    I once read the entire book of James everyday for several months. I was experiencing a very difficult time. And was under alot of stress. Honestly the people around me saw the difference. The book of James forces you to take a look at ones self! My emotions controlled me..and through this book of James i lesrned to control my emotions and not my emotions conteolking me.

    Just found you. I am a brain neuroplasticity nerd as a retired educator. Nice to see the scripture tied into this.
    Having said that, I find the music so distracting in the video that it is a serious distraction to my brain!!! Please no music needed!! My brain & I'm sure others' brains are not happy with it.

    Timeless information. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 22 years ago. Innately have seen the result of mind body Spirit out of sync resulting in maladies of the body. Reverend Jack Shitama has written a useful little book entitled EVERYONE LOVES A NON ANXIOUS PRESENCE - Calm Down…Grow Up…Have your best life. He doesn’t quote scripture. I am grateful for the scriptures you cited. Practicing calming down does result in giving space to nurture your brain.
    Another practice I incorporate in my faith walk is Contemplative Prayer. Remaining silent for 20 minutes especially with a group brain friendly. Thank you taking the time to make this video.

    I just found you. I don't have neuroplasticity but have several mental health disorders. Lately they have shut me down again. I'll be 70 soon and I want to get back to church and my life. I cant drive after 530 pm because I can't see to drive in the dark. I feel trapped which feeds into my mental health. I'm going to watch this several times and follow you. Thank you for obeying God and helping us.

      Look up what Neuroplasticity is. It’s about how the brain can heal. Mental health issues come from many facets. We are in charge of our own thinking and must learn how to overcome. It can be done. I suffered many years being medicated for this and now because of my heart cry out to God and BELIEVING His word, I’ve become more free by the day. Also I am no longer medicated after nearly 3 decades.

    God has already healed All at the cross . Jesus took all sickness and disease at the cross .. God wants us well . Renew your mind to the truth …

    • @theresasarvis4280
      @theresasarvis4280 15 днів тому +5

      Part of this is true.. but saying God wants us all well.. misleading. Of course God can heal, but in His wisdom He may choose not to. As with Paul’s Thorn, David’s bouts with depression ect. Scripture states that in Heaven.. there is no more pain suffering diseases. There are things we can do to renew our minds, eat better ect. But in this body of flesh.. we are limited.. unless of course if God chooses to heal us. The “ Joy” we find is in knowing we have eternity with God, no matter our trials now.

    • @marionfurness
      @marionfurness 14 днів тому

      Then there is no point in renewing one’s mind to the truth of Gods Word. Why are you selling a concept that may or may not work?

      @@theresasarvis4280Paul's thorn was a temptation or torment from the devil not sickness as he explained himself, and David was before Jesus - He bore our sicknesses... By His stripes we were healed - Isaiha 53:5; Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17.

    As a person who believes similarly with you in our thought life I have to challenge you to examine scripture regarding physical healing... when you said God doesn't promise physical healing at roughly 3:50. Jesus healed all who had faith and he commanded us to heal the sick as well. It is written throughout scripture but many suffer from redacting scripture from the Bible.

    • @tammytorum3211
      @tammytorum3211 16 днів тому

      Yet, Christians die! Does that mean they didn't have enough faith to be physically healthy enough to stay alive?

      Well, he didn’t heal Paul so…?

    • @chadmcleish
      @chadmcleish 15 днів тому

      @auntlizzy1308 The thorn was not physical sickness. If you don't believe that Jesus said to heal the sick and cleanse the lepers do we rip those pages out of the Bible? I believe the next time I give a sermon at church I am going to stand in front with a Bible and rip out pages that people don't believe.

    Hello, I was going to use part of this video to enhance a teaching I am to do this Sunday. My suggestion is for you to slow down the cadence of your speech. The talking is to fast and there is no time to thoughtfully grasp what you are saying. No time for it to sink in. Please slow down so that your teaching is usable.

    Let me first say, I’ve read the Bible several times but it is unlike the hardy boys or even (insert favorite author/book title here) and so there is much I hadn’t been able to recall, let alone verify in the past…
    This is the FIRST time I recall mentally acknowledging that Jesus had a half brother. Estimating that the people of the time were as (corrupt) un-empathetic as they can seem in today’s world, I reevaluated “how would that turn out” measuring my own family’s disavow-ment (made that word up) of me and my borderline scripture level Truth.
    As we know, we are ALL Children Of God, yet some right now are judging just how they can respond with venom on this Truth sharing channel! How Great God is for aligning us at the most relevant times and how JOYFUL the life of a Witness for they know that when the challenges are great, the strengthening in Truth is equally great!
    I’ve got a little re-reading to go and I hope to verify further your insight… And if it is true, (today’s challenging global status being similar to yesterday’s status and status of people’s hearts) this brings to question…
    Why are we not helping one another to our greatest abilities, even to the point of becoming vulnerable ourselves? D would WE be ok in the world where someone (like Jesus AND James per what else can be found of his end of life) could outright murder a simple peaceful joyous person? Or would we start to HELP one another the moment we found that they truly wanted to receive Christ?
    In my earthly family, the actions of my elders does not align at all with what the values of my now deceased grandparents were. “They” valued life. The next in line and so forth (recognition often involves self-reflection) has a choice…
    Thanks for strengthening my mind!
    :)
