Hi. I didnt get. I have the same version of arnold, but first render looks totally different, theres only smoke in ipr, no fire. U can see this even without volume material. How?

u didnt do any changes in your settings on 1:10, but still can render pyro even without volume material. i did the same and theres no fire fire in my ipr, i can see only smoke if my quad light has 10 intensity and exposure

@@misterdoctor9688 same here. I only have smoke no fire. When I started doing the exact same things in the video my smoke was white-grey when his was immediately the colour of fire. I don't understand as I did everything EXACTLY the same as him.

I was finally able to get my render to work, but the IPR window is totally bugged for viewing pyro.
I'm not sure how you got yours to work, but my IPR window doesn't show any colour other than the smoke. The fire renders fine but there is no colour for the fire in the IPR at all; only the smoke colour is visible in the IPR.
I did everything exactly the same as you, but my IPR cannot see the fire.

try caching it and import the vdb files in the pyro object and see if you see the fire in ipr

You need to apply to it (to the pyro object) an Arnold volume Cháfer. Then, enter that shader and check the channels it's accessing. You'll see that for the color/temperature field the channel is "heat". There's no heat channel in Pyro. So just remove that and write "temperature" so the shader will access the pyros's temperature channel. It's just a naming convention mismatch, it happens a lot when using .vdb from different sources that use different names for their channels. Hope this fixes your "bug".

How do did you manage to get several colors like in the intro with the orange and blue? I also want to multicolour my smoke but I find it difficult. Thanks for the tutorial!

In the volume shader, under "emission", you'll see something called "channel" where it is written "heat". Simply rename this "heat" to "temperature" and the problem should be fixed.

This is absolutely fantastic. For so much of my client work I have to use Redshift as that’s part of the pipeline many of the agencies I do work for have shifted to. When it’s up to me or when I do personal work Arnold is by far my favorite renderer to work with. It’s great to see Arnold get some love here.
The pacing, clarity and conciseness of your tutorials is perfect. Exceptional work. Liked and subbed.
