My prolactinoma went undiagnosed until I was 25. The doctors told me it likely started growing when I was 13. My pituitary was non-functioning for more than 10 years. I lost vision, body hair, I had throbbing pain going down the side of my head, i was jaundice, and my voice never dropped during puberty. Further, I lost all interest sexually in anyone at 15. After surgery they put me on testosterone, prednisone, and a thyroid med. I've been taking all of them for over 35 years. I've been blessed with a long career and a fairly normal life.

@@yoshtisune as the tumor had been undiagnosed for more than 10 years, it had reeked havoc on my entire person. It permanently damaged my vision. I think nowadays, if you're tumor is discovered fairly soon. Any damage done can be reversed.

I had gynecomastia, before the surgery they found elevated levels of prolactin and of course, prolactinoma. I always wondered why I was never super interested in girls, I've had girlfriends/sex partners before. but I was never really into them. at least now I know.
Next week, I'll be seeing an endocrinologist so that I can sort myself out and start a family😇, Oh and I'm a 33 year old Male by the way.
To all who suffers from what we suffer from, let's hope and pray, but most important of all, let's all take action!

I went totally blind in my left eye and partially un the right wye before my prolactaninoma was found. I had broken both feet, both wrists, and my humerus also. By the time it was found, it was a macronoma. Cabergoline successfully shrank it and my vision miraculously came back.
Take action before this happens to you. Several doctors missed mine. An opthomologist found it. 😢😊

During our internship, many women presenting with infertility who also suffered from hypothyroidism, had elevated levels of prolactin. Our teacher that time, told us that this could be due to the stimulatory effect of low serum T3, T4, that augmented sectetion of TSH(from pituitary) and TRH (from hypothalamus). TRH, in it's bid to increase TSH and the overall thyroid status, also increased prolactin release that inhibited, release of FSH and LH.

what happens when your prolactin levels have been raised by an antipsychotic . im going through hell from paliperdrone aka invega sustenna its hell i had 4 injections of the poison, i have lost everything. ive lost my concentration, i cant think, or feel. i have no emotions. i cant concentrate on anything eg read, write, watch tv/youtube paint or listen to music.
i have lost all my motivation, i cant do anything i cant even self care eg shower/brush my teeth, change my clothes. i just dont care about anything or anyone anymore, just no feelings.
i havent had my menstrual cycle.
i have no hunger or thirst. everything is dead, my body if not functioning anymore. my personality has gone, im dead inside.
on top of it all i cant sleep, i havent slept since november 2022 that was before i had the first injection. i had two in december first one was 100mg second 50mg 2022, one in january was 50mg and one in february was 50mg . my life has been hell. its been 9 months since my last injection and no improvement.
i wish i had hope i dont think i will recover from this its a nightmare, i just want to die
