I went through video at least three times before I tried to post it. I tried to upload it to UA-cam and I kept getting an error saying that something was wrong. So it said to optimize the videos so I click the button and it scanned through all the videos and optimized them. Not sure what that even means. Afterwards, I then uploaded the video and it went through, but some of the videos are sideways upside down, and stretched! Not sure what happened. Sorry!

Hi, from the UK to our down under cousins ❤ how did you enjoy the visit from the first ever King of England to your beautiful country? I would love to visit but the flight time is crazy ❤
I'm a septic truck operator, I can tell you if it's been long enough for that root to grow over the lid, you're likely overdue for a pump, might wanna check on it 😉
Yeah, when we bought the house, I had it pumped out. But I didn’t realize there’s two lids so the driver only pumped out the left side, which was just the liquids and not the right side with all the solids. Got me.
This is going to be an awesome project Jay, and you're definitely going to need the help from Ray, looking really forward to watching this series of the new deck/four seasons outdoor project build. Cheers for the real Fella...
Jay, looks like you've been inspired by the monster house the Perkins Crew is working on. Good luck on your project and looking forward to seeing more videos of your progress
Yeeesss builder buddies are back. Nice to see ray back ,I missed him. Nice to see you guys helping each other out . Good luck with this project jay .😀💪👍👍
I fully understand your comments about people helping that arent used to working with construction trades. I have the same with my wife and it can be frustrating but its not their fault. I think as construction people we expect others to know also!!! Make sure those lines are level otherwise your measurements will be way off. I have one of those line level attachments but they arent 100% correct as the plastic hangers flex a bit!!! Great video and will be interested to see the rest of the build 😁.

If that's not a great start - what is then? 😀 I'm sure this will torpedo your channel over the 100k! You earn it man. All the best for you and your family!
Hey Jay, I'd recommend looking into heating and cooling the 4 season room with a mini-split heat pump. It'll take care of both heating and cooling fairly inexpensively, and you can even get DIY units that don't require having an HVAC tech come around to charge the unit after install.
Ok. This is amazing. This is so organic, this is exactly the way the conversations would go with my close friends when we decide to build stuff. Love from Sweden!
Wow, this is going to be an amazing addition to your home and I'm excited to see this build. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. Great to see Ray. Wonderful friends and family you have Jason. ❤
Nice going taking down tree yourself (+ w/ bud). Such an EASY drill, tend to deem anyone who is reasonably fit and athletic as a wimp if they outsource! But now, do yourself a huge favor and dig-out that stump (rent or borrow excavator) and then pour cement base and build a proper room which will up big the value of the entire property! Promise this is the muuuuchhh better decision over what will be an inexpesnive/quickie-looking shed on a deck. (Ask Stephanie - *she* will agree, am sure - that is how much better a real room decsion is!!!)
Damn. Jason is becoming a real builder to by totally honest I used to watch these videos to feel better about myself but Jason is figuring this game out. Much respect brother. Heading in the right direction. You’ll be building your own house in no time lol
You need the DeWalt (DW089K) multi-line laser. Shoots a plumb line, a square plumb line and a level line. Would have been perfect for that layout. I'm sure there's better lasers out there, but I have this one, and it's very handy and only 300 bucks.
You should definitely rent a stump grinder for that stump. Speaking from experience, stumps are MUCH harder to get rid of then throwing killer down. Ending up spending more trying to remove it other ways then if I just rented the damn grinder 😂

