How to Scald Milk:
www.savoryexpe...
RECIPE RECIPE RECIPE Homemade Honey Buns
1/2 C Scalded Milk 105'
1/2 C Warm Water 105'
2 tsp Instant Yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
in a little bowl:
4 TBS Melted Butter room temp
1 Egg Yolk blend together & add to mixing bowl.
1/2 C Honey
**Adding the Dry Ingredients:
**3 1/4 - 3 1/2 C Bread Flour
***Start out with 3 C of the flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Cinnamon added to flour
Mix in bowl adding flour as needed till a nice dough ball forms
Then when you have a nice dough ball, kneed on speed 2 for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, put dough ball on counter and knead into a ball.
Olive oil in mixing bowl put dough ball inside bowl and cover with the olive oil. Cover with damp warm towel for 90 min to 2 hours.
Punch down
NOTE: YOU CAN DO THE ABOVE PART THE NIGHT BEFORE THEN, AT THIS POINT, YOU CAN JUST ROLL IT INTO A BALL & STICK IT IN THE FRIDGE AND FINISH THE REST IN THE MORNING.
Put dough back on counter and press out into a rectangle.
Divide in half
and divide in half again 2 times
so you have 8 dough pieces.
press out flat then roll dough
so it looks like a bread stick about 22 inches long.
shape into a honeybun shape (spiral shape like a cinnamon bun looks & pinch the end to the side so it doesn't unwind. Don't wrap them too tight or they will "mountain up" too high.
Place finished rolled buns on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.
Preheat oven to
Bake 400'
for 20 minutes
Icing:
In a mixing bowl
2 Cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 TBS honey
4 to 6 TBS milk
blend till it becomes very creamy.
add the milk and even more powdered sugar till you get the consistensy desired.
*Don't put the icing on till the honey buns are just warm or it will melt off.
You can brush the buns with a little butter to keep them soft.
*When the buns are cooled off but, still a little warm, use a spoon and drizzle the icing over the tops of the honey buns.
Alright, there we go. Honey Buns!
Thank you so much for this!
Do the buns have to rise any length of time afore putting them in the oven or is it just the one rise?
I stumbled across this video last week. I sent it to my mother in law. She called me this morning and said Jason stop by I have something for you.....she made them and oh my God! These are the best thing I've ever eaten. My father in law called them better than sex buns!
this is the beat comment EVER!!!! 🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wonderfu overall video!
They may just don’t like honey buns
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I just posted the RECIPE here for you :) Thanks, gonna try it in the morning!!
So sad...we, your watchers and subscribers, are here. We're praying for you and your family restoration of your bodies, minds and spirits. Lots of love..
It's amazing the strength this wonderful lady has!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜💜💜💜🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
These look scrumptious, Heather!
Bun Recipe:
Milk, scalded (1/2 cup)
Water, warm (1/2 cup)
Instant Yeast (2 teaspoons)
Bread Flour (3 cups to start, may need to add more until no longer sticky in small increments)
Sugar (1/2 teaspoon)
Butter (4 tablespoon)
Egg Yolk (1 yolk)
Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
Honey (1/2 cup)
Cinnamon (1/2 teaspoon)
Mix everything together and once combined and the dough isn’t sticky. Knead for about 7 minutes. Proof until doubled in size and then roll and shape to create each bun. Bake in a preheated 400 F oven for 20 minutes.
Once out of the oven, brush with extra melted butter.
(My note if you don’t have instant yeast, use regular yeast and proof in the warm water for about 5-10 minutes!)
Glaze Recipe:
Powdered Sugar (2 cups)
Vanilla (1 teaspoon)
Honey (1 tablespoon)
Milk (4-6 tablespoons)
Add everything to a bowl and beat until combined. Only start with 4 tablespoons of milk and then adjust with either more milk or powdered sugar until it’s the thickness you like. Then drizzle over slightly warm buns!
pinned! thanks Ruthie! 🥰
The Kneady Homesteader You’re welcome! I’m fixing to edit to add the glaze recipe. Lol.
Thank you Ruthie
Thank you darling!!👍♥️
Thank you Ruthie!
MMMMM Homemade Honey Buns. Thanks for sharing them with us Heather. God Bless Y'all.
Praying you and your family UP, sweet Heather!
