Historic African American church joins Third Ward affordable housing program

Boynton Chapel Methodist Church has been holding services in Houston's Third Ward for 143 years. It has seen many changes over the decades, including a dwindling inventory of affordable homes. The church, founded by former slaves, is now working to do something about it by joining the
Midtown Redevelopment Authority/Center for Civic and Public Policy Improvement affordable housing program.
