if you have ever seen him surf in person...its 10x's more incredible...and he is a kind man...he smiles alot and gets stoked on seeing kids get good waves more than adults. Rad
I really enjoyed this video! I have been learning to surf and your channel has been great with lots of tips and the coaches eye is really helpful. I am learning on a longboard and possibly other beginners are too. If you are willing to, I would really love to see more longboarders in coaches eye in the future. Thanks a lot!
You guys should totally do a break-down of Trevor Gordon's surfing... Possibly the most underrated surfer on the planet, the man can ride anything beautifully.
Brilliant guys, really nice reinforcement of the key principles - being upright, soft knees, quiet hands. BTW do you guys study either Gray Cook or Ido Portal - both movement pattern specialists in the field of rehab therapy and contemporary dance/gymnastics/martial arts. Your philosophy is completely in tune with them - you are all great movement pioneers.
I’ve found turning off the tail on a longboard is not so much pushing off the tail , but more like lifting your front foot , ( similar to a skateboard ) , after putting your back foot on the tail.

I have started playing surfboarding because it was on the olympics. Is a hard sport and people keep yelling at me, maybe because im better or ready then they are im not sure tho haha lol. Anybuts, how can I go faster? Can you make a video about how to go faster. I always fall on my face sometimes I fall flat on my back but usually on my face maybe because ' im. Not going fast enough?
his son surfs with the exact same straight back. it’s crazy. watching his son surf is like watching a mini Joel. it’s unmistakable.