This is an exciting project Jay! The garage door idea is really cool and would be amazing if you had one of those nice all glass garage doors and you could put a couple roller blinds behind it on the inside. I knew Ray was the poor sob you roped into helping you as soon as you said I got someone to help me today haha. Young Stephanie is also absolutely glowing!
Jason-I heard Arlo has some extra time on his hands…😂. Also, I once saw on a UA-cam video where they built a shed for free for lawnmowers and used steel and everything, and it was over a large slope. I think they built a large template out of free scrap material😂 Also, don’t you have a 16 yo son?
starting when I was a TWEEN, helped my father w/ tree removals - would shimmy up to tie rope in good place then w/ siblings, pull the tree from 20-30 yards away while pops used chain saw. (pretty darn easy - we helped friends w/ their trees too .. and every time that other family got every family member involved - despite probably not needed.. just feels good when team effort!) so agree - R&S, get your teens involved! great learning opportunity!
On stump removal - the rot products take forever. An alternative: 1) take the stump down as close to the ground as possible, 2) make a loose fire ring out of 8-10 8” block just laid out on the ground 3) dril 4-5 6” deep, 1/2-1” holes into the stump, 4) about an hour before you’re ready to execute, soak the main portion of the stump with diesel (fill the holes 2-3 times and let the diesel soak in. 5) repeat the soaking process 5 minutes before ready to start 6) pile a bag of charcoal briquettes on/close to the stump and make sure you have 8-10” clearance to the blocks (put a few pieces of cardboard down under the briquettes to help things light - keep all the briquettes piled on the stump as best you can). 7). Light it up. 8) stand by with a hose for at least a half hour to make sure everything will stay contained in the ring. Go do other shit in the yard, but check on the fire ring every 15-20 minutes for at least the first 90 minutes. After that, let the thing burn down. I’ve done half a dozen large (30-40” diameter stumps) like this. In 24-36 hours depending on type of wood and water content, the stumps will consume themselves to a point a few inches below ground. The charcoal builds up enough heat initially to dry the stumps and burn to coals themselves, and it continues until the fuel is gone.
Agree - that stump has GOT to GO! Plus once gone, suspect they'll go bigger for the new "media hang room" and put in a real cement base, and build from there (ie: not a fan of the shed on stilts and deck plan. Like Ray says, they built Ray's shop - they CAN do this. (and SHOULD - right Steph?)
I had the video edited and then it would not save to my computer from Luma fusion. So I had to click a button that said optimize videos and it went through all the video clips and did something to them. After that, I then uploaded it from Luma fusion to my computer and put it on UA-cam. I didn’t bother to look at it again because I’d already gone over it many times. But doing something with the optimization screwed up some of the videos and turn them upside down. Lol, hope you enjoyed it! Lol
@@Building_Jays_Way It's fine. I get it, and so does everyone else that's watching. We know that video editing isn't your "real job". Thanks for the videos and do what you do. You're one of the people that make Perkins Bros. a great channel to watch.
Yeah, not sure what happened there. The last time I looked at the video before I posted it everything was correct. I had to optimize the videos because I kept getting an error in Luma fusion. So after I optimized the photos for some reason, some of them went upside down? Lol sorry about that.
I'm with you brother. I'm also building a deck. Got my footings, piers and had to replace rotted band boards on the house. Ready for the ledger and beams next. I'm in NY so digging was left to a Home Depot tow auger I rented. I had to go down 36". With 12 holes, you might need to do the same. Good luck!
If you have to do much more removing of plants I'd recommend leaving tall stumps rather than cutting them off super low to the ground. That way you have something to pull on or attach machinery to for leverage if/when you go to dig up the roots and remove them.

I think your plan is going to be a lot of fun, and will be amazing to watch! I am really looking forward to watching you put this all together in your own way! To add to what you were talking about and needing a second hand. You are amazingly blessed to have a wife who is willing to help out, and give a helping hand. Weather you are a husband or wife helping your significant other help even if you do not know the process is still an amazing thing, and I give your wife so much respect for that. Watching you both work is really inspiring. Also glad to see you are all safe from the hurricane!
I agree- husband and wife working together is a great thing. My husband and I added ten feet to our flat roof house and then added a second story. We jack hammered all the concrete in the basement so we could put ceiling fans in and have a finished room. It took 30 years (both working full time and raising 4 kids). We just moved to downsize and unfortunately bought a house with extensive hidden termite damage. Here we go again. The difference this time is we are in our 60's now. I am retired but my husband still works a ten hour day 4 days a week- he is a car mechanic. We had to take a rotting sun room down so we made a 20x30 addition. I can say it wasn't fun putting up those roof trusses by ourselves. I adore Stephanie- not only is she beautiful and smart but like me she is not afraid to get her hands dirty. This project is going to be amazing!

The varying upside down and sideways segments are very on brand for Jay. Infectious fun.
I TOTALLY understand Jay’s frustration with not having the tools/ materials or the help. We all need a ‘Ray’ in our life.

It was still great, thanks for jumping through the hoops though! Great work ethic!
Those are going to be huge posts on the far corner. 😮
Those are very nice words and awesome to hear. Sometimes you have to hear a good comment to keep your spirits up!
@@Building_Jays_Way Channel is called Building Jays Way. :) Do your own thing, and in your own manor. Your humor, and honesty is what makes everything great! Having Jamie and Eric to help guide you also is amazing. I cannot say enough how jealous I am not to be in your area to have you all build my own home. At least I know it would be build with humor and love. Also, looking forward to seeing an update on how Ray's house is looking. Do miss the "That's one way to do it." that about killed me in the beginning!
Look at the big brain in Jay. Undulation is a word and it is (sort of) properly used here.
Hey Jay
Awesom to see you doing another projekt, and yeah it can bee trubbelsom to work with somone there not doing the same work as you, but it can make som good situation where you just have to laugh.
Lmao...how he got him upside down...hilarious lmao😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah, not sure what happened there. The last time I looked at the video before I posted it everything was correct. I had to optimize the videos because I kept getting an error in Luma fusion. So after I optimized the photos for some reason, some of them went upside down? Lol sorry about that.
I love how you pranked Jay!
I thought I was still high from last night when all of the sudden the video was upside down. I kept flipping the phone. LOL
Looking forward to the Tree house/ deck project.
lol. Sorry!
Brilliant Ray as well. Enjoying your video. Good afternoon from the UK
You’ll never know what you get with Jay’s videos. Stretched, upside down but always 5 star content 😂
