Recipes
Quick Breakfast Puffs
2 eggs
1 scant cup milk
1 Tablespoon melted shortening
1 1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Beat the eggs very thoroughly and add the milk and shortening. Sift flour, salt and baking powder twice. Add the liquid and beat for two minutes. Pour into hot, well-greased muffin pans and bake for about 20 minutes in hot oven. Serve warm with butter.
Cheese Soufflé
3 Tablespoons flour
3 Tablespoons butter
3 eggs, separated
1 cup milk
1 cup grated cheese
Salt
Pepper
Stir butter and flour together in a saucepan over fire, without browning. Add the milk, a little at a time, and stir til the mixture boils. Add cheese, salt, and pepper - set aside to cool. Beat the yolks and add them to the mixture in the saucepan and blend thoroughly. Lastly, beat the egg whites to a stiff froth, fold into the mixture, and turn into a deep well-greased dish. Bake in a moderate oven about 25 minutes, and serve at once, because it soon falls and no one will be impressed.

To me they seem very hostile tbh
I think it’s super refreshing to watch them interact. They’re a very “real” couple, even on camera. being with someone for years and through different seasons of life is going to mean not every second is perfect and bubbly. sometimes you give your partner some snark or get annoyed with one another. But they always come back to “playing” and joking and smiling. It’s quite different than how most ‘public’ couples present their relationship but frankly I think it’s a better representation of how most are behind closed doors. And a healthy example at that, from what I can tell 🙂

During covid I started going through my grandmother’s old recipe box and making (trying to make!) her recipes and even though she’s been gone almost 20 years and I still miss her a lot it made me feel close to her again and brought back wonderful memories!

I know he doesn't love being on camera, but tbh, some of my favorite content of yours, includes Nick. He's very funny & you guys seem to have a nice, fun relationship, even during a time of life that can be very trying & stressful (when you have a young baby to look after). It's very sweet. 💕

Honor is always such a happy little girl in the videos. She is such a cutie and enjoy hearing her making sounds. She's a daddy's girl for sure. So glad you didn't edit out Nick's funny faces, he cracks me up. 😅 I agree that he secretly likes being in them because he has good timing with his funny responses. And yes, I'd like to see him in more videos and prepare the possum or raccoon recipes, lol. You play off of each other really well on camera, and it's nice to see him make you laugh and smile. Humor certainly helps in maintaining

Love Clara! (My great grandmother’s name was also Clara!). Are you familiar with “Glen and Friends” UA-cam channel? He does a series called “Sunday morning and the old cookbook show”. Every Sunday he posts a video of a recipe he gets out of a cookbook from his extensive collection of vintage and antique cookbooks. It’s super interesting! Some of the cookbooks are hundreds of years old, spanning through to more recent decades. There are lots which are community or church recipe collections, or cookbooks created as advertising for a food product (flour for instance), or an appliance (for instance refrigerators when they were a brand new thing). He talks a lot about how recipes are different than today where they don’t include detailed information because they just assume you’ll know either what temperature would be appropriate, or how to do a certain technique, also how measurements can vary from older time periods so you have to consider that and adjust for it. I definitely think you’d enjoy it! There’s also “Tasting History with Max Miller” and “The Townsends” that you might enjoy for other old recipe cooking channels.
