This was a well done comparison of the models. Interstingly I found on Amazon the spec for the 5300-2 is 3 lbs heavier than the 5500-2. I placed the order for the 5300-2 simply because I am not concerned with the odor absorption benefits of the pellet based charcoal filter of the 5500-2. I’m looking to reduce the chances of COVID-19 virus in the house. I already run 4 20” box fans with filtrete 20x20” high grade filters on the back. Its amazing how much dirt these filters catch. Hi, I'm also using 5300-2 and thinking of buying another one or (5500-2). In parallel, I'm also planning to buy box fan/filter (DIY) unit. Did you say you have 4 of those? What box fan / filter (brands) do you use? I'm buying things from Amazon.ca (Canada). Thanks.
Bought the 5500-2 ten months ago and it eventually made a ticking noise and I couldn’t sleep and agitated me as I read or watched videos. Today I purchased the XL Winix D 480 at Home Depot for $ 219.00 and is beautiful in white! I use the turbo setting and then can put it on sleep mode and it is SO QUIET. Ahhh 🙃
If your not going to or don't want to mess with the warranty on the Winix (2 years). The ticking noise is most likely the impeller. It tends to come lose sometimes or not be tightened enough at the factory. There are multiple videos showing how to fix it. ua-cam.com/video/kWxs-RHd3dI/v-deo.html How do you like the D480? It seems to be a more powerful Winix 5300-2 (250 CFM) with no Plasmawave. I've been thinking about buying a D480 for the higher CFM (320 CFM).
Truly helpful review. I'm thinking of buying these in the UK. Actually i've been using one of these for 3 years in S Korea, almost 24 hrs on, it never went out of order. Mark that Winix is one of the leading manufacturers in S Korea, perhaps better performing than its high price competitors like Samsung or LG, it's definitely a good buy.
Have you tried out the Winix D480 yet? It looks like Winix is only selling it at HomeDepot. It looks like it's basically a 5300-2 with a more powerful motor (90W). The D480 says it is AHAM verified for a 480 square foot room. The CADR of the D480: 310, 312, 348. So the CFM would be something like 320 CFM (CADR->CFM). I'm trying to get the specs from Winix. From what I can tell it uses a impregnated carbon filter like the 5300-2. No Plasmawave. If this is true. The Winix D480 could be a better purifier than the 5300-2 & 5500-2 if you don't care about the pellet carbon filter. For the price it's also getting close to the CFM of the the BlueAir 211+ (350 cfm) but with an actual TrueHepa filters. I've read some reviews that this model will be rebranded in this year (2021) by Winix.
Have you tried out the C545? The features are pretty much identical to the 5500-2 + it has wifi compatibility. It's even cheaper than the 5500-2 at Costco. Can't find many reviews on it though!
@@consumer-analysis Are the dimensions for the filter insert different on 5500-2 v 5300-2? I'm assuming they are the same, and maybe the hepa filter on 5500-2 is thinner to accommodate for the thicker carbon pellet. If that's true, filter replacement for 5500-2 (hepa + carbon) should fit in 5300-2. Let me know if the dimensions are same or not. Thanks.
Great info, and we recently purchased a 5500-2. We are looking to buy a couple more air purifiers. One is for a smaller room (about 160 sq. ft.), and I am wondering if you have evaluated the Winix tabletop A231? Or should we just use a 5500-2 and run it on a lower speed? Also, have you looked at the Winix C545, which is exclusive to Costco?
Looks to me like they are Identical, they just improved the charcoal filter ? so MY ? did they make the new unit slightly different so that the new filter won't fit or can we upgrade the quality of the 5300 by exchanging it with the new filter
You only seem to be able to buy the 5500-2 and 5300-2 in the US. Elsewhere, you can only really get the C535 (branded as the "Winix Zero"), but it costs far more, and the replacement filters are more expensive than alternative brands.
Great analysis... Help me out tremendously. I purchased the winks 5500=2 and really happy. My question is I saw the winix C535 at Costco for 100 less here in canada. I wanted to know if I can put the better carbon pellets filter in instead of the carbon mat. Does it fit?
Sure wish I saw these post before buying d480 has carbon sheet filter Now looking at 5500 2 because of filter Please advise best for smoke smell from neighbors apartment I might ad just bought d480 and can still return it
I bought 1 today and i have standard 2 years warranty. After registration on the Winix EU website i get another year extra. So i have 3 years warranty. So it depends where you buy it.