Excellent job again Heather!! I have been hunting for all your video's. God bless you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Praying for you and your sweet children .....may you find the strength and courage you need to face the days ahead .
Just made these 🤩 my husband is in aww. They’re amazing thank you for the recipe. Our family is praying for yours, that peace and healing surrounds you and your babies.
I have been running your playlists non stop for 3 days and this video came up last night... oh my I had to make them today! These are so freaking good and so easy to make. I am praying for you and the kids and have joined your Inner Circle not so much for the private videos but to help on a monthly basis. I have a $6,000,000 son ( no joke) had it not been for the Army medical insurance and my communities help I don’t know what I would have done. Keep kicking butt on your therapy ❤️🙏🏻
Yes I believe it. The military is wonderful. Blessings for Heather in her great time of need. 💜💜💜💜🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜💜
This video was my very first introduction to you and your channel. I remember loving your sweet personality and being drawn in by how approachable you make these recipies. That was a little over a year and two months ago. I can't believe I have only been watching your channel for slightly over a year, it feels like it has been longer. I have gone on day binges of watching your videos while you accompany me in the kitchen. For the longest time, I thought you were trained in a culinary school with a specialty in baking. You just seemed so at home and knowledgeable in the kitchen. Needless to say, I was surprised when I went back on your channel to see you documented your own journey with making things from scratch at home. You are such an inspiration to myself and many and a great gal pal to "cook things up with" in the kitchen. I look forward to more days in the kitchen with you and will continue to keep you all in prayer 💜
P.s. I still need to make these honey buns!
P.p.s Heather, you are not "just" a mom
My family is praying for your family.🙏. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope your children are doing well too.
Sending much love and many prayers.
Praying for you and your family during this time of grief. Watching and listening to ads as well to assist further. God bless you Heather. 💗
I will have to make these. Thank you!
I cannot understand why there are any thumbs down!!! This was an excellent presentation!!!!
Some people put down anthing that they don't understand. Heather's phenomenal!

@@margiemelendy6857 You're very welcome, And today she's at 207K ... remarkable xoxox I love Heather and her family and out of their tragedy I now enjoy the best bread I've ever eaten and I make it myself. Beginner Bread ... with everything bagel seasoning. I hope you make something from her library, her recipes are delicious and she is so clear with her instructions that you can do anything Heather can do .... enjoy watching and a special shout out to dear Matt that would be proud of Heather and their kids ... #InspiredByKneady
@@Sueprises so glad she's gone over 200k. I love her bread video's. I used to bake bread all the time until Fibermylgia, bad back, hip replacement and other health issues kind of put a damper on it. I'm looking to get a Kitchen Aid pro 600. I have classic Kitchen Aid but I don't think it will be strong enough.
I helped my Mom who will be 94 this year can when I was younger. I've made jams and jellies for years but never knew about the butter trick. That's just one of the things I've learned from Heather.
Haven't found an update recently but hope she is now back home with her family. Thank the Lord that she has older son's to help her out. It's such a difficult time for all of then and I keep them in my prayers.
My husband of almost 46 years passed away 5 years ago this Memorial Day. Still miss him but life moves on.
I'm now engaged to a wonderful man that is overseas for work at the moment. He's to be back thisweek and the we're moving to a house he bought near Austin.
I'm looking forward to setting up a pantry again and starting to can, make jelly and ake bread again. Jace says he will help me.
Thank you for your lovely response.
Margie.
You have a gift of making recipes so beautiful.
i love you Sis!🥰💋
My heart breaks for you Heather right now and your tragedy you are experiencing 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Praying for you all. Watching a few videos every day hoping to keep a bit of your income coming in. And I’m learning a ton in the process. Thank you so much. My moms favorite treat is store bought honey buns. I can’t wait to make this. Thank you so much
My daughter loves honey buns. She will have to make these for us the next time she visits.
Keeping you and your family in my prayers. 🙏🙏🌸🌸❤️
Ohhh, my goodness! Mmmmmm! ..
If you were to compile your cooking videos & sell DVDs, I would buy a box set!! *:)*
😆👏🏻💋💋💋💋💋
Thanks Heather. Sitting here on Sunday morning with my Granddaughter and she spotted you making these honey buns. She says we need to make these. I see Honey buns in my near future.
God bless The Kneady Homesteader
I wonder how those would rise over night in the fridge. It'd be sweet treat to pull out in the morning and put into a hot oven. A nice breakfast treat with no microwave in the works.
