i’m so excited to continue with the bear & the nightingale series because I loved the first one so much & i know everyone says it’s their least favourite in the trilogy
I literally did the same thing while reading Black Sun! I started it thinking I'd read a few chapters before bed and then boom - suddenly there was daylight? Loved it, so much!
Riley, your ability to summarize a book and make it sound interesting is top notch. I wasn’t interested in reading Black Sun because descriptions and reviews have been so vague. Couldn’t understand WHAT the book was about. Now, because of you I plan to read it in January. Thanks!
Totally OT, but that cover for Black Sun is up there for me with the SJM House of Earth and Blood one. I'm not generally into covers but those two have to be the most STUNNING that I've ever laid eyes on. Glad you enjoyed all three books here. TFS :)
My obsession of Addie La Rue has reached the point where seeing it in people’s videos makes me smile 🤦🏼♀️ so happy you loved it too! This made me want to read Black Sun 😍
The previously released V.E. Schwab book closest to Addie would be The Near Witch, in my opinion (and of the ones I've read)... there are some similar elements and the atmosphere is a historical small village with magical realism, a dark threat and some romance. I liked it a lot!
I'm really excited for The Invisible Life of Addie Larue 😊🤗. Lately I've been reading a lot of dark romance but guess it's high time that I should jump back to fantasy now.
All of these are on my TBR! I think I’m going to wait to read Black Sun with Booked and Busy for her book club next Feb but I’m really freaking excited for it.
After I watched this I was so intrigued by your description of Black Sun I ordered it and it came in the mail today and I already finished it! I loved it so much! Thanks for all the amazing recs!
the way I love The Invisible of Addie LaRue is the same exact way I love The Starless Sea. I’m not saying that they’re exactly the same, but just... something about the way the stories were written made me feel... in love...? it’s about time I loved a V.E. Schwab novel
I truly loved Addie Larue. One of the most beautiful writing I have ever experienced 😍 also I was sensing from the very beginning I would fall in love with AddieLuc cause I‘m a sucker for a good villain as love interest trope and shocker I totally did haha
I LOVED Addie also!! And I really enjoyed The Bear and the Nightingale too. Can't wait to read The Black Sun. I love your videos-we have very similar taste, so I know I can count on your reviews to be right for me. Have a great day!!
the black and white fit was the cutest omg. also maybe do one of these for just straight up high fantasy? double also, thank you for this video ahh you are the first person to ever make me interested in the bear and the nightingale, and i previously wasn't interested in black sun bc the cover looks so scifi but now im excited!!
About the house demons from "The Bear and The Nightingale" - some people still believe in them to this day and they are considered the mischievous protectors of home. One of my favorite Russian cartoon series as a child was about such creature, whose family moves from an old house to a modern city appartment, and him being all frustrated and fuzzy about it - trying to live in ventilation fan or oven, because there were no dark corners he can hide in. It was so hilarious!
The description of your new favourite character in Black Sun, oh my goodness I laughed so hard at you description; stepping right in to a messy bisexual character lol. Besides your epic descriptive character start the book does sound extremely interesting and possibly one that I could pick up.
Your dog made me laugh in this video, you kept getting the look as if to say “Hey do you know what time it is, be quiet and 💤 “ The pooch then gives up and snores, pets of a book reader...life must be tough.
I loved The Bear and the Nightingale as well as Addie Larue. I have seen another reviewer agree and say that the main love story in the book is not Addie and Henry. That's all I can say without spoilers. I need more from that story!
I loved the first chapter in black sun but sadly didn't enjoy the book, it just went downhill for me. The romance was forced and the ending was rushed 😭
For future highest rated books I’d love to see one on science fiction.

Same for me!
Totally OT, but that cover for Black Sun is up there for me with the SJM House of Earth and Blood one. I'm not generally into covers but those two have to be the most STUNNING that I've ever laid eyes on. Glad you enjoyed all three books here. TFS :)
Can't wait to read Black Sun even more now.
My obsession of Addie La Rue has reached the point where seeing it in people’s videos makes me smile 🤦🏼♀️ so happy you loved it too! This made me want to read Black Sun 😍
The way you said "We love a messy bisexual" had me laughing 🤣
When you were binging Riley's videos all day and now you have a brand new one to watch... we love to see it.
I suggest The highest rated horror books! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
The previously released V.E. Schwab book closest to Addie would be The Near Witch, in my opinion (and of the ones I've read)... there are some similar elements and the atmosphere is a historical small village with magical realism, a dark threat and some romance. I liked it a lot!