Great video! A question, i live in Europe, Sweden and i have a hard time finding a 5500-2 in Europe, the highest model that i can find in Sweden is called zero pro. How is the zero pro compared to the 5500-2? Is there a counterpart to the 5500-2 in Europe, maybe you know? Thanks again for a great video!
@Consumer Analysis 2:13 You said that the warranty for the Winix 5500-2 is only a year. The info pamphlet says it's has a 2 year warranty. Has the warranty updated since the making of this video or possible script error? Digital Dave says as much @1:15 in his video: Winix 5500-2s Air Purifier Review: Pros, Cons and Performance Analysis.
Have you noticed a difference between 5300 vs 5500 carbon filters? I see this pointed out a lot, but no one actually mentions many differences other than it's supposed to be better. Does it do that much better of a job at trapping odors and gasses from your tests? I have the C545 from Costco (comparable to a 5300-2) and while it is an amazing device for the Wi-Fi/Alexa features and I'd miss it, I'd like something that can do even a 20-30% better job at trapping odors or just making the air feel slightly fresher.
Yes, it does do a much better job. See my full analysis of odor filtration for more information: www.consumeranalysis.com/guides/air-purifiers/carbon-air-filter/
The 5500-2 is better for odors because it has a pellet based carbon filter (vs a fibrous filter in the 5300-2). Its HEPA and carbon filter have to be replaced. The pre-filter is washable and is not replaced.
Do you fell the 6300-2 is a major upgrade to the 5300-2... it's odd that it seems the 6300-2 is the upgraded version yet doesn't have the carbon pellets, but the fabric instead
Just bought one... Hopefully it will take all of the allergens out of the air so I'm able to breathe better works as well as people say it says I will buy a 2nd model for the living room...
That's a big reason why I recommend the Winix at its price vs larger units. It allows you to use multiple units in multiple rooms and scale up over time exactly the way you described.
Man - i got into a rabbit hole with air purifiers and came across your in depth, great analytical reviews - but at the same time, easy to follow. Annoyingly, im based in UK and we don't have the Winx 5500-2! Do you have any recommendations for similar price points for your UK viewers? Thank you dude!
Thanks for the very informative video. I have a quick question, I just purchased the C545 wifi model was wondering if I can swap out the carbon filter with the more advanced 5500 model carbon filter. Since they are pretty similar. I'm not sure if the sizes are identical. Any thoughts? Thanks again for all the great work! 👍
are they basically re branded Sharp Plasmaclusters ? I have Sharps and its getting harder and harder to get filters so I might switch to winix if they are comparable in performance, would you say they are comparable?
what filters do you recommend for the 5500-2? I found different brands on amazon and would like to go with a more affordable one but not sacrifice performance. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the detailed review. In addition to a 5500-2 in the living room, I’m looking for another Winix model with a white exterior that is similar to the 5500-2 in performance, noise level, energy consumption, and cost for replacing filters. I'm willing to spend a little more upfront to pursue a model that would blend in more with the room interior, as long as it doesn't come at the sacrifice of performance. I was wondering if you could share any insights on some of the key differences in performance between the Winix AM90 > HR900 > C555 (my current preference), and maybe a list in the order of your recommendations. Among the options, it looks like the 5500-2, HR900, and C555 use a pellet based carbon filter. I understand the benefits of an Advanced Odor Control carbon filter, but it’s not a must have for the second unit. The anti-microbial filter for C555 is also not important, and I am curious if filter H that 5500-2 uses will fit C555. In addition, do you know if I will be able to use the HR900 without the pet filter, since I don't have a pet and don't see the need of using that extra filter? Will the air purifier perform just as well without it? Thank you very much.
The C555 looks like it's almost identical to the 5500-2 except for color and a different front grille. As such, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I prefer the 5500-2/C555 over the AM90 because it offers better gas filtration - it has a pellet based carbon filter vs the fibrous filter of the AM90. But otherwise the AM90 is a solid option. I also prefer the 5500-2/C555 over the HR900. The extra "pet" filter on the HR900 acts as an additional pre-filter but you already have a washable pre-filter on the 5500-2. The extra "pet" filter also has to be replaced at cost. Then again, it does look like you can simply not use the pet filter as you suggested. Doing so should have minimal impact on the unit's performance.
