Hey guys!
Tomorrow is our first wedding anniversary-time certainly flies! It’s hard to believe that a year ago, we were both nervously trying to get some sleep for the next big day. Now, a year later, we are currently doing the finishing touches on this video (with Beemo walking over our keyboards), and we’re not stressed about having to wake up for hair and makeup at 5:30AM!
We’ve gotten quite a few questions about why we decided to marry one another, so we decided to just touch on a few qualities that were/are really important to us when considering a partner and making a relationship work.
We know everyone is different, and every couple is different, but this is just from our personal experience :D What are some important qualities to you when considering a partner?

You were basically born to know each other. There's no really that many people in the world that can understand the way you seem understand and accept each other. How lucky...
I am married and I think the biggest question was "Am I willing to on a continuous process, sacrifice for that other person, and vice-versa?" Without taking advantage of and being good friends as well.

I took a french class in high school but it was so hard and teacher couldn't speak english at all which made it harder so I changed to spanish class lol and I almost failed...
French is harder than Spanish, just from my point of view.
he is quite different from many Asian guys in that he is appears very sensitive and yin, emotional, and communicative. seems like a nice person and husband.

I'd like to meet someone who shares not only the same values but has an optimistic view of the world and is also talkative like me because I talk a lot and I can't imagine being with someone who doesn't blabber much, that'd made me feel like I talk too much and I am overwhelming. Also it'd be crucial that I could be totally myself around them as you said in the video! I love watching your videos...My mother was Korean and my father American(British descent) so I love all things Korean. My husband and I have been married for 56 years, and have never had a serious fight. Our shared values are: love of God, family, and country, faithfulness, loyalty, respect, commitment...we enjoy each other and have fun!! God bless you in your marriage!

As for the qualities, I really love to smile and laugh, so someone with a positive mindset. Also polite/considerate and good teamwork between us is important for growing kids :). I've noticed that in my case if one of these things doesn't work it really affects the relationship big time.

I could really relate to so many things that you spoke about here. My wife and I met while she was studying here in Australia and we got married when I was 23 and she was 24. Its not something I ever thought would happen so soon but it just did. Other than similar values and personalities the qualities I saw that made me realise my wife was the one I wanted to marry was that I could see progress in our relationship. We are both the kind of people willing to change and be better for each other. I think its important to find someone that can compromise and be understanding and also change when there is a need to. Because of this it didn't matter where our relationship was at the time because I knew we would continue to grow more compatible and closer together. Also My wife was my best friend who i could share everything with and could be myself around. I also like what you said about being an equal partnership. We have been married 3 yrs and 8 mths now and are closer then ever.
I will say one more thing though. Having a child brings a whole new set of challenges and you want to make sure you have had the time together to be the best team together so you can face those challenges united. Even though they are hard its so amazing to watch them grow and it creates another special bond between husband and wife.
Anyway I enjoyed your video, I actually came from heechulisms video where you talked about being a foreign couple so since I am in one and I like what you said there I came to check out your channel and I like what i see :) keep up the good work.

When i watch your video, what i feel is you two are "Partener". not like who is leader, who is follower. and what i envy your beautiful couple is you can show you what you feel to each other completely as you said. normally, korean tend to hide what they feel and i grew up that circumstance. so, sometime i feel hard to express what i want, what trouble im in. even to my mother or girl friend. from your video, i learn how to be comfortable myself and be myself :)

I am exactly like Sarah, never even thought about marriage. I've always said after 30 I'll start thinking about that; but seeing how it happened in your case, I'm starting have second thoughts.