I bet this would be a good dough for cinnamon rolls. Add nuts, raisins etc yum
Looks so good.
I curse the day I found this channel! In forcing myself to eat a salad for dinner as I'm licking the screen watching this period L o l
HAHAHAHA KIP!!!!!! Biggest compliment EVERRRRR! hahahaha You made my entire night. Enjoy that salad! :D
Missed a spot, Kip. LOL LOL :-)
These were amazing! Thank you for all the knowledge you share!!!
I love all off you videos, especially the baking ones !
I love your baking videos
awww thank you!🥰💋
Hi Heather! These look so good ... that icing cascading slowly down the side of the honey bun was the money shot for sure ... I love how you think ahead what questions you'll get asked so we have the answers before we have a question. You really are a joy to watch and listen to. I hope your hospital food was acceptable over last couple of days, but theres no place like home, and nothing tastes better than home cooking. Stay strong Heather, one step, one day at a time ... xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
I’m so glad my yearly doctor’s appointment (with weigh-in) was earlier today. No busting my chops for a full year now!!! Hahahahaha! (Maniacally laughing 😆)

These are beautiful, Heather! And if you’re pressed for time you could dip those beauties upside down into your icing🥰👍
Hello! Miss Heather , how are you feeling? Thank you for sharing with us. Oh.... these look and sound so yummy! Thanks for sharing with us. Happy Holidays to you and family .
I am playing continuously including the commercials and going back and clicking like and making a one word comment.
UA-cam doesnt count as ‘views’ if you just let it run nonstop, and watching full ads does nothing. But you do you. Telling everyone probably makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.
My granddaughter’s favorite!! I’ll have to make these with her!! You made it looks so easy and they turned out perfectly beautiful!! ❤️
I am in so much trouble. My grandchildren have seen this video and guess what - this is what they want to have for breakfast Saturday morning. I am so thankful that I found your channel.
Hahaha. Way to go, Grandma!!
Hello Heather-it’s me! Clasping my hands in prayer for you and your fam AFTER I watch this video and DROOL over your baking skills with cinnamon rolls❣️thinking of you...
I love watching your channel! You have inspired me to start canning again, I just finished my first batch of turkey broth. Thanks for all you do!
Those look so delicious!
The dough looks incredible.
Always made with so much love. Hoping you get your Christmas wish. I remember when your channel was much smaller and now your channel is exploding. So much fun watching you and your family grow. Blessings to you and your family this Christmas tide season.
I've been wanting to make honey buns for over 10 years and you made it easy , thank you !!!

Heather's Honey Buns
To a stand mixer add:
1/2 cup scalded whole milk *(let cool to approx 105 degrees, lukewarm)* "baby bottle warm" :)
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup warm water *(lukewarm)*
4 Tablespoon melted butter *(also cooled to lukewarm)*
1 egg yolk
1/3 cup honey
Blend all these ingredients and add:
3 to 3 1/2 cup bread flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
* (start with 3 cups flour and add additional flour if needed til dough pulls cleanly from the bowl)
Let mix in bowl until dough pulls away from the sides and bottom of the bowl. The dough will be sticky. Let dough mix(knead) in bowl for 5 minutes. Form dough into a smooth ball and place in a well greased bowl, cover and let proof in warm, draft free place for 1 to 2 hours, until doubled. (I place mine in oven with the oven light on)
When doubled, punch down dough, put on work surface and press into a rectangle. Divide rectangle into 8 equal pieces. With hands, roll each piece into a 22 inch "snake". Roll snake into a spiral bun, but don't make it too tight! Place rolls onto a baking sheet and bake at 400F for 20 minutes. Let cool until barely warm and frost!
Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tea vanilla
1 Table honey
4-6 Tablespoons milk. The glaze works best if it is on the thick side.
Frost and Enjoy!!
Or if like Heather and on a low/no sugar diet, Frost and give away!!!!
Blessings and Love to All! Happy Holidays!
thank you so much, Godiva!!!!!!
Thank you😉
Hi, Heather's honey buns made me giggle. I'm sorry. Thank you for taking the time to write it out for us.
Thank you
Thank you Godiva for typing out the recipe!!!! I greatly appreciate your effort!! Bless you!!!