For Model 5500-2. Does this PlasaWave/ Ionizer automatically turn on by default with each power on of the unit? Or do you have to manually turn it on each time? I have read that it will always turn on by default Also if you have it off, will it ever turn on mid cycle through any mode, Auto or manual? Others complained that the Plasawave was off when they went to bed and they woke up and it was on. I want to purchase this product for my mom who is older and has asthma and lung problems but can not have the Ionizer on and do not want her to have to remember to turn it off every time.
I have a question I cannot find the answer for, I see that the 5500-2 is 300ish CAD on Amazon, but 165ish on Home Depot, on HD it's called air cleaner, and air purifier on Amazon. Are there two Winix 5500-2? Or are they the same unit with wildly different prices?
The 5500-2 can only release ozone with its plasmawave feature (ionizer) turned on. And this feature can easily be turned off and left off. Though even with it turned on the unit is still completely safe to use: ww2.arb.ca.gov/our-work/programs/air-cleaners-ozone-products/california-certified-air-cleaning-devices
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your reviews. I am very close to buy the Winix 5500-2 even though doesn't look as great aesthetically. Would love your thoughts on the Air Doctor 3000?
I haven't had a chance to review the Air Doctor 3000 though looking at its specifications compared to its price it's highly unlikely I will recommend it.
I recommend purchasing an air quality meter separately and using it to monitor particle concentration over time. Using such a meter you'll see a drastic reduction in concentration when you first start using the air purifier. As soon as you see this reduction taking much longer than usual it's time for a new filter.
So to be clear.......the C535 has a CFM of about 250? Also, on Costco’s current site they are selling a C545, is it the same unit as the C535? All of these units and numbers!!! Hahaha. Thank you for your reviews, they are the best I’ve watched, and I’ve watched a bunch of them over the last week!
I've been looking at the Winix 5500-2, this is for a small room 9x10 and getting rid of cigarette odor "I smoke 15 to 20 cigarettes a day" can you possibly let me know if this will keep my room odor 'gases' free, I found the price reasonable and with the charcoal filter + Hepa should do the trick your input would much appreciated..Thanks
Thanks for the detailed reviews! We are in Northern California and socked in with wildfire smoke. I just bought a 5500-2 for the livingroom and then decided we should get a 2nd for the bedroom, but supplies are depleted everywhere online and in local retailers, so I scored a 5300-2. Do I understand from your statements that it might now work as well on "gas filtration?" Also, you state that the C535 is the same CFM as both the 5500 and the 5300, but I stumbled across CFM ratings online that stated the C535 is 197cfm VS 250CFM for the 5500-2. Can you confirm this information? Thanks for your time! Great video.
First of all, thank you for the kind words! To answer your questions: Yes, the 5300-2 comes with an inferior carbon filter and so will not filter gases as well as the 5500-2. The C535 has the exact same output (CFM) as the 5500-2. I know this from comparing the CADR of the C535 to the CADR of the 5500-2 listed on their product pages at winixamerica.com. The CFM ratings you found online elsewhere are incorrect.
Hi. I just saw another air purifier with a different filter called, NANOIS, are these better than HEPA? there are so many products claiming to be the best, latest, etc. and I am going crazy with all this competition and their information. Thanks.
I highly recommend sticking to buying an air purifier with a HEPA filter. See "Myth 2" in this guide: www.consumeranalysis.com/guides/air-purifiers/hepa-air-purifier/
What do you think about the new Winix AM80 vs the Winix 5500-2? From all stats I can find, the main difference comes down to the timer & remote availability, and CADR (dust / pollen / smoke): [AM80] 233 / 240 / 230 vs. [5500-2] 243 / 246 / 232. How big of a difference does this lower CADR from the AM80 make? They're the same price on the Winix site. Basically wondering if the lower CADR from the AM80 is worth the more modern look, but not really willing to sacrifice lower performance if it's going to make a tangible difference. What are your thoughts?
Looking at the specifications for the AM80, I don't think there should be much difference in performance between it and the 5500-2. If you prefer the more modern look of the AM80 I say go for it.
