Thank you! This is the best video on discovery calls I've seen. Love that it's as much expectation management on both ends as it is discovering their needs and if it's good match. Love the validating phrases! Also love that you don't "assume the sale" or make other ousby assumptions. Your process respects where the client is at, as it should be. No hard sell necessary - because any good salesperson worth their salt ows those get cancelled or worse: inspire buyer's remorse or self doubt in the client. Ugh! They might feel slimed. Plus, we can keep it classy - positive results of our work make it stand out as high value, so we don't need to be smarmy or resort to manipulative tactics. Phew!
I really enjoyed the podcast episode where you mentioned freelance sites (fiverr, upwork, etc.) Could you go over that again? I think they might be a great portfolio building resource for those who just have specs. Am I wrong?
From what I have read, if a company has any kind of issue with you asking some industry standard questions, that is a RED FLAG! If they are serious about their business, they expect you to be serious about yours. Again, I am basing that opinion solely off of library books and her podcast. But it makes sense, right?
Thank you!

This is great, I remember reading your blog on this, and I noticed there was even more helpful information. Thank you for sharing your tips 🙏🏻
Hey Trixie! Thanks for stopping by (and for reading the blog, of course!).

This is just what I need. This Q1 I focus on getting clients for my copywriting business. And discovery call kind of scary for me 🤣
Remember: with discovery calls, you're interviewing THEM as much as they're interviewing you. Makes the power-dynamic more equal.