I read The Bear and the Nightingale last month too, and I also really enjoyed it! Can't wait to read the rest of the series 🙈
All of these are on my TBR! I think I’m going to wait to read Black Sun with Booked and Busy for her book club next Feb but I’m really freaking excited for it.
I’ve been seeing everyone where that same plaid overall/jumpsuit set in so many winter videos!! Guess it’s time for me to get one
I felt confused by Black Sun so I put it aside & need to go back to it when I have better attention skills! I’ve heard nothing but good things.
After I watched this I was so intrigued by your description of Black Sun I ordered it and it came in the mail today and I already finished it! I loved it so much! Thanks for all the amazing recs!
Prep school one of the students was just murdered is a look you need to do every day 😂 love that outfit! And we stan Morozko foreverrrrr.

i’m so hype to read black sun, and you’ve actually convinced me to read addie
These videos get me so hyped up to read. Not just these books (yes I'll be reading these for SURE), but just in general.
I'm so happy you said the middle part of the Bear and the Nightingale was a slog. I'm trying to slog through it right now
Your videos make me want to read literally every book you love
Man u got my sold on reading black sun 🖤
I LOVED Addie also!! And I really enjoyed The Bear and the Nightingale too. Can't wait to read The Black Sun. I love your videos-we have very similar taste, so I know I can count on your reviews to be right for me. Have a great day!!
I literally check your channel every night to see if you have a new video. So glad to see a new one today.
Ahh I still haven't read Addie LaRue! I've recently just finished The Bear and the Nightingale and loved it SO much - so pleased you enjoyed it!
Riley plzzz read Strange the Dreamer duology and The Name of the Wind! U will definitely love them!
You completely sold me on Black Sun SO HARD!!
Starting Black Sun now because I’ve been so hyped for it I was scared to dive in. Now I’m just excited!
Your excitement for these books makes me excited to read them now! I hope you’ll do a highest rated science fiction or horror next.
Loving these fantasy recommendations! Have you read and or rated the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews?
the black and white fit was the cutest omg. also maybe do one of these for just straight up high fantasy? double also, thank you for this video ahh you are the first person to ever make me interested in the bear and the nightingale, and i previously wasn't interested in black sun bc the cover looks so scifi but now im excited!!
“While I’m just over here trying to figure out how checkers work” that had me dying 😂
Instantly subscribed when you mentioned you love the cast list in Black Sun because I’m also “dumb and I get confused!” 🤣💕
id love to see a video on highest rated sapphic books but i dont know how easy it would be to figure out
Any recommendations for bad boy + good girl college fiction romances?? 👉🏻👈🏻

Great to see you back in another video. Wow that copy of the Katherine Arden book is absolutely stunning 😧👌
The description of your new favourite character in Black Sun, oh my goodness I laughed so hard at you description; stepping right in to a messy bisexual character lol. Besides your epic descriptive character start the book does sound extremely interesting and possibly one that I could pick up.

AHHH!! FANTASY - literally all i read...
I’m so excited to watch this! 💕
I love these videos! Maybe you could do highest rated horror or scifi!
Not sure if you only wanted to stick to genres but for your highest rated series it be cool if you did concepts like dark forest, antihero, etc.
Black Sun sounds so GOOD! It's a shame I struggle with fantasy rn😩
I gave Addie a HARD 3. Had some beautiful lines. Mostly I found it mediocre 😔 wish I loved it more
A 30 minute vlog?! Merry Christmas to me ❤️❤️
Love your outfit!
To me, Addie LaRue is an Ode to Life. I simply loved it. Also, if you haven't read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig please, do!
Now i want to read black sun
I loved The Bear and the Nightingale as well as Addie Larue. I have seen another reviewer agree and say that the main love story in the book is not Addie and Henry. That's all I can say without spoilers. I need more from that story!
lol the " I finished " is so me it hurts
I loved Addie LaRue with one exception: Henry. I found him to be the biggest Mary Stu of a wet blanket.
Ah, doesn't like fantasy. I write fantasy and I couldn't see myself writing anything else. Good video.
Aaaaaaa I really want to read Addie LaRue🥺
I would love to see historical fiction. :)
Highest rated Sci Fi since you secretly love it lol
Where is that dress from???
Loki giving you the side eye because were up so late and he was trying to sleep.
💖
Are these books huge or are you tiny? I love your videos!
Haha yes I loved how spiteful Addie was for getting such a bad deal.
I am a new subscriber and I just love you! You should see my TBR since I subscribed about a week ago😂😂😂
I hated Bear in the Nightingale but I did enjoy Addie La Rue. I rated it 4 stars.
This isn't a fantasy rec it's a romance rec but have you heard of Her Lady to Love? It's a queer historical romance that came out in November.
aaahh my perfect child destined to change the world, vaseline
Black Sun sounded good but I cannot deal with child torture or mutilation. UGH
Hello
I loved the first chapter in black sun but sadly didn't enjoy the book, it just went downhill for me. The romance was forced and the ending was rushed 😭
Okay but I need the wife upstairs
