Here after Apanui won Te Matatini 2023 😍
Me too! I was watching delayed footage on TVNZ+ (removed now), and the darn stream reloaded the instant before they came on! I hope the 2023 one is uploaded here soon
The most beautiful traditional music that i hav ever listened to, and i am a nz pakeha. Proud to have made myself watch it. Awesome ,
I do love & enjoy watching so much the Maori's cultural performance. - Singapore
I love Maori song. Powerful and prideful indigenous of Aotearoa
Polished. So great to watch. Been a fan since they won in 2005 in Papaieoa.
I'm whanau to this group, but I haven't performed at matatini at all, but been to every matatini
Absolutely amazing performance. Powerful, beautiful and strong. ❤
Te Whanau Apanui me Te Waka Huia are my favorite Maori Kapahaka group in Aotearoa so flawless at least I got to see my 2 favourite kapahaka roopu live at the Rotorua Matatini before I left Aotearoa in 2013. At home in Ngoy we were joined by other whanau to watch the prize giving I did say to my whanau that Te Waka Huia and Te Whanau Apanui will win and that most of the Rotorua kapahaka roopu are no longer champions.
Yeah that year it was Waka Huia 1st and Apanui 2nd probably my two favourite Haka groups
their whakaeke has the same tune to "E Ku'u Morning Dew" of Hawai'i
Would have gave them the win
Ka rawe
