I so glad I found you. 30 yrs ago I dropped out of college my senior year. I was getting a BFA and other than color theory class, my instructions were "buy this paint and just do it". I've never been taught how to paint. Frustration overload. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos and dusting off my easel. It's never too late, right? ;)
I so love Sherpaween. I actually have an American Ringtail Boy born on Halloween 2021 and I named him Banshee Grimm. Also my Oldest son's Birthday born in 1988.
I love black cats so I had to try this one. I believe some of my difficulties in starting up with acrylics again, are my brushes. I tried ordering some that are mentioned but a lot is sold out. I have some brushes that I bought for a couple of Ginger Cook tutorials a couple years ago but I do not have hog bristle brushes.
This is hard for me because I only have 5 paint colors; red, yellow, blue, black, white. I usually just use ink for drawing, using paint is totally new to me. This series plus inktober, this is going to be a month of improvement. Lol Thank you for posting these painting guides. The Halloween theme is my jam. ❤️
THANK YOU YOUR TUTORIAL. I ENJOY WATCHING YOU. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU FINISH THE EDGES. I LEARN SOOOO MUCH FOLLOWING YOUR LESSON. MARIELLA FROM MALTA
More than I should they are the first time I have painted them outside of their original design. So I might have studies or sketches or digital paintings, but I won’t have done them in acrylic if you see a photo reference that I haven’t done them at all.
I remember the banana taped to the wall event! Also surprised there is no glazing liquid involved. Still so glad to have you posting again. I’m only half way through the vid but I love that technique of pulling in some back ground color to the trees!! I also agree you’re too positive of a person for twitter!!
I KNOW YOU MAY NEVER SEE THIS BUT JUST ON THE OFF CHANCE YOU DO. I JUST GOT OUT OF THE MENTAL HOSPITAL AND IM TRYING TO GET BACK INTO PAINTING AGAIN. BUT I CANT SEEM TO GET THE PAINT TO DO RIGHT. I FEEL LIKE GIVING UP.
I love you! Thank you for the amazing videos, you have helped me a lot. Question, if I wanna sketch on the canvas what do you suggest I use that will not mark like the pencils? You mention chalk?
So cute! I missed the live! I fell asleep here, I'm home with Covid, lucky me. Hopefully I can catch you in a few days. I enjoyed the lesson. Happy Art Hugs to you and John
Oh wow Cinnamon you did an amazing painting, me and a friend sat outside, hes never seen you before and he was so amazed ! This painting will be a gift to my Halloween Sisters Birthday! thanks for the shout out, love your works so much💜❤️💛🧡💙💚🎨💯
OMG! I laughed so hard when you said "Right now what I have is a Siamese kitty. Or a hairless cat." 😂😂😂😂 Thank you for the wonderful tutorial and for the laughs!
Re: 6:42 The reason people struggle with art is, very strangely, the reason they struggle to learn computer programming. There's something about human nature that views it all as a magic ritual, so the average person laser-focuses on copying things exactly, obsessing over brushes and generally feeling sorry for themselves when things don't go according to plan. A lot of recent college grads thought that if one line of code didn't provide the right answer, they should rush to type in a different, wildly unrelated one I'd introduced at a different point of our 'class.' It was truly strange, I'd say "Now stop and thi---..." and they'd be typing. Being a programmer and a painter basically require you to struggle with real-world problems and make lots of decisions. You have the enormous power of google and the practical reality of problem solving. In stark contrast, most people in modern society see themselves as helpless victims and basically get 'stuck' in a loop of self-defeat. I've encountered people who gave up trying to learn programming after one day! I thought that was pretty bad, but then I encountered people who gave up on art for even more trivial reasons. Paintings look bad due to a lack of practice. It's an inescapable fact that early ones sometimes look terrible... or else you spend 96 hours copying a youtube video painting inch by inch and it still looks so-so. To all you self defeaters out there... challenge yourself! Draw or paint with a broken stick, a burnt twig, the unspeakable grease in your air fryer. Buy a quart of craft paint in the primaries and use only that for a dozen paintings. Paint upside down and left handed. Put yourself in a situation where you have every excuse for failure and... you'll surprise yourself, I guarantee it.
I have the worst luck. I tried several times to get the background just right. When I was finally happy and let it dry,my youngest kid covered it with packing tape. Ugh
This is so precious! Can’t wait to try this! Black kitties are one of my favorites❤❤❤!
Thanks for the tutorial!! 😀
Thank you

Just noticed, your Doctor Who shirt, on the replay. 😍 Love it. It's fabulous! CHEERS.

I see the cat and bat can go up as a set. Great idea.

You don't have to just get the ones I use, any good hog bristle brush will also work 💞
This is my first video of yours and I am loving this!

He does other creative things!
Those are incredible. Have you done that before or is this the first time?
More than I should they are the first time I have painted them outside of their original design. So I might have studies or sketches or digital paintings, but I won’t have done them in acrylic if you see a photo reference that I haven’t done them at all.

Yes chalk is a great tool for sketching. Kids chalk, chalk pencils or a Dritz Chalk tailor tool
Wonderful painting Cinnamon!! Love that background and the kitty is so cute!!

I did him! HOORAY! Very pleased with how he came out! Looks a bit meaner than your sweet kitten, but love him anyways! Thanks Cinnamon!

This is awesome!
How do I prevent the paint on my pallet from drying out?
Try using a stay wet palette and mist your paints occasionally with a micro mister 💜
I have the worst luck. I tried several times to get the background just right. When I was finally happy and let it dry,my youngest kid covered it with packing tape. Ugh
I’m so sorry! Kids and pets can be hard studio assistants!
How’s your new adventures
So far so good we will do an update After Sherpween as we should have more tp share by then
Too old to know your words. I think you and John are too young for me. I don't know anything about movies. I do read some lol
