14:40 what a coincidence he mentioned someone who would be host about 10 years later. That was very similar in very 1st episode of Family Fortunes in 1980 when hosted by Bob Monkhouse by saying Max Bygraves. The man who replaced him after 4 series
left to right blue to connect is five squares, top to bottom white is only four squares.... how can this be fair??? baffled, someone please explain what I am missing
Hm, you're the first person I've seen claim the solo player has an unfair edge. Usually the controversy is whether having two people gives blue a leg up.
What is wrong with this show- The American version gave the winner money, the sets were really better. The contestants and the audience had more character and the host had a way better personality and our version was on 20 years earlier in the 1980s.!!! I think with a better host it might have worked better.
This wasn't the first time we'd had Blockbusters in the UK. In fact, it was the third incarnation of the show. The original and best version here was also during the 1980's. It was a hugely popular show, in its day. The host was a fairly aged gentleman called Bob Holness, an unlikely hero of a show aimed primarily at teenagers. In most of the country it aired around 5pm for six nights a week, at its peak. It ran between 1983 and 1995. A dreadful revival occurred in 1997 and was soon pulled. Then came this version, in 2000. After this, it went out of production for over a decade. A new series was eventually commissioned in 2012, with a retro vibe based heavily upon the look of the show in its heyday. It was given a new and heavily reworked series last year, with more of an emphasis on comedy. I'll pop a few links below this comment, for anyone interested.
Do you have all the episodes of Liza tarbucks Blockbusters? I remember watching this when I was 10 years old.
14:40 future Blockbusters host gets a mention!
Similarly when Bob Monkhouse hosted Family Fortunes mentioned Max Bygraves in 1st ever episode. The guy who replaced him 4 years later
8:08, I most definitely agree
Always looked the balloon smuggling Lisa Tarbuck!!

The Blues have 2 players (5 hexagons) and the single player with the white hexagons because they are on their own
