My first Buddy read and I really enjoyed it, lots of material to fuel my wild theorising and imagination, plus a great bunch of more sensible and learned voices to learn from lol Big thanks Owen!

Interesting book, couldn't join for the readalong, but this discussion was very nice to listen to.
I've only read it once, right after I finished reading The Silmarillion. It was a good read, I liked the commentary from Christopher Tolkien.

I know you’ve mentioned that you think Tolkien’s best writing is in the Tale of Aragorn and Arwen, and I don’t feel the need to contradict that, but Of Tour has some of his most beautifully described stuff ever. I never thought I could be interested in somebody walking through a series of gates, but somehow that section just draws you in and immerses you in a way that maybe nothing else he wrote can do. Great review.

Of Tuor is certainly amongst his most beautiful writing, I agree. It's the standout in UF from that perspective.
