NO. No.

I have to say, the way Chiari was covered was... Insulting. I'm so sad about that. I am deeply hurt by how easy her story is, with Chiari. I've been beaten to the ground by Chiari since my dx in 2005 & when I couldn't move anymore, I had the 6hr. brain & spine surgery for Chiari. There was no band-aid, I was in bed for months (not to mention a stint in ICU before I could be transferred to a regular bed before I could stop being monitored & go home!) I could not go to a bar (or anywhere!!!) 48hts. after surgery, nor Meier for at least 8 wks. The portrayal is inaccurate & anyone WITH Chiari wishes to God that our stories were as easy as this! It's almost a disservice to us, by portraying Chiari this way. It's debilitating. Before surgery, you're beaten down by symptoms. And for many, like me, I'm no better after (except I have flow of CSF now) the brutal surgery. In fact, I'm worse. Yet one watching this, might look at my story (and so many others) and ask what the big deal is! There is no cure, it can be like living with cancer w/o the promise of death. Most of us have to travel long distances, many states away, go into deep debt just to see a true Chiari Specialist....Lord knows insurance doesn't care to get you in the right hands. I'm just so disappointed that this was covered with such ease compared to what reality is. To watch that, while I cry almost daily just on the mere wish I could to be able to get to a true specialist who could see me through this horrible & obviously underestimated condition, for which I pray many nights that God have mercy on me & I don't wake up in the morning. I wish they had just simply NOT used Chiari in their storyline, as it was so....insulting & hurtful. 😞

I don't think you can work money problems and difficulties finding a specialist with Maura, she's loaded and she has friends in the medical field.
