Just a detail I think you missed starting around 4:59 - The images that flash by show the protagonist being abused by someone (presumably his dad), who also poured hot water out a kettle onto him, causing the scar around his eye. The “sleep paralysis demon” could be an imaginary figure that comforted him during this time. It’s a bit ambiguous, but the dad eventually commits suicide by hanging, and it’s implied that the protagonist blames himself through the way that his memories show the demon defending protag and hanging the dad (which could be a way that protag’s memories shielded him from the way his dad reacted to protag’s self-defense?). No matter your interpretation of this scene, I think that’s the origin of his mental health issues. Also, the full ending scene (5:35 ish) shows Tobi, the protag of How to Eat Life and Fight Song, presumably getting this protag out of jail. This basically confirms that this music video is connected to Eve’s manga, as also supported by all of the MVs having the same animator! Nice video! I’m always up for more Eve reactions from you guys, your enthusiasm is fun and infectious :]
I think the way that I see it is with the connection to the manga, Mr Creepypasta (the demon in reference and in the video) is his shadow / Zingai (i forget which one it is) and its one that protects him from all harm. He was the one who hung his dad and also when he went out into the road all the cars were crushed and he never got hurt. But I think what happened is because the protag overused this power Mr Creepypasta rejected him and wouldn't protect him anymore (at the end of the first chorus, and after that we saw him less and less) or maybe the protag refused his help. As for the origin of his mental struggles, I think it was the reliance on Mr Creepypasta's protection and then not having that anymore? I'm unsure, but I think you could definitely be right on the blaming himself thing, and then at the end when the protag hugs his past self he's sorta consoling him in the fact that none of the chaos was his fault and it was Mr Creepypasta's, and thats why at the end he points to his image of him after he gets hit (because Mr Creepypasta wasn't there to protect him anymore, its the first time he actually free from it) Also fun fact, Mr Creepypasta was in the Fight Song Music video as one of the Zingais or demons running the tournament but it never faught Tobi. idk what the means for everything but it's interesting

Most of the time,Eve destroy the world in his video. I feel like he is a really great artist to create art while showing you destruction, the beauty of the imperfections and some mental struggle that people have to face in life.