What do you think about the Winix C555? It has the pellet based carbon filter but it is more expensive. I am not sure the CFM which I guess would make a difference to you. But Costco sells it and it comes with a 2 year warranty as opposed to a 1 year warranty and white would fit better in my daughter's room, so just wondering if you know anything about it... Thank you for your very thoughtful, thorough reviews and comparisons.
Wish Costco sold the 5500-2 I prefer the all black, it matches my other devices better and the fact you get Costco’s member warranty. Just ordered a 5500-2 from Amazon that will be replacing a Fellowes AeraMax 300 unit purchased in 2014, it still runs great and is being handed down to a family member. Do you happen to know how they compare?
The Winix has greater output (approx. 250 CFM vs only about 180 CFM for the Fellowes) and offers better gas filtration (the Winix has a pellet based carbon filter vs a fibrous filter in the Fellowes).
Just bought two at Home Depot online for $166 each and some odd cents. Replacement filters appear to be cheapest at Target. Best Buy May match prices if home Depot should run out.
can i use the 5300-2 filters in a 5500-2 model? Best buy sells a pack that it says fits both 5300 and 5500, it has the filter and 3-4 charcoal filters not the honecobmb design.....they are cheaper to replace and I don't care about odors.. thanks!
The Zero is a 5300-2 equivalent while the Zero Pro is an approximate 5500-2 equivalent. Though I haven't been able to test them (I'm based in the US), these European equivalents should offer very similar performance to the US models I did test and talk about in this video.
I'm somewhat skeptical that the 5500-2's carbon filter is better than the 5300-2 After 6 months of washing how effective is the pellet filter? I have a feeling that in months 6-12 the NEW (vs washed) fiber filter is more effective.
The recommended maintenance schedule is to vacuum or wash the prefilter every 2-4 weeks, to wash the carbon filter every 3 months, and to replace both the HEPA filter and the carbon filter at 12 months or less.
Hi @Consumer Analaysis, can a Winix C535 use the pellet filter from the 5500-2? Are the filters the exact same size? Asking because the 5500-2 looks hideous.
I have one of those. It really doesn't make a difference. Think about it this way. If the HEPA filter is catching the mold spores then they don't need to be killed as they aren't going back out into the room. It's nice to have and I turn on the UVC every now and then but it's now really a necessity. HEPA already takes it out of the air and you'll throw that away so it doesn't really matter.
The 5500-2 is the better option. The extra "pet" filter on the HR900 acts as an additional pre-filter but you already have a washable pre-filter on the 5500-2. The extra "pet" filter also has to be replaced at cost.
Does the 5500-2 filter fit inside the 5300-2? They seem aesthetically almost identical so I was wondering if I could buy the 5500 filter replacement for my 5300 to have the pellet-based carbon filter.
Hi how about 6300-2 compare to 5500-2 is it big different is it worth it to buy 6300-2 model instead ?? right now i am using levoit pur131 lets say if i have a allergy to dust
Anyone know what the small side panel thing is for on the 5000 series air purifiers? You can see it in the model diagram from the user manual from the back, it almost looks like a battery compartment.
@@elijahfluw4347 is that what you can see on the left side of the the unit in the beginning of the video? It's not on the main control panel on the front face of the unit
Hearing alot about the plasma ozone or suttin like that being hazardous. Can u help need understand this? I have a studio 400 square feet or so give or take. I have issues with a offensive smell coming from the kitchen. My apartment is one big living room..
I discuss ionizers in detail here: www.consumeranalysis.com/guides/air-purifiers/air-ionizers/ If you're concerned about whether or not the unit is safe to use see here: ww2.arb.ca.gov/our-work/programs/air-cleaners-ozone-products/california-certified-air-cleaning-devices
If you're talking about the Winix 5300-2 or 5500-2 I would recommend two such units for a 600 sq. ft. space. You could try using one at first to see if it lowers particle concentration to an acceptable level for you, but based on my testing I wouldn't recommend one unit for any space larger than about 300 sq. ft.
What type of air quality monitor do you use in your testing? And is it effective at accurately quantifying concentrations of very small particles (sub 0.3 microns) too?

If your not going to or don't want to mess with the warranty on the Winix (2 years). The ticking noise is most likely the impeller. It tends to come lose sometimes or not be tightened enough at the factory. There are multiple videos showing how to fix it. ua-cam.com/video/kWxs-RHd3dI/v-deo.html
How do you like the D480?