I use to love honey buns from the store but stopped buying them because I can taste the artificial flavors in them. I like my glaze on the lighter side but Heather omgh you knocked these out of the ball park!! I'm diabetic and know I shouldn't eat these but lol I'm going to make these and just have a small pinch and give the rest to my kids. They came out beautiful!! What a lovely birthday treat for your son.
I may not ever make this recipe, but I love it. I don’t even eat store bought honey buns that often, but I still love this recipe and I’m thankful you posted it
My first day as a college student, a few years ago, my best friend and I stopped by a convenient store to get breakfast. She got a chicken biscuit and milk - typical for her. I got a honey bun, and she REFUSED to let me pay for it.
The trip to our college that day had a long conversation that I needed, and for some reason, I distinctly remember eating that honey bun on our way to school. When I passed my first college exam with an A, I got a honey bun from one of the vending machines as a reward.
My best friend was killed in an accident last year, in February, so every once in a while now, I eat a honey bun, usually on really, really bad days, and sometimes on good ones. It reminds me of her, and makes me feel better Thank you for this video, Heather. ❤️
Shelbs.......you have me in tears over here! God bless you and I am so so very sorry for your loss. Ugh. I am sending all of my love to you! 🥺❤️
The Kneady Homesteader thank you! I didn’t mean to bring on the tears. I know you understand the feeling of certain foods/recipes reminding us of loved ones. You’re an amazing baker, and those honey buns shine with all the love that went into them!
Shelbs, i'm so sorry for your loss of your best friend.
In tears too!! 💜💜. I'm so sorry!

Omg , I could just sit with a cup of coffee everyday and watch you bake. I’m making a lot of Yur recipes. My sons love Yur pastries. This channel is sinful if Yur on a diet. Who cares it’s the Holidays. 😊👍
Looks so good. Going to make these for my honey bun fiend. My grandfather.

Another great looking recipe. You know Covid is going around and we are locked in most of the time being safe. I'm gonna look like a bear when they release the quarantine rules. Thank you for all your recipes. God bless.
Those look delicious, my kids love these, you can once you get them out of the oven, turn them upside down, and press down that way. I hope that works for you. Great video Heather.
Good tip! 💗
Oh my lord I’m going to get really big lol I love all this yummy goodness you make Heather 😉👏🏻😋❤️
Ever since my husband saw me watching this video he has been wanting to know when I'm going to make them 😅 also, just the other day he was talking about how neat it would be for me to incorporate apple pie filling into cinnamon rolls and then what do I see you recommend in the i-cards? Apple cinnamon rolls! Lol my husband will love it!
😆 those apple cinnamon rolls are killer!!!!!
What a great recipe & I like your style in the kitchen. Thank you for this. I plan to try these soon!
Here's a tip I've used in the past - because I don't have an oven with a proof option (I don't even have an oven light in my apartment stove! LOL). I use a heating pad I bought JUST for this that I place under a kitchen towel to sit my bowl on. I cover it with plastic wrap or a damp cloth. I put the heating pad on low-to-medium. This has worked well for me so far, but I have not used it for sweet dough, so... Just something to try that might work.
Love that!!!!! Thank youuuuu!😁👏🏻❤️
FIRST now I get to watch it! I am a fan of da' honey bunz.
😆 i love you woman!!!!!
That dough was incredible and was clearly alive when you were slicing it into the pieces and when rolling it out! I am pretty sure God eats these; they are beautiful.
Thank you. I hope your recovery is coming along. God bless you and watch over you.
Wow, you made me hungry for them. They look delicious.
Looks delicious! Sugar rush! 😀
Looks great, bet it smells great also.
They look yummy. I'll have to make these.
Can't wait to try these,
Wow! I'm not eating sugar either, but I might slice one of the rolled corners off. LOL. I will make them for other family and friends though.
I’m making these tonight! They look amazing.
By now, all of my family and I pretty much can’t even stomach store bread of any kind. There’s just no comparison to homemade bread. I’ve had a Pro Line 7 KitchenAid for a few years and I absolutely LOVE it but sometimes, if I’m not making a big batch of dough, I just like to get my hands in and knead my bread by hand.
The buns look awesome
Wow Heather you brought me back to my childhood. I will be making this weekend :)
yay! oh Lauraly, let me know how they turn out for you and how you like them!!!!!
great video!
