- Yesterday I came upon an abandoned homeless persons camp. I first had to check the tent to make sure there wasn't a dead person in it, and then found something really creepy. I found a buried vault on the outskirts of the camp. I just had to know, What's In The Boxxxxx???!!!

Thanks for rescuing the toads! I always feel that any living thing is entitled to a bit o' help to keep on living....unless it makes a lotta trouble for other living things by doing so. Toads seem to be one of those kinda cute critters that ask for no trouble & give none.

That’s a forest refrigerator my friend! This person was on the way to having a nice little camp. If I end up homeless some day I would go the camping in the woods route, rather than camping on the sidewalk route; less risk of your tent neighbor crawling in lookin for a weird experience.
It's a place for his food. Away from everything and in the ground to keep a good temp.

That's always a little creepy when you stumble into someone else's world-alone, and to find a shovel without rust=(red flag)!!! I have to admit that I enjoyed the video.

I know this video is old, but it made me so happy that he rescued the toads! Such sweet little animals.
Beau: I have been homeless. Many times a person will leave their belongings there in hopes it won't be disturbed or stolen when they return. The biggest problem with being homeless, is "where to be homeless", so, many times they have more than one location. You are right about the towel or anything in a tree. I have found small stashes in old tree trunks with needful items and I simply left them alone. One time I put a five dollar bill in it. Some homeless are such by choice, but many are not. It is a very low time in one's life so I want to say, please respect these items and put them back exactly as you found them. It may very well be all they have to get through another day, week, or winter.
I really enjoy your videos. I had the opportunity to hunt with Tom Dickie out of Atlanta. Have you heard of him? One evening he took us to his basement where there were over four hundred live shells waiting to be drilled and emptied of powder. I found this troubling because he lived in a residential area. This was 35 years ago. Your collection is the only one that comes close to his. I believe he had well over 2000 shells. Thanks for your videos.

I actually did find a dead homeless guy exactly 1 year ago. Somebody had reported him missing, and since we knew where he was camped, another outreach worker and myself went to check up on him. He'd been dead about a week or 2.

After Nam, I was homeless for 4 years . My relatives and family disowned me. I lived down by the Chattahoochee River near Roswell Ga in the woods. No one ever bothered me not even once in the 4 years I was there. Worked quietly at a local car wash and saved a good amount of money then got a Condo apt on Roswell Rd right near the old Rusty Nail. That was the most peace I have ever had in my entire life. I never talk of these experiences to people, this is basically stuff they wouldn't want to listen to because they really don't care about anyone else but themselves. No one should judge the homeless. Show them love and help them, but do not molest them who knows why they are in their lives as they are ... Let it be . Blessed are the meek .

There's a forest behind target, and it's pretty large. If you walk in it you're bound to get the sketchiest feeling ever because it's called 'the hobo forest'. I think you can figure out why. There's little paths that lead to small groups of tents. And there's randoms piles of things like little girl and boy clothes, toys etc... Some hobos have it good, others have tiny tents. I've gone through it a couple of times both times I came in contact with hobos and toured some tent groups. I didn't go in their tents though because i felt they should have their privacy too. One of the dudes I came in contact with was a huge dude just walking around with no shirt; he didn't seem to care that I was there. Another seemed terrified of my friend and I. We were just walking through the paths laughing and talking, and when we looked up we saw a hobo coming towards us with his Head down. He looked up, froze, then sprinted in the other direction. It was so creepy.
A lot has happened in there. One hobo was raped and killed and another was stabbed multiple times before me managed to escape from the trees and ran onto the highway. Some people used to bring their jeeps in there and torment the homeless, the homeless would chase them with knives and would cut the fabric roofs it they had them.
Just recently though cops went in during the night and kicked all of them out and now it's pretty much all tore down.
Woods Walking is something I have enjoyed for years , You never know what you are going to find , there is always something , It's an Adventure , I keep my boots , warm coat , gloves , Hat and my favorite Walking stick that I've Had for many years , I have quite a list of Interesting things that I could talk about , any way thanks for vids !
I really liked the video because of all the stuff he found it felt like if it was a crime scene. Very cool
i used to be homeless and sleeping in a tent in the woods. If i was going to be gone for a few days or an extended period of time i had this little spot where I buried all of my belongings.. all 6 years of being there and never seen or bothered.

If you think something might be dead, especially if you smell death, never touch anything with your bare hands. Decomposition bacteria can bore right through your skin, and get into your bloodstream and cause potentially fatal sepsis. Always use latex gloves.or a stick. Besides which, if you come across a murder scene you are contaminating the scene by touching things.

Howdy Beau , if you've found a dead body before then you would never forget what that body smells like . In my time I've found (2) two bodies and I'd never forget what the dead smells like !!! It's a shame that between both bodies , one of them was a new born . When I found that baby I was about 13 or 14 years old . Anyway if you've got outdoor skills , that person knows not to hang up clothing so high . You're doing a good job . Just always watch your back. Thank you, Beau

This doesn't look like a homeless camp. This looks like a cutting crew camp. Simply put, I'd say someone was hanging out there watching weed plants and getting ready for harvest.

I wasn't so lucky. I cleaned up a camp and found a body, police came and found another one near by.
I think the box in the ground, the guy was making an ice box of sorts, burying it for extra insulation.
More easily deter wildlife seeking a meal too. Got to admit, ingenious of the squatter to do so.

Homeless people often pack up their valuable and seasonal stuff and buried it so they dont have to carry around heavy things all the time. Its likely he got picked up by cops or maybe found a better situation for awhile that was worth abandoning the tent then came back later to get what he had buried.
He should have checked the date of the dime/ the expectation date of food to get a rough estimate of when the guy was there

The video is from 2013 ... so if the dime was from 2013, you'd know someone was there at least that same year ... but you have a point if the dime is old it's no help.

Those toads may have gotten in through that little hole in the front center when they were very tiny and just fell in. I'm sure that when it rained, some moisture came in through that same hole and maybe even dew may have formed on the inside of the box in the mornings. I suspect that their food source may have also come in through the same way, but perhaps the sides were also open a bit.

I can’t believe you touch everything with bare hands and no tools. Be careful that you never get injured by a used needle in a sleeping bag or tent. I would be too freaked out to do any of this, too afraid to find a body or something else that I couldn’t handle.
