Levi Hawken Interview at Mount Ruapehu 2016

Having a chat at the Mount Ruapehu IDF Race 2016. An explanation of where i have come from in skateboarding...street skating, bombing hills, transitioning to downhill skateboarding on a Longboard. For anyone who doesn't know anything about downhill this may give some basic info.

Thanks but there are many people doing amazing things in Downhill with sick styles, a lot of them skate everything too. Most people don't search any of it out so they only see the 'boring' stuff. Downhill is not popular so most of it is underground. Look up Byron essert, Liam Morgan, Francis Cooper Darquea Mauro, James Kelly.... just to name a few who are slaying hills and sending it. Chur!

When I was in my later teens i started taking acid a few times a week . Skating and drinking all through the night in Wellington city . I’d always end up bombing the hills from kelburn down into the city . Had some massive bails . It always hurt a lot more the next day , well the same day aha . Skinning knees and hips elbows hands . Never quite mastered the power slides . Hahah just hit strait until the wobble became too much then cya. Damn