I ordered both today excited for the delivery tomorrow
Have you tried out the C545? The features are pretty much identical to the 5500-2 + it has wifi compatibility. It's even cheaper than the 5500-2 at Costco. Can't find many reviews on it though!
Came across your channel as I was researching air purifiers. Love the reviews and website. Subscribed.
Thanks for the kind words and welcome!
Great review thank you. Excellent that you highlight country of manufacture.
Thank you. Went with the 5500-2
Will a replacement pellet based carbon filter for a 5500-2 work in a 5300-2?
Unfortunately, no. It won't fit. The pellet based carbon filter is thicker.
Ok, thanks for the reply. Your review videos are excellent!
Thanks.
@@christianarrieta They are not the same. The filters are not interchangeable.
@Mark Victor Unfortunately, I'm not aware of anyone selling a set of carbon filters separate from an included HEPA filter.
Looks to me like they are Identical, they just improved the charcoal filter ? so MY ? did they make the new unit slightly different so that the new filter won't fit or can we upgrade the quality of the 5300 by exchanging it with the new filter
does the 5500-2 carbon filter fit the 5300-2
You only seem to be able to buy the 5500-2 and 5300-2 in the US.
Would love for you to review the new Winix am80/90 and compare them to the Winix 5500/5300-2
Sure wish I saw these post before buying d480 has carbon sheet filter
Now looking at 5500 2 because of filter
Please advise best for smoke smell from neighbors apartment
I might ad just bought d480 and can still return it
Are washable carbon pellet filters from 5500-2 physically compatible with 5300-2 and C535?
No, it is not, unfortunately.
@@consumer-analysis do you remember what causes the compatibility issue?
@@pooofykittens The pellet filter is too thick to fit in the 5300-2.
thoughts on the plasmawave feature?
I bought 1 today and i have standard 2 years warranty. After registration on the Winix EU website i get another year extra. So i have 3 years warranty. So it depends where you buy it.
thank you, I just bought 3 of the 5500-2's.
at 1:28 you said "will filter any type of gases" -- you forgot to say excludes formaldehyde and possibly other paint varieties
What do you think about building your own air purifier? Does slapping some high quality fans on some filters work?
What do you think of the winix c545 from Costco? Thanks!
Do we need to run this 24/7 or only while sleeping
Great video!
A question, i live in Europe, Sweden and i have a hard time finding a 5500-2 in Europe, the highest model that i can find in Sweden is called zero pro. How is the zero pro compared to the 5500-2?
Is there a counterpart to the 5500-2 in Europe, maybe you know?
Thanks again for a great video!
The Zero Pro is essentially the 5500-2 equivalent for Europe. It has even slightly greater output and comes with a similar gas filter.
@Consumer Analysis
2:13 You said that the warranty for the Winix 5500-2 is only a year. The info pamphlet says it's has a 2 year warranty. Has the warranty updated since the making of this video or possible script error?
Digital Dave says as much @1:15 in his video: Winix 5500-2s Air Purifier Review: Pros, Cons and Performance Analysis.
really good details on air purifiers! just subscribed!
here in the UK I get 3 years warranty for 5300-02 model which is good
Have you noticed a difference between 5300 vs 5500 carbon filters?
Which one is best for odors and best priced? How many filters have to be replaced or are washable?
The 5500-2 is better for odors because it has a pellet based carbon filter (vs a fibrous filter in the 5300-2).
Its HEPA and carbon filter have to be replaced. The pre-filter is washable and is not replaced.
@@consumer-analysis Thanks!!!
@@richdiorio3650 No problem at all. Glad I could help!
Do you think having a humidifier on the other side of a room flyaway from the winix, will introduce too much moisture into the purifier?
I bought a Winix based on your reviews .
any odd smell going on? I've heard that the winix makes a weird smell.
@@anthonynohra3955 I don't smell anything .
Thanks!
what model did you go for and how is it still performing and is the quality still holding up?
Man - i got into a rabbit hole with air purifiers and came across your in depth, great analytical reviews - but at the same time, easy to follow. Annoyingly, im based in UK and we don't have the Winx 5500-2! Do you have any recommendations for similar price points for your UK viewers? Thank you dude!
My recommendation is the Winix Zero Pro (5500-2 equivalent) or the Zero (5300-2).
Unfortunately, the filter sizes are not identical. The 5500-2's carbon filter has quite a bit more depth to it and won't fit properly in the C545.
