Just got mine in yesterday. Someone should post a side by side shot of the original and XL. The “on paper” specs don’t seem that much bigger but visually and “in the hand” the difference is significant. I have the original with the sage green micarta scales and the detent is very strong while the XL feels “normal”. So the XL fidgets way better if you’re a fidgeter. This one has that same unique metallic ring upon closing, which is fun. Totally agree this should have been the standard and the original should be viewed as a mini. This version is SOOOOO much better for my large hands. Think I’m going to do the RIT dye thing to the G10 scales…a rich, dark red. Nice review, thanks.

I agree with you on all points. For me, this one definitely has a better overall feel to it. I didn't care for the size of the original, which is why I moved it along pretty quickly. I would love to see an all titanium XL.
      Thanks for watching

I can’t decide if I want to order this or the two sun 223 right now!! I want a cormorant bad and the XL is so perfect.

@@BrandonGavin_EDC I haven't tried the Twosun yet, it looks nice. The XL Cormorant is actually a really well built knife. I've been using it exclusively the past few days and In thoroughly enjoying it. It's solid, feels great in hand, and the fidget factor is off the charts.

@@davidmathews2124 I haven’t, I’ve been waiting for the 223 to get back in stock for awhile. I don’t want to miss the chance to get it. I mean I can get one another time but I like being able to get it within a week.

Just received mine yesterday, but it was in the mailbox all day since I was out of town. Today was my nkd! Wow! this is my most fidgety knife yet, even after getting a Smock last week. I’ve had both out all evening, and each of them are a blast! My pivot screw wasn’t secured well, so put a drop of blue loctite on the threads and the action became even better (not loose)! Love everything about this one. It fits my hand well too. Yes, I would enjoy a slightly longer blade, but this was certainly a great value to jump on, and is within my sweet zone for filling out my hand! Enjoy!

If I had any if the knives that you haven't already reviewed I would send em to you. But I'm pretty sure everything I have, you also have lol.
Sucks no one will send you stuff. I'd trust you with my stuff.
    Thanks for the review

I appreciate that and thanks for watching. I try to just give honest reviews of what I like and don't like about the knife. I love the knife game but it can be expensive. I'll still keep doing reviews, but just slowing down a bit.

Anyone have a comment on the detent of this one? I was able to flick mine open and was just wondering if anyone with pocket time had any issues while carrying.

I've carried the Cormorant quite a bit and have had multiple different versions. The detent is pretty light, but that's how most button locks are. I haven't had any issues with the Cormorant in the pocket.

There’s a normal size one on pre order at blade hq right now… with blue and black fat carbon scales and a black coated elmax blade! I preordered mine!🥹
