You're the first to bring up the importance of Perfect Charge AFAIK. Good point with the fast shell velocity! I've seen many other content creators using different skills and equipment, so I guess there are many viable set ups. For instance, Iyouxin will run it with Bounty/Bond Rammer, Bounty IRM, and Experimental Turbo Tier 3. Skill will run it with Bond Optics, Rammer and an Aiming Unit. Kajzoo will run it with Experimental Turbo Tier 3, Bounty Rammer and will swap between Bounty Aiming Unit and Bounty IRM. Quickybaby won't even run a rammer at all, opting for Experimental Turbo Tier 1, Aiming Unit and...Low Noise Exhaust. He'll then run a "Snapshot" Directive as well. Personally, I go with Experimental Turbo 3, Bounty IRM and Bounty Rammer with a Snapshot directive (on most maps). I've noticed Iyouxin and Kajzoo will take the Bounty IRM unit when they're trying to fight in close quarters. Not something most players can do. Quickybaby loves to snipe with it to the max, hence the Low Noise Exhaust unit, and it does help, as the Grille 15 has atrocious camo. One of the worst.
Yeah the grille has lots and lots of viable setups for sure it really does depend on playstyle and how you maximise your output from every game. Personally I play it passive early to mid game but then from mid to late game aggressively and use my HP that I saved in the early to mid game to pick up some nice damage at close quarters. Worked really nicely for me. :))
actually QB was the first to mention Perfect Charge for the grille in a video a few months back if i am correct. And yeah you can do a lot of different builds.
@@tanks_with_wings you need to give it another try please, the turret being in the very back + that fully traversable turret make it so you can be much more aggressive than grille in city maps because you're a way smaller target and cun run faster too. Combine that with brutal 360pen (at close range), insane dpm and the godlike shell velocity and accuracy for longer ranges. Back in the day I didn't think much of that tank either, but then I bought it back and it's one of those tanks that I will play everyday (almost) because it works on every map, in every mm and it's always fun (unless you get artied but we all know that struggle) In case you're interested I'd recommend running this: (exp.) turbo, rammer, accuracy improvement system (I love this on here) / iRM
I remember when I started WoT... I fell in love with the STB-1 first, then I looked at the grille and the comically large gun barrel and thought to myself: "You are next in line baby". Finally years later when I finished the grind and got my hands on it I absolutely love the tank. Loved almost everything of it. To this day, it's one of my favourite tanks in the game, despite everything bad about it.
Ahaha Grille love story. Its now one of my favorites. Just so comfortable and i love to play it especially in onslaught where it is actually kind of meta on some maps :)
I use a very similar setup and I have to agree. Grille 15 is far more enjoyable than people think it is. (Grille 15 is not sneaky. It's camo is piss poor - exhaust on a secondary setup helps getting into certain positions)
nice vid! Maybe it was intentional, but I just wanna highlightt that crew efficiency bonuses (e.g. brothers in arms, vents and food) increase the effect of crew skills. For example, perfect charge with BIA + food results in about 13% higher shell velocity instead of 10%. Add bounty vents to that and its closer to 20%. Same goes skills like snap shot as well (mandatory skill on the grille IMO). Due to this scaling, I would consider replacing rammer with vents, or replace improved aiming with vents (what I would do)
You can't use vents on the grille as it is an "open top" tank. I would consider maybe using them if it wasn't, but you straight up can't. I would also never drop the rammer but would consider dropping the IAU
Exactly this. High alpha TD's especially ones that can't run vents should take it because there DPM is in its alpha by nature. Missing 1 shot kills the DPM massively
@@smirk976 yeah, but the grille has amazing accuracy and awful bloom. You reduce the bloom and suddenly start hitting many more shots, espeialy when playing actively. why not rotation mech. instead of improved aiming? you just went from 0,26 -0,24 with bonned IAM thats almost innoticeable, why not improve the worst thing on grille whitch is dispersion factors by 17,5% with bonned rotation mech.
Because of the way I play the tank. I'd much rather be 0.02 more accurate than have lower dispersion factors. It's down to being able to mitigate the dispersion whilst turning by predicting shots. I'd rather be sure to hit my 7 shots I take rather than maybe hit that 1 snap shot a game
@ idk man... 0.26 is good enought. you rarely shooting while fully preaimed and stacionary, you always need to do the micro ejustments before the shot and then you will notice more the effect from rotation mech. have you tried both? or only improved aiming set up?
The tank kind of sits in that awkward zone where it could do with some love but doesn't particularly need it. A small buff would do no harm imo especially if it's on its camo rating...

I saw a guy with crazy good results playing skorp with gld. I asked him why that and not rotation and aiming. He said rotation causes too much bloom. So I tried gld on my su130pm, no improved aiming, and it now hits every shot at any distance. 😯 It has become an absolute joy to play. Most surprising as everyone saying gld is now useless.
@@tanks_with_wings It is good for tier 8 ... for single shot td and no armor ... 1000 is the bare minimum just to be relative in tier X ... 750 alpha per shot for this tank will be fine only in the form of autoloader if say it has 3 shells and 360 rotate turret after all K-91 get turret rotation buff ...

That's my setup for bushy and open maps in where dpm doesn't matter that much but actually hitting, penning and doing dmg with grille.
@@kutejikashi1959 Valid choice :)
Bond IRM wouid be a fantastic pick as well imo, over the IAU, since its pretty much like vert stabs which kinda mitigates the horrendous gunhandling.

the grille doesnt have good camo also using iau on the grille is just the ultimate cope
FV005 and Grille should use it. In general it is cope eq., but missing a single shot hurts the dpm much more, than in other TDs with more dpm

IMO rammer is overrated because reload is high and you won't get a lot of chances to fire at will. It does't have cammo, but optics are mandatory.