Can you review the Sharp air purifiers?
are they basically re branded Sharp Plasmaclusters ? I have Sharps and its getting harder and harder to get filters so I might switch to winix if they are comparable in performance, would you say they are comparable?
What’s the difference between those 5300 models and the 6300? Anything of importance? Thanks!
what filters do you recommend for the 5500-2? I found different brands on amazon and would like to go with a more affordable one but not sacrifice performance. Thanks in advance!
Based on my research I would recommend authentic Winix replacement filters. I would like to test third party offerings in the future.
@@consumer-analysis much appreciated!! thank you so much, i will stick with Winix filters
The AM80 has a pellet filter. I think its the same as the AM90, but with the washable carbon filter. Not sure if it comes in white yet.
What do you recommend for someone with MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity)
Any concern with ozone emission with the plasmawave technology ? Your videos are helping me making a choice. Thank you!
I have the 5500-2 and the HEPA filter lasted me an entire year. I also have dogs.
How would you compare the D480 to these?
How do you know when you need to change the filters?
I recommend purchasing an air quality meter separately and using it to monitor particle concentration over time. Using such a meter you'll see a drastic reduction in concentration when you first start using the air purifier. As soon as you see this reduction taking much longer than usual it's time for a new filter.
So to be clear.......the C535 has a CFM of about 250? Also, on Costco’s current site they are selling a C545, is it the same unit as the C535? All of these units and numbers!!! Hahaha. Thank you for your reviews, they are the best I’ve watched, and I’ve watched a bunch of them over the last week!
Yes, the C535 should have a CFM of about 250. The C545 adds wifi but has a fibrous carbon filter while the C535 has a pellet based carbon filter.
I've been looking at the Winix 5500-2, this is for a small room 9x10 and getting rid of cigarette odor "I

Hello, have you reviewed the hr900 yet? HOw does it compare to the 5500-2?

Is this 6300-2 just as good (or better) as the 5500-2?
@@consumer-analysis thanks so much!

150! The cheapest I could find was 223 😥🥺
Prices of air purifiers have gone up in the recent weeks because of all the fires in the west coast.
Just bought two at Home Depot online for $166 each and some odd cents. Replacement filters appear to be cheapest at Target. Best Buy May match prices if home Depot should run out.
I just bought a new Winix 5500-2 for $149 on EBAY .

No, unfortunately, you cannot - they won't fit.
What are your views on the Winix Zero, Winix Zero N, or the Winix Air Purifier Zero Pro? Those are the models available in the UK.
The Zero is a 5300-2 equivalent while the Zero Pro is an approximate 5500-2 equivalent.
Though I haven't been able to test them (I'm based in the US), these European equivalents should offer very similar performance to the US models I did test and talk about in this video.
I'm somewhat skeptical that the 5500-2's carbon filter is better than the 5300-2
After 6 months of washing how effective is the pellet filter? I have a feeling that in months 6-12 the NEW (vs washed) fiber filter is more effective.
The recommended maintenance schedule is to vacuum or wash the prefilter every 2-4 weeks, to wash the carbon filter every 3 months, and to replace both the HEPA filter and the carbon filter at 12 months or less.
Hi @Consumer Analaysis, can a Winix C535 use the pellet filter from the 5500-2? Are the filters the exact same size? Asking because the 5500-2 looks hideous.
No, unfortunately the filters are not interchangeable.
I.am curious if the pelet based carbon filter used in the 5500 will fit the 5300. I just ordered a 5300. Got a good deal.
Does it fit in the 5300? A lot of people asking but no answers.
I saw where there was a purifyer that killed mold with uv light can you elaborate on this as Im noticing the units you feature dont have this
I have one of those.
What do you think about the Winix HR900 vs the 5500-2 specifically for controlling for pet allergies?
The 5500-2 is the better option. The extra "pet" filter on the HR900 acts as an additional pre-filter but you already have a washable pre-filter on the 5500-2. The extra "pet" filter also has to be replaced at cost.

If you're talking about the Winix 5300-2 or 5500-2 I would recommend two such units for a 600 sq. ft. space. You could try using one at first to see if it lowers particle concentration to an acceptable level for you, but based on my testing I wouldn't recommend one unit for any space larger than about 300 sq. ft.
